The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 66

The reason people want to know about Robert is because he fits his costume perfectly. In Will's universe, Robert Downey** was already 43 years old when the first Holmes movie came out.

Even the original director of [Sherlock Holmes], Guy Ritchie, felt that RDJ was too old for the role.

Just because his body is still fit, RDJ can get the role. But in this parallel world, Robert was only in his 30s, making him perfectly suited to his appearance.

Even the executives who came here to reject her blatantly were now thinking of waiting until the audition.

"Robert, you look good."

Will walked towards her and patted her on the shoulder. To their left, two staff members were setting up a table for auditions.

The scene that Robert will be doing is one that will come quite early in the movie. It was the first meeting between Holmes and Mary Morstan, a nanny and the woman Watson wanted to marry.

Will felt this was the best scene to show Robert's acting skills and his strong grip on Holmes' character.

"The costume is a bit tight. Otherwise, I'm fine." Robert said with a smile.

Unlike their first meeting, she seemed a little more confident. Will has tried his best to give him enough confidence that he can finish the role, and he is happy to know that it worked out well.

"get used to. From now on you will wear it often."

"People there don't seem to want me."

Robert pointed to a group of executives who were talking amongst themselves with sour expressions on their faces. James was also among them and glanced at Will for help.

"They won't say anything once you prove yourself. You've worked hard, and it's just one scene. Do your best."

Amanda interrupted and gave a confident smile. Will also nodded his head.

"Yes, just focus on your acting. Leave the others to me."

Will and Robert clenched hands, and he moved to take his position. There are two actors from the theater group that Will recruited today, and they will each chant a Watson and Mary dialogue.

As Robert walked away from them, Amanda looked at him and asked.

"I saw you talking to Spencer Miller. What did the old man say?"

"You know him?" Will asked, looking at Amanda, but he shook his head.

"Little bit. Never seen, just heard."

"He told me that he would decide whether he wanted to invest in me or not after the audition."

Amanda made a tired smile hearing that.

"I wonder if it's a good thing or a bad thing."

"We'll see about that."

As he says that, Will feels Spencer's eyes on him.

Robert was sitting at the table, and his eyes were closed. There were three glasses of wine on the table, and it was prepared to maintain the authenticity of the scene.

In the distance, a camera was recording, and one of the staff members was holding a whiteboard. Will and the executives from Foxstar were watching from a distance.

As the sound of the slate rang out, the scene began, and Robert opened his eyes, his aura slightly changing, now akin to Holmes's aura.

He's not Michael Robert Elrod now. He is the great but a little crazy detective Sherlock Holmes.

"Holmes!"

"Hm."

As a familiar voice came out, Holmes raised his head to look at his best friend, Watson. Next to him was a woman who was his girlfriend, Mary.

"You came early" Watson said in a flat tone, despite the hidden surprise in his words.

"Modice." Sherlock.

"Miss Mary Morsten." Watson introduced him as Holmes smiled, standing to kiss the back of his hand.

"Yes my. It's really fun." Sherlock got up from his seat and said this politely after kissing the back of the woman's hand, "For my life, I don't know why it took him a long time to properly introduce us."

"The fun is mine" Mary said as she sat down.

Sherlock and Watson followed and took their seats.

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Holmes. I've heard a lot about you. I have a stack of detective novels at home... Collins, Poe." said Maria.

"That's right." Watson agreed.

"However, it can sometimes seem a bit far-fetched. Making this big assumption out of small details."

Sherlock glanced at the ceiling while answering, "That's not true, is it? In fact, the little details…." His eyes did not return to Mary, "so far, the most important."

"Take Watson..."

"I mean to."

Sherlock smiled at the insinuation and added, "See the wand? Rare African snake wood. Hiding high-strength steel bar. Little was given to the veterans of the Afghan war, so I can assume that he was a meritorious soldier. Strong, brave, born adventurous and neat, like all military men." Every word that came out of his mouth was made more meaningful by the movement of his hands.

He said, then his hand moved into his pocket.

"Now, I'm checking his pocket. Ah, the stamps from the boxing match. Now, I can conclude that he's a bit of a gambler. I'll keep an eye on that dowry if I were you."

"Yes, behind you." Sherlock continued in an indifferent tone, "We paid the rent, more than once."

"Well, with all due respect, Mr. Holmes, you know John well. What about strangers?"

Mary asked after a short pause, "What can you tell me about me?"

"You?" Sherlock looked at him as if expecting such a question.

"I don't think that's it..." Watson tried to change the topic, got a bad feeling.

"I didn't know that it ...." Sherlock repeated; he also knew what was going to happen.

"Not at dinner." Watson nodded.

"Maybe next time" Sherlock added.

"I insist." Mary was pretty firm.

"You insist?" Sherlock was surprised.

"You remember we talked about this before." Watson reminded Sherlock of something.

"The woman insisted," Sherlock replied to her.

After an argument with Watson, Holmes moved his chair towards Mary, placed his hand on her chin, lying on the table with his elbow.

Staring at her, she spoke, "You're a nanny."

"Good," said Mary, unimpressed.

"Yes, that's great. How about we... The waiter!" Watson tried to close the conversation.

"Your disciples... Eight-year-old boy." Sherlock ignored their comments and added.

"Charlie is actually seven years old" Mary replied.

"And he's tall for a kid his age. He crossed you out with ink today." Sherlock added.

"Is there ink on my face?" Mary asked Watson, a little embarrassed.

"There's nothing wrong with your face" Watson assured him.

"There are actually two drops in your ear. Blue Indians are almost impossible to clean." Sherlock added, pointing his finger at his ear with a flick of his hand.

He then continued, "At the same time, the child's hasty actions, but you're too experienced to react rashly, which is why the woman you work for lends you the necklace."

He smiled, looking at Mary's astonished expression.

"Pearls, diamonds, rubies without defects. Not the babysitter jewel. However, the gems you don't wear, tell us more." Sherlock continued with the corner of his lips slightly curved up.

He stared at his fingers as he tried to put his other hand on it.

"Holmes!" Watson calls, trying to stop the inevitable, but Sherlock is unaffected.

"You're engaged. The ring has been lost, but the light skin where it once was shows that you spent some time abroad, wearing it proudly, she said, until you are informed of its true and rather modest value, and then you break up. from the engagement and return to the UK for better prospects.”

Sherlock remained silent and turned toward Watson, "... A doctor maybe?"

This made Mary look at him and throw the wine into the glass into Sherlock's face. Sherlock on the other hand, put on a satisfied smile, which stemmed from a belief in his skills.

Watson lowered his gaze, and on the other hand, Mary also did the same while saying.

"You're right in all things, Mr. Holmes, except one." There was a long silence as Sherlock kept staring at Watson as the woman continued, "I didn't leave him. He died."

There was silence, and Mary left the table.

Sherlock glanced at him and sighed. This turn of events was somewhat unexpected, even for a person like him.

"Good, son," said Watson, without looking at his friend and standing, and following Mary.

Sherlock then continued to stare at the plate in front of him as the scene ended.

A strange silence enveloped the theater as the scene ended. The eyes of all the executives looked like they were about to come out.

James ended the silence as he began to laugh hysterically. Next to him, a woman muttered, "That's how I imagined it to be Sherlock Holmes."

It might be the thoughts in everyone's head. Since [Sherlock Holmes] is one of Foxstar's biggest projects, each of them has read the script.

The way Robert acted was exactly as they had imagined him to be about Holmes.

Even Amanda, who was initially against Robert, seemed convinced and applauded for the show.

As he began to clap, everyone around him began to do the same. It sounded breaking Robert's immersion, and he looked around before glancing at the executives.

"Haha, Will."

Spencer walked up to Will laughing, and he stared back at him.

"Mr Miller, what do you have to say now?"

"Not much. I'm just so happy that I'm right about you. Looks like you're someone who can really be invested."
