The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 22

It was the seventh day of filming, but they were already very close to the end of the script, and if everything went well, they would practically finish filming even before a week had passed.

Will stared at the papers on the table and the walkie talkies in his hands while sitting on the sofa of a cottage they rented a few miles away from the city. There were always about ten to fifteen crew members and actors in the lodge, and since the space was limited, they had to sleep on the sofa or on the floor.

For Jeffery's crew, this was one of the most intense filming sessions they've ever done, especially as the entire filming went on non-stop 24/7.

As for the three main leaders, they were mostly in tents, and had walkie-talkies with them, where Will was constantly in contact with them. Will's main reason for carrying a walkie-talkie was to prevent them from getting lost in the woods.

But still, Zach, who plays Mike, managed to get lost more than once in the three days of filming itself.

He's really bad with his direction.

Over the past seven days, as filming progressed, Will wanted to get as much raw reaction as possible from the three main leads, and that was why he tried a few low blow tricks, but just in case, he did, he had already given the three actors a subtle warning.

However, before that, Will made a slight change in the contract. This was the most important clause to that contract, and for some reason, his mind was too preoccupied with other things that it escaped his mind.

“This contract will allow me to add some external factors and improvise the plot in place, without telling you, and this is done to get your raw expression. Some things may happen that may mess with your mind, but if you think it's too much, just come to me. Also, I will be giving psychological doctor appointments for the three of you, with the first two paid visits out of my own pocket. ”

The three of them had agreed to this, not taking Will's words seriously.

In his previous life, Project Witch Blair was an instant success and raised the bar for horror films.

People think of it as one of the movies to watch before dying.

The film was so successful that even two decades later, many people believed it was real, and when it was released, some conspiracy theorists had even started the hunt for the film's three main leads.

But in all of these successes, which the audience and audience are not aware of, are the real-life effects that take place on the lives of the actors who are part of the film.

All the actors have used their real names in this film, under the director's instructions to make things as realistic as possible for the audience.

And it works in terms of making money, but in the real-life case of the actors, the film makes things even worse.

The main cast, Heather, had to quit acting because she couldn't find another job because many believed that she was actually a ghost because in their minds, the film was a real recording.

In fact, his mother received letters of condolence and sympathy cards from the audience because many considered it a real recording and thought her daughter had died or gone missing.

The thing is, the production team has also made the actors sign similar contracts with the actors allowing them to “play around with their heads.” The only difference is, Will will not push the actors to their limits and exploit them with this new clause.

While the word 'exploit' might sound a bit preposterous to the first clause, and even to the actors, who were unknown at the time, it doesn't sound like a big deal.

However, what they did not expect was how the previous world production team “ confused their minds.”

The most famous of them was when one night, the actors were sleeping in their tents, and the production team quietly started shaking their tents.

This thought sounded like nothing, but the problem was, the actors were unaware of this. They were also not warned about it and since they had signed a contract, they could not even speak anything against it, due to the tightness of the production team.

Will chooses not to make any contracts, and uses more subtle means to create deep horror.

Instead of leaving the actor completely in the dark, Will tells them a little bit about his plot and then he will make it so that something unexpected happens, which in turn will cause confusion, and that was how he would get a lot of raw expression from her.

"There will always be one scene that I will change on the spot, and that scene will not be revealed to you."

For example, he had just told them that they would hear the laughter of a child, but what they did not expect was the laughter of not just one, but dozens of children, overlapping each other. The laughter comes from a pre-recorded clip recorded by Will himself from a nearby town kindergarten.

Another thing Will did was change the sound of crackling wood into someone running through the forest. This one has a much better effect.

But there is one thing worth mentioning. Of all the inhumane techniques that the production team of the previous world used, Will chose to take the two most.

As per the script, as the plot progresses, the three actors begin to have disagreements between them, which is crucial in the success of the film, as their expressions of anger and frustration are very original.

However, the emotion is not fake, but real.

The production team gave the actors less and less food as time went on, and Will followed this one.

And the second one he chose was the end of the movie.

The ending is set in the basement.

Will does not tell Heather and Mike about what will happen in the basement of the house at the end. He instructs Mike to run up and down the stairs while shouting to call Josh before running into the basement, and keep Heather as far behind him as possible.

When Mike reached the basement, two black-clothed production assistants grabbed him and told him to stand in a corner.

When Heather arrived, they also grabbed her and gently placed her 16mm on the floor while gesturing for her to stop screaming.

And then in the camera footage, on the basement floor, a shadow is seen, coming from behind the camera screen, but as Heather's cry fades, the shooting ends.

But for June, who plays Heather, this scene is too unexpected, and coupled with Will's 'unexpected improvisation', she is so scared that she must be placated by him.

In fact, Will had even called a psychiatrist before filming of the cover began - this was his last act, if the situation got out of hand.
