The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 110

"What!?" Jeffery's voice contained a barely veiled anger and distrust at the request made by the MCA.

Trying to control his anger, Jeffery takes a calming breath looking at the face of the agent and then the film director, slowly trying to understand the blatant insults as well as unprofessional clauses they are trying to set, and then he speaks, and then he speaks, with a truncated tone. “I hope you realize that you are asking us for ten percent box office share, above pay, for an actor who has just broken through the A-list rankings, right? There are many in that category who will, quite frankly, perform better, at a much lower price. Every time before now, Reagan Norris has been thrown in for a fee, not a box office cut. You must understand, we cannot accept this.”

Jacob looked like he was chewing on a lemon when he said, “That clause was put forward by our own CEO, we believe that Reagan has the potential to be the best of the best, we believe, and the CEO believes that for an actor like him, after our shared history, a percentage of gross income is the perfect incentive for us to hire him to work here.”

Jeffery and Carlson did not believe that the CEO of the MCA could be so selfish and petty.

"Is that the final condition for this deal?" ask Carlson.

“Yes, I am sure it is the last condition, that last clause can not be bid again,” stressed Jacob.

"Then, regretfully I say, we respectfully reject your terms, we cannot in good faith let this humiliation be set aside, we hope we can work more peacefully in the coming occasions, he said, have a nice day." Jeffery dissolved the meeting with a bland statement of pleasantries, his mind working too hard trying to contain his anger and rage.

Seeing that the meeting had reached a conclusion and that he was no longer welcome in the office, Jacob Woodsworth packed up the documents, buttoned his suitcase, giving the final nod with a polite nod to the two angry businessmen in front of him, and take a leave of absence.

While actors in the upper echelons of the A-list category sometimes ask for a stake in the box office, it is generally supported by their very famous acting prowess. And even then, Production companies generally dislike actors who ask for a percentage of gross income. There have been many instances where actors demanded the same term for acting in various high-budget films, and in the production houses retaliation attempted, what is commonly known as Hollywood Accounting, to name a few, by counting the accounts in such a way that on paper, the film would yield nothing. , giving the actors demanding such a part almost nothing as payment for their work. Jeffery knows that he can't try to count Hollywood for it is something, Will won't do it, he can't help but think of the sweet retaliation he would get if he got away with it.

Reigning in his more destructive mind, Jeffery decides that he needs to inform Will of new developments.

After selling over 10 million copies, 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' at a price of about 7.99 dollars per copy, made about eighty million dollars worldwide, in less than a month. While Will knew that the books would definitely make a fortune, he had underestimated just how much his own fame and notoriety, along with the perfect quality of the books would increase the sales of the book. As a writer, he himself has earned sixteen million dollars from the piece, and Will is thrilled with the numbers.

There are many critics who give very positive reviews on various sites, ranging from purely literary ones, to those who follow Will and are also involved in Hollywood.

On Sparrow there are many users who decide to post their own comments like –

I don't like fantasy books. This is the one time I have to fight it. Harry Potter is in my 2 favorite books of all time. It is amazing with all the unique things you see in the world of magic. You should think again when choosing a favorite book.

10/10, would recommend]

It's great because I enjoy it and it makes me want to read it a lot and see what happens next.

Waiting for the next installment, luv you Will!]

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is one of my favorite books in the Harry Potter series. Reading this book has made me crazy about Harry Potter and I want to be one among the magical community. I can't imagine how happy I would have been to get a letter from Dumbledore saying that I was welcome at Hogwarts! What can't that man do, Will Evans!??? ]

Will read many such comments about Sparrow fans who had read his book while waiting backstage for radio host Joe Slogan.

Joe Slogan is a producer and host of the podcast, Daily Talks with Joe Slogan and has invited Will to his studio to record a podcast episode featuring Will and talk about the book.

He had decided to stop writing the script for [Liberty City] and do something new when Amanda told him about the invitation to the show. The show has previously hosted various celebrities and high-profile figures, and Will thinks that it will be a fun change from the increasingly congested schedule he is starting to take on.

“Master, we already set up the room, we just need to attach this microphone to your shirt collar, and you need to wear a headset near the big microphone, and then we will pick it up from there.” A lab technician comes forward and tells Will that his preparations are complete.

Will follows the lab technician into the interview room, which has several cameras installed and mounted in an attached position so that the faces of the host and guests can be clearly seen in the video they will release later. On one of the leather chairs in the room was the Host himself, Joe Slogan.

Joe has a bald face, with wrinkles that make him look rough and physically sturdy. He looked to Will and smiled and extended his hand forward to shake hands, “Halo, so glad you're here. Please, sit down and we'll start.”

Will nodded, smiled, and took the offered helping hand, “It's nice to be here, I'm a big fan of your podcast.”

“Always fun knowing that big rising stars like you are watching my show, let's start”

Will nodded, and sat down. In front of him was a hot coffee jar and a large headset that would play the voices of the speaking person and the audience, if they called to talk to the guests of the event.

Will is the one who started the “Hai event all of them! It's Will Evans and we bring you another episode of Will Evan's podcast, Yes it's true, I've taken over the show, and we have here with us today, men, myths, myths, legend, Joe Slogan”

Without a doubt, Joe played along with the opening of “Thank you for inviting me Will, how did the podcast business work for you?”

"I have to say, it's a tough job, I'll probably give it back to you, I think I'd rather make a movie."

“Well, then, I will gladly take back the show from your hands!” Joe joked, and then turned his attention back to Will “But filmmaking isn't the only thing you do, is it? My son loves your book, how did you get the idea for that book?”

“I'm glad your son likes it, I wrote it mainly because I've always been fascinated with the idea of magic and mystery, and being an orphan myself, my own story is something I thought, I thought, I can write about. Harry Potter is a character I wrote myself, it's about a boy who has nothing and then gets thrown into this amazing world, where he has to learn and match people's expectations, solve the mystery and fight the killer of his parents while making some very valuable friends along the way.”

"Yes, now that my daughter has read it, I think I might as well, do you have any other books in the works?" ask Jo.

“Ehm, yes. I have some ideas about Harry Potter, I've been toying with what I want to do with the second part of the book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, You might have guessed that Harry would interact with this mysterious room. . And not only do I have a lot of ideas that I want to bring and show people, my main goal is to provide artistic and quality content for people to enjoy thoroughly.” will answer.

“That's why you just acquired Marvel Comics? To produce better content?” Joe once again diverted the line of questioning.

“Well, I've always been a fan of Marvel Comics in general, I mean in the '60s my dad used to read Captain America comics as soon as they came out, I mean, I was disappointed with what the movie played for the studio.be, and now I have the resources to do something about poor quality there, I thought, why not do it yourself?” will answer.

“I'm sure most listeners will be happy to hear it, why don't we take some questions from them?” Joe points out that they received a call from the audience at home.

The phone rings, and Will and Joe wait for the phone to connect. Once connected, a woman's voice sounded from the other side.

“Hai, I'm Judy, and I have a question for Will Evans.

The podcast continued for more than three hours where Joe and the audience asked many questions, not only about his future projects but also about his life before Hollywood, his relationship with June, and his future, and another part of the entertainment industry that Will will take. While Will has answered most questions honestly, he remains mysterious and aloof about the future, trying to entice the audience to keep a close eye on his career.

Walking out of the studio after shaking hands with Joe, Will smiled broadly. That's when he got a call from Jeffrey.

"Will, we need to talk." What happened next ruined Will's good mood.
