The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 127

"Bribery? Fucking bribe! I'll show you how to scare them! I'll be back here in five minutes..." Leo repeated his dialogue for the fifteenth time. He held a small window eraser, which he used instead of a gun, in his left hand. He had been practicing his dialogue all week, and he had memorized it almost entirely. His Italian-American accent was perfect, and he began attending martial arts classes that Amanda Garcia had arranged for him. There had already been a significant increase in his grappling and judo throws, and he had learned how to properly throw punches, although he was still far from making himself look trustworthy while defeating more than three people, but he was getting there.

"I run this town now! ME!" He said, pretending to be on top of a burning car, firing his fake gun into the air. If anyone were to break into the small office he occupied, they would probably think he had gone mad.

But to him, this was all an explosion. He ended up doing what he loved, and despite the sheer amount of hard work, he enjoyed every second of the things he did to prepare himself for his first big role. He even enjoyed the blow his coach gave him the first time they played. He thought he was slowly turning into a masochist.

"Who the hell is this bastard? Bastard lawyer! bastard who wears a rug! I'm surrounded by assholes!" He shouted in his room again, as he started practicing another scene.

He reverts back to another scene "un cappucino, per favore" when he pretends to walk to a table, where there should be a member of the Jury drinking his coffee, Sitting across from the absent Jury member, Leo placed his window eraser on the table and quickly covered it with a magazine, his hands fixed close to it, he said, he looked at where the head of the Jury members should be and whispered, "Giorgio sends his greetings. Remember, guilt is a dirty word. Not guilty until I say otherwise. You know he's innocent. You remember Giorgio? You remember he's innocent. Innocent, all right? Nice." He explained each sentence while tapping the gun, under the magazine repeatedly.

Leo continued to practice his dialogue for the rest of the night, and he was convinced he was branded as being touched in the head by at least three different interns, who had come to feed him.

The [500-day Summer] premiere took place at the Chinese Theater, and most of the OP Studios and ICM executives have been queuing up to watch the film, with them being distributors of the film. Selected members of the general public were also invited to the event, tickets for the event were sold as fundraisers for charities donated to the Make A Wish foundation. By doing so, it provides Dream Vision real-time feedback for their films, allowing them to build a better picture for the projections the film might achieve, at the box office.

[500 Days of Summer] is a film based on the relationship between a man and a woman in her mid-twenties. In the opening scene, the omniscient narrator warns the audience about the outcome of the story by stating, This is not a love story. The main character, Tom, played by Clark Reed and Summer, is played by Natalie Bergmann, both of whom work at the Greeting Card Company. Summer is a new hire, and Tom begins to fall in love with her unique personality and physical attractiveness. Summer just wants to be Tom's friend without commitment, but she treats Tom as if he has a lot of intentions. Tom and Summer become best friends, but they also act as if they are lovers.

Because of this, Tom begins to fall more and more in love with Summer. Summer tells Tom that they should have some distance after a while but throws out the sentence, "But you're still my best friend." It broke Tom's heart. After some time, Tom meets her again, and she still has hope that they will end up together. To her disappointment, she finds that she is engaged to another man. Towards the end of the film, Summer finds Tom in the park, and she tells him that she is now married. At the very end, Tom attends a job interview, and he asks a girl on a date whose name (coincidentally) is "Autumn".

The entire film is based on what happened in Tom's mind.

Christopher Orr observes in Atlantic magazine saying "We see a central relationship through Tom's eyes exclusively, with Summer ultimately remaining as unknowable as she is to him. "Tom never gave up believing that she and Summer intended to have this kind of fantasy love until she finally met Summer as an engaged woman. He only rises at the height of the relationship, and this leads to his own downfall.

Tom will not accept Summer's lack of commitment and desire to establish a true romantic relationship. Or summarize this by saying, "We jumped from Day 28 to Day 303 to Day 167 to Day 408, oscillating between the initial hope and the final despair, he said, a sudden and unsolicited expression of love and a slow and devastating awareness that it is unrequited."

Although the film has two main characters, the cinematography only correlates with Tom's emotions. The relationship between Tom and Summer is both confusing and uncertain, and Tom's emotions are like a dizzying roller coaster.

The film is directed at the complications and inconsistencies of a relationship. It moves away from the typical Hollywood theme that "love is a fantasy," and points itself to the fact that a relationship doesn't always go the way one wants it to.

The OP studio executives were very pleased with the project and were confident that the film would surpass 100 million dollars at the box office. At the same time, Carson could not hold back the tears.

His years of work have finally become something big and he is sure to be seen as a great director once the film is released.

"I have to let them enjoy this."

Will thought seeing the expressions of Natalie and Carson

Both of them looked like it was the happiest day of their lives. They've always wanted to be here, but now, it's finally coming true.

It was their night and she shouldn't have been the center of attention for too long.

So, after talking a bit with ICM and OP executives, she left the theater.
