The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 122

The vacation from the job Will has decided for himself stretches through the snowy cold climate of Christmas and New Year. He had almost all the capable people in his office working on various projects his company had done such as [1917] and [500 Summer days], and he was no longer needed in his second production, either, and she could sit back and relax while the work was done for her.

He also spends most of Christmas and New Year's Eve indoors with June, celebrating festive occasions with each other and with Uncle Ben and his family. He prefers a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for celebration rather than a lavish party and a family vacation is the perfect opportunity for him to build a better relationship with his Uncle, especially after the tension he accidentally committed due to a failure with the MCA, and the Collins family.

He had used the break time to ponder what he should do with the ever-growing pool of money that was in his bank account. While intrinsically taboo, he will largely return to the production and development of new films, but the amount he produces breeds opportunity and opens the door to possibilities that were previously beyond his imagination and ability. With the capital he collects, he can be a little riskier with his investments and potentially produce content that is far superior to the standards set by the industry he works in.

When he first gained a large amount of box office share [The Blair Witch Project], he, he has used it naturally for self-improvement and getting a new car and a better place to call home. And the rest have been reinvested into filmmaking with the production of [Sherlock Holmes]. He decided that some of the money would be better donated to charity. While it would be a fantastic way to help people in need, it would also enhance its already pristine image in Hollywood, if it were to be known anonymously by the right person.

The rest, he decided, would be better used to help himself learn various musical instruments and about music in general. For a while, he had a system in place to speed up the process and give him the appropriate skills, he would need practice to hone those skills and make them his own. As they say, Hard work trumps talent, if he does not work for the better and nurtures it, that talent will be useless.

During the days he spent in his office during his vacation he would join Leo, mostly watching gangster action movies. He wants to establish a good relationship with Leo that he hopes will eventually develop into a mentor-mentee relationship, he wants to tie him to the DTA eventually, and while the contract will secure him as a talent at the DTA, he wants to tie him down to the DTA, an established relationship and Leo's debt of gratitude will ensure that he doesn't want to find a job elsewhere after he becomes famous in Hollywood. He and Robert have a similar relationship, and he believes Robert will remain with the DTA throughout his career in Hollywood. Unless something serious happens between him and Robert, the relationship will remain as solid as ever.

As soon as Christmas passed, the filming process [500 Summer days] was almost complete, as it required almost no CGI and no additional special effects, it was a fairly simple filmmaking process. The only nuance that director Duckstein has is to focus on the different facial expressions and raw emotions that hardworking actors must show. Natalie and Clark have managed to build on the chemistry seen on set and on the final shot that the director has sent to Will for review.

Similarly [1917] was in the process of making his film as well; although the film also did not have CGI, it did, the film has a very theatrical and artistic need to record long scenes in one shot while perfectly managing special effects, such as explosions, bullet reflections, barbed wire, etc. Elijah and Renly have to take multiple pictures of the same scene, and the scene where the plane crashes into a warehouse almost turns into an actual accident, but the pilot managed to dodge the warehouse and flew over it at the last second. After that, the wooden walls were blown up using light explosives, and the fake crash site, based on the plane, was made to continue.

Will is very happy with the progress his two projects have made, and he is very satisfied with the work Leo did for [Liberty City], he managed to get the character he ended up playing, almost perfect. and he was able to show the development of Italian gangsters who adapted to the culture of the country and the city where he wanted to make a name for himself.

Meanwhile, Will has received word from the Hospital where Spencer is being treated that he is finally in a condition to receive visitors.

******

Heading for the Hospital elevator, Will adjusts his collar as he prepares to finally meet Spencer Miller again. As soon as the elevator door opened, he walked over to the receptionist and asked the woman behind the counter, "Uhm, excuse me, can you guide me to the room where Spencer Miller is? I'm Will Evans, here to visit."

The nurse who recognized him stuttered for a while before putting on a quiet professional mask and replied, "Of course, Sir, Mr. Miller is inside 4B, at the end of the hallway on the right."

"Thank You!" He said and walked down the aisle towards ward 4B.

"Hello Spencer, how are you feeling now?" He asked about his health.

"Oh, don't worry, I'll be fine and fit like a horse in no time, tell me, how does the film industry treat you? I heard you met Colt." He said with a faint smile on his face.

"ah! Yes, I met your son at the gala by Krown Studios, He was a good company after the business we did there was done. I'm sure he'll do well."

"You think so?"

Spencer laughed in disbelief. Then, with an expression that said he was remembering something, he said.

"He's different from me. That boy he and I have different personalities. I invest in people and let them do their own work and just see the results while he invests in himself and wants everything to go his way."

"Which way is better?"

Will asked, but Spencer shook his head.

"Eitherway. Everything's fine. In my career, there was a lot of chaos when I didn't interfere, while there are people like you who exceeded my expectations. So, I don't know. Just, I hope you have a little patience with my son."

"I'll try my best."

After that, they talked about Sherlock Holmes. Spencer was quite interested because it was actually the last film of his career, and he wanted the franchise to be the best in Hollywood.

Will and he discuss some ideas for it, and then he asks Will about his next venture and what if he needs help, Will can ask him.
