The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 67

"What did you decide?"

Will asked while putting the folder in his hand.

He is currently in his office at Dream Vision Studios. He came a little early because he was going to meet Robert here today.

Yesterday, he gave Robert a contract and told him to call him as soon as he finished the whole contract.

The main reason why Will doesn't waste any more time on this is because of Spencer Miller's help. The latter was very impressed with Robert's acting skills and had convinced other executives of the company to agree with Robert's Will's choice of casting as Holmes.

Robert, on the other hand, was also very happy about this. He was even ready to sign the contract right then and there, but Will told him to complete the entire contract first and even consult a lawyer about this. He did not want the former to feel cheated in the future, especially since he had told the former about something new in the contract.

And this morning today, Robert called him, saying that he was ready to sign the contract. Normally, Will would tell her to slow down, but this time he was also quite excited.

Not only because he recruited someone as talented as the RDJ, but also because this person would become the first actor in his agency.

"Here." Robert put the contract in front of Will while sitting down.

"Are you satisfied with that?" will ask.

"Yes." Yeah." Robert smiled, "Three movies. I was shocked when I read these two words."

Will nodded, "Yes. That's a change of plan we have. Three movie contracts worth two million. 500K for the first film, 650K for the second, and 850K for the third."

(A/n: stop adding.)

He was convinced that Foxstar wanted to make a sequel for [Sherlock Holmes] after seeing the box office numbers and knowing how much Robert would price up in the future, he was happy to sign him very cheaply.

"Yes. I signed it." Robert smiled. He was very satisfied with the terms of the contract. His current income was only a few thousand dollars, and that was also not constant. This contract was an opportunity sent from heaven so he should not mess it up.

"Good," Will smiled, "Before we shake hands and celebrate, Robert, do you remember the thing we talked about?."

"Yes sure."

Will had already explained everything to him, and Robert had also thought about it carefully.

Will talks about signing Robert as the first artist from Dream Vision's agency. Although they have yet to register the company or get an official name, Will wants Robert to sign a special contract that will tie him to Dream Vision.

He was just someone he couldn't afford to lose.

After [Sherlock Holmes], Will plans to officially launch his agency.

"Your contract with MCA is over, right?"

He asked, just to make sure they didn't have any complications later on.

"Yes, there's no need to worry about that. My contract expired a while ago, and there's no talk of renewing it, and I don't think the MCA wants me."

Will smiled wryly hearing that.

'They don't want you right now, but they will want you in the future.'

He has a good relationship with MCA thanks to Uncle Ben, and it was they who had helped him sell his script. It would not be wrong to say that his career would not have started smoothly without Uncle Ben and the MCA.

Even in [Sherlock Holmes], some of the actors he could get were due to MCA.

He didn't want to ruin their relationship, but it was inevitable because of Robert. Once he is famous, the MCA chairman will definitely be angry.

'Ah, sigh, I'll handle it when it comes.'

Thinking about it, Will issues a contract and transfers it to Robert. Robert took out his pen and signed it without wasting any time reading it.

"Don't you even bother reading it?"

"no need. I trust you enough."

Saying that, he smiled and shook hands with Will.

"Let's make a blockbuster."

He added, and Will nodded.

***

11:35.

March 24th, 2011

Leavesden Studios, Leavesden, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom.

"Mr Evans, nice to meet you at last." A middle-aged man in a classy formal suit reached out his hand to shake hands.

Will complies and shakes hands with the person in front of him, "The fun is mine, Mr. Wilson. Thank you for letting us shoot here."

"Well, I'm not against money" replied Mr Wilson, full name Nicole Wilson with a chuckle.

They are currently on the sound stage at Leavesden Studios.

Most of the documents regarding the contract are handled by Amanda and other Dream Vision Studio staff. Currently, they will be filming a scene after the film's prologue, and it will be shot at [221B Baker Street]. However, since the location was entirely fictional, they would use the sound stage in this studio.

A sound stage is basically a large, soundproof room or building with large doors and high ceilings, used for the production of theatrical filmmaking and television production, and, it is usually located on a secure film or television studio property.

[ PICTURE ]

The current vacant stage is completely designed into a 19th-century apartment and almost fits the description of the book.

After a small chat with Mr. Wilson, Will heads to the camera section.

"Are you ready?" Will called a young man.

The young man raised his head and smiled, "Yes."

He is Anthony McCarthy. New Assistant Director Will.

Although Will will direct the entire film, it would be presumptuous to think that he could handle all the work. The film will be on a higher level, far beyond [The Blair Witch Project], and this is why Will hires a Director Assistant who will help him with the little job details he may have missed.

And now, he had come here to tell Anthony about his first assignment.

"Do you have a license?" ask Wil.

"Yes," Anthony pointed to a nearby table, "I made three copies."

"Good," Will nodded, "Take the permission of Old Royal Naval College, and we'll use the place to photograph the streets outside Baker Street."

"All right," Anton nodded.

Will then pointed in a direction and added, "For now, go and talk to Richard. Is he ready to film? And tell the actor who is patient to come too. We'll start with their scenes."

"I'll be right back," Anthony nodded.

"Alright," Will glanced the other way, "I'll go and check his progress. You go and get Richard."

Anthony nodded and headed to the makeup section, where the actor who will play Dr Watson, Levi Richards, was reading his dialogue while putting on his makeup.

Will moved in the direction he saw. A few steps later, someone called out to him.

"Aw!"

Will turns around and finds Jeffery walking towards him.

"Yes?"

"Well, I think we should keep the ceiling gray to give it a 19th-century impression" Jeffery said with a thoughtful expression.

Will nodded, "Yes, you're right. Be careful with the limits. We don't want to give it a stereotypical impression, and we don't want to make it too modern either, and it needs to give a vibe. of a dark detective story."

"understand." Jeffery nodded, then following Will's gaze, he was shocked by the scene before him.

"You made him work hard." he smiled as he looked ahead.

Will nodded, "The whole film is on his shoulders. He needs to understand the facts, and I think he kind of likes this martial art."

"Is this karate? Or kungfu?”

"No, it's Wing Chun."

"Wing Chun? Does Sherlock Holmes in those stories know martial arts?"

"In those stories, Holmes is described as an expert in Baritsu." Will replies, "This is an ancient English martial art created by combining elements of boxing, jujitsu, stick fighting, and French kickboxing."

"Why Wing Chun?" ask jefri.

Will smiles.

They were currently looking at a corner of the studio, where two people were practicing martial arts.

One was Michael Robert Elrod, the actor who would play Sherlock, and the second person was an old Chinese man in traditional kung fu attire.

The two were currently practicing, and Michael was fully focused on the pose, unaware of the two people discussing it.

“Wing Chun is one type of Kung Fu, but it is not something that is commonly seen. Since it is a type of Kung Fu martial art, this one requires strong arms and legs. However, it also has a unique softness and relaxation in its movements. It's perfect for this movie, especially with the actor who played Sherlock."

"Yes," Jeffery nodded, "I can see him enjoying his training."

Will nodded. Just then, the two sensed someone approaching from the side and turned towards them.

"Richard is ready." That was Anthony.

Will smiled, "Let's start turning the camera."
