The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 49

"Hey, have you heard of Will? I heard he's a very talented man."

"Yes, I've heard about him, all right. I heard the man got the producer to invest in his film as soon as he finished his studies at USC. There are many aspiring directors with some great ideas, but only the ideas are chosen. "

"They said he could be a very good director. I personally think he used the back door. Must be good, right? He's rich and already has a bright future."

Will heard the students talking about him. He was already used to this 'unnecessary' popularity.

He was born in the home of a famous celebrity. His wealth, fame and respect, his family had it all, making it easy to learn and aspire to become a director.

Her fault. People thought being poor was a sin, but being rich had become a sin for Will. No matter how much effort he put in and no matter how much passion he showed, his thoughts and hard work never passed on to people, he said, and they only treated him as a man born with a silver spoon.

'One day, I will make you all respect me for my own work!'

Will thought inwardly as he walked out of the campus. There was nothing she really had to do after class, so she planned to go home and start working on ideas for her first film.

A car came to pick him up, as usual. As he sat in the car, the driver drove him until they stopped at a red light.

*Tap***Tap*

Someone knocked on the side glass from outside. It was a man with wild blonde hair dyed green in some places and two ear piercing like scorpion tails. He sat on a bicycle behind another man whose face was nowhere to be seen.

Will unwittingly slid down the glass as the man opened his mouth, revealing a piercing on his tongue as well.

"It's nothing personal, man; blame your parents if you have to blame someone."

The driver in the front seat tried to warn Will about something urgent.

*Click**Boom*

By the time Will could react, the blond-haired man had already pulled out a gun and shot straight into Will's head.

"Huhhuh......"

Will sighed in despair as Jeffrey immediately patted his back.

"Are you okay?"

Jeffrey asked with worry in his eyes.

'I fell asleep ..."

Will thought as he felt his own heart thump as his forehead filled with cold sweat.

"Yes I'm fine."

Will said as he tried to catch his breath. Ever since his transmigration, Will has been dreaming about the previous world for the first time.

To be exact, it was a dream about how he died in that world. As he goes to the Krown Studios office with Jeffrey, he sees the clear sky and falls asleep unconscious, only to be awakened by this terrifying dream.

"You must be tired from working so much every day. You should rest when you have time, don't waste your youth just working every day."

Jeffrey said with a bitter smile. According to him, Will is too mature and serious about his work for a child his age. It was a good thing but not even resting would eventually make him tired, making his performance drop significantly.

"Don't worry. Like I said, I'm fine. How long until we reach our goal?"

Will tried to change the subject.

"We got there, so I tried to wake you up early. Don't worry, we still have time before the meeting starts."

Jeffrey said as he got out of the car.

Soon, Will calms down and gets out of the car as well.

Benjamin and Jason should have gotten to the studio before they did.

In order to acquire the company, an acquisition team is required, for which he asks Benjamin to take over the role of temporary agent.

There are several obvious reasons why Will decided to acquire the Krown studio. The first and foremost reason is that he does not have a single debt.

All equity is in the actual shareholders, and none of them have yet chosen to sell it. Second, all departments and offices were well-maintained even though the company had clearly fallen, or so Jeffrey mentioned.

The various types of equipment they used were obviously cheap, but according to Will, it was no big deal and could easily be solved with money.

Taking a walk, Will looked around and could not help feeling happy. The rooms and offices around looked new and well maintained.

Immediately, Jeffrey found the board room as he knocked once before entering.

An old man of about 60 was sitting on a head chair with two other men sitting opposite him on a circular glass table.

The gray-haired old man said in a somewhat rough tone, perfectly matching Jeffrey's own voice.

"Shut up, you son of a bitch; you really think some secretaries would be blind enough to have an affair with you? You're not even rich. Haha."

Jeffrey said as the two of them laughed and shook hands.

"This is Will, the guy I told you about. Will, this is Frank Winston, Chairman of Krown Studios."

Will shakes hands with Frank as Frank measures him with a gaze.

"Hello, I'm Will Evans. I hope we can reach a satisfactory agreement."

"We'll see about that."

Frank said while gesturing for the two to sit down.

Will greeted Benjamin and Jason as he said.

"Let's start the meeting."

***

"You really overestimated your movie.. $3 million is just for copyright; you might as well just rob us right away."

Benjamin said with a gaze that showed how absurd this situation was.

As the meeting progresses, Frank's personality becomes increasingly clear as Benjamin and Frank engage in a heated debate.

Frank asked for $3 million just for the copyright of all the films Krown Studios produced.

As the films produced by Krown Studios failed one after the other, Frank sold several films through DVD. The DVD sales are the reason why Krown Studios has not gone bankrupt and is still afloat, though almost non-existent.

"I think that makes quite a bit of sense considering the ten years of history behind the studio."

Frank said aggressively, which was not rejected and fought by Benjamin.

"Considerate? Pshaw! It's too high; we might as well go and buy some other studios. Hollywood isn't short of studios on the brink of bankruptcy, you know? Not to mention this studio B-class movie without a single popular actor is not worth much. You have had enough opportunities to sell this sunken company before, but you let it go. But believe me, we won't wait for you to make a decision, we can go and buy some other studios ."

As Benjamin said this, Frank hesitated for a moment.

The company was already in tatters, and it was all because of his stubbornness that he had yet to sell it. But if delayed again, he will not only play to his own life but the lives of the entire company, including its employees.

The reason why he decided to sell the company now was due to a certain realization. His company's shares were not sold, and he had to buy back all the shares from his own shareholders, emptying his pockets even further.

Will did not say much during the meeting and left much to Benjamin as he looked at him. A smile could not help but form on his lips involuntarily as he stared at Benjamin aggressively, making a point to lower the rates.

Such negotiations and business tactics were the reason Benjamin became a senior agent at the MCA. He was very clear about how to venture to profit in a debate like this, which is not the most liked thing about him on a personal level, but in business, he said, this is definitely a profitable skill.

Although Benjamin has made a bold move, Frank soon regains his composure, proving his years of experience as he re-engages in the argument.

Although Frank becomes a bit of a tamer throughout the meeting, his unique self continues to appear on condition by condition for Will to buy the company. Will simply rejects each one of them and leaves the others for Benjamin to deal with.

As the meeting was coming to an end, Frank made one final condition: not to change the name of the studio if Will wanted to buy it.

"I'd love to respect your emotions related to the company, but I think names are also a determining factor for success, and I just think this name won't work for me. I'm definitely going to make it something better than it is now, both the name and the company."

Will says that in response to Frank's request. In the end, Frank admitted.

It was decided that the entire company would be transferred to Will's name with the amount of $4.5 million. This included his building, and one of the conditions Will received from Frank was that he would not fire the existing staff; there were only a few of them left to begin with.

When the deal was done, Frank reached out his hand, and Will shook it.

"Congratulations on a successful deal. I just hope you treat the staff well and take the company to a level I could never do."

Frank said a bit emotionally, and Will just smiled and said,

"thank you. I'll make sure of that."

***

"What's going on? Did Chairman Frank finally decide to sell the company?"

"What's gonna happen to us? Are we gonna get fired now?"

"I don't think Chairman Frank will accept a deal where we'll be unemployed."

Krown Studios employees had gathered outside the hall, which was near the meeting room, as they chatted amongst themselves. An atmosphere of anxiety and uncertainty surrounded them as a handsome young man walked out of the meeting room and said.

"Hello, everybody. I'm the new owner of the company, Will Evans."
