The My Hollywood System

The My Hollywood System
Chapter 73

3 May 2011.

The film [17 Again] was ready for release, and the distribution company decided that the film would be released on May 10. The promotion went smoothly, and most of the general audience had already heard about the film or watched its trailer on various social media platforms and MeTube.

They even did an OTT deal.

The marketing team has made a main cast, attending various talk shows and reality shows, and, even using Will's name in every promotion and even asking Will to do an interview as they try to squeeze out Will's every popularity for the film.

Will has agreed to all of this as it will have a win-win effect both for his image and his film. And he himself wanted the film to go well. The box office estimate is $40 million for the first week alone, which means that they will be able to break even and recover movie costs.

The final box office estimate is around $120 million, and Will feels that the film will easily get that much, but the amount after that is unpredictable. Since Edward only wanted to make a profit, every penny after the break-even point would be considered a win for him.

The hype about [17 Again] from the audience was somewhat one-sided. People who love Rom-com are looking forward to it coming out, while many people criticize it as an absurd and wish-fulfillment movie. Which Will can not deny, because this is a wish fulfillment film, but it is well made.

Today, after waking up and refreshing himself, Will did not go to Dream Vision Studios and instead went elsewhere. He had taken a break from work today and had different plans for the day.

She heads to a theater booked for small budget film auditions by several B-class directors.

Since she returned to Los Angeles, June has not picked up her phone, and there has been no contact for several days. He was clearly trying to avoid it. Will gets his current location by using his connections in MCA when they tell him that June has auditioned with his agent.

After approaching the theater, Will parked his car outside and got out of the car. As he headed for the theater, the crowd around him began to grow as people recognized him. Most of them were actors and staff members of the director's team, and they started whispering amongst themselves.

As the commotion began to escalate, Will decided to ignore it and went inside, but he heard a familiar voice calling out to him which made him stop.

"Will you?"

Will turns around and sees John, agent June. He was surprised to see Will here, but soon, his expression changed from surprised to conscious when he saw Will's worried expression.

"John's? Where's June?"

Will asked, to which John responded.

"She's currently auditioning."

"Then I'll wait for him." Will frowned and said. She has decided to meet June today by any means, and she will.

"I don't think you should wait here. The paparazzi will be here at any time if you keep standing here."

After news of Will's second film being shot, the paparazzi and the media paid extra attention to him and his every move. So it would be a bad idea to wait for June here; there would be all sorts of rumors and speculations just related to her relationship with June, forget about the relationship with the director who auditioned.

"If you still want to wait for him. We can go to the nearest cafe, and you can talk about it with June when she's done. I understand you're uncomfortable because she ignored you recently."

John advised. She no longer opposes Will and June's relationship and considers Will as someone who can bring about change in Hollywood; for that particular reason, she is, he was very careful with June and every single thing related to Will.

"How did you know that June ignored me? As far as I know, he won't say this to anyone."

Will asked curiously and raised his eyes, to which John only smiled and said.

"It's my job to take care of my artist, and I'll fail in my job if I don't even realize that the artist below me is in trouble."

***

In a nearby cafeteria, Will and John are sitting opposite when John orders a cappuccino for the two of them.

"What's up with June? He didn't pick up my phone at all, so I didn't know even if I wanted to."

Will asked, his chin resting on both of his hands.

*results*

John sighed and started telling Will everything.

"June's been very depressed lately."

"What?" Will was silent for a moment, "Why? Did something happen?"

"Well, how should I say it .. um, let me be frank about this. I think he has a sense of inferiority."

Will frowned, and even though he understood the context, he still asked.

"From what I've heard, you're directing a big movie and already getting the company. Although [The Blair Witch Project] helped June in her career, it really wasn't a too big boost. In addition [17 Again], the only good role he gets in a movie, which is also possible because of your help. So...”

'So he felt left out ...'

Will finished John's sentence in his mind. Thas right. Will doesn't pay much attention to June for having a job and being abroad, but it only makes him feel the gap between them more and more, and now he is in a phase where he doubts his own abilities and conflicts with that question.that he deserves Will with how he is at the moment?

Although Will himself would never say anything, it could not be said about the people and the media. Sooner or later, questions will arise as to whether or not he just bullied Will and became a gold digger even though he knew Will since he had almost nothing.

"Have you read what the tabloids have written about you and him lately?"

John asked suddenly, and Will shook his head. From his pocket, he took out a crumpled piece of paper.

He gave it to Will, and he was shocked after seeing it.

'Will Evans and June Roberts - How much longer will the relationship last?'

Will read the article in his mind and could not help but feel angry.

The article compared their relationship to other famous relationships in Hollywood that mostly ended in a breakup after an engagement or marriage.

It also shows how June is not even a B-class actress. Instead of an article, it feels like an attack.

As Will threw away the magazine, John frowned again.

"June is a proud man. He is happy for your success, and I have even seen him pray for it, but it is inevitable that he will feel left behind. His career moves slowly, and your career just moves like a bullet train. You can understand how she feels, right?"

Will slowly nodded his head, hearing those words.

It's not like there's a problem with him. He's an anomaly here.

"It's my fault. Purely mine. I should've tried to focus on him." He muttered, almost in a tone that said he was angry at himself. "Is this the reason why he looks so weak lately?"

"Yes, he has auditioned one after another. He has been preparing for different roles every day, hoping to at least get a better role. Therefore, his health was very poor, and he didn't even eat much."

Another wrinkle formed on Will's face. But John is not finished.

"Yesterday, a producer asked her if she could get an investment from you. They don't say it right away, but basically they say that if you get an investment from your girlfriend, we'll give you a role. That's the worst behavior, but it's like in the movie circles of grades B and C."

In Hollywood, there's a circle for everyone, and June still hasn't made it into A-class circles, and because John doesn't have a lot of resources, he could only get his audition in this type of film.

It's not like the movies are bad. Many of them will sometimes be a sleep hit, but the atmosphere is certainly not very good.

"Thank you for telling me all this, John. This is very helpful."

"No problem. I just feel like you should talk to him."

"I will."

As Will says that, he suddenly sees June entering the cafe. He stood up as he watched her.

"Jun, how did you know I was here?" Johan was a little surprised.

"I heard a commotion, and some actors said that they saw you here, so I looked around."

He said with eyes glancing at John, asking what he said to Will. But he intentionally did not look at her.

Seeing this, Will sighed before grabbing his arm and walking to the door.

"Will, what are you doing?"

"Let's get out of here."

"But I have to wait for audition—"

June stopped talking as Will turned around all of a sudden. He smiled at her before sighing.

"John will handle all that. It's been a long time since I've seen you, and I want to spend time with you."
