Chapter 21 Friendship

Tania and Velicia shook hands. They threw each other a smile accompanying the department of their hands.

"Can we be friends with Velicia?" tania asked after their handshake was released.

Velicia smiled as she nodded in agreement to answer Tania's question. Then he said,

"Oh yeah, are you new to the area?" 

"Yes, I just moved to this area together with my husband," Tania replied with a smile on Velicia.

Then he looked back at the children in front of him. Tania's lips curled upwards when she saw the little children in front of her acting funny with her friend.

"It seems like you like small children," Velicia said as she watched Tania's smiling face as she looked at Velicia's students playing in front of them.

Tania smiled bitterly at the question from Velicia. Then without looking at Velicia he replied,

"Yes right. It feels like seeing them can reduce my sadness."

Velicia scrunched her forehead, it seemed like she felt Tania was as fateful as him. Unwilling to guess, Velicia again asked Tania.

"Is there anything that makes you sad? You can tell me if you don't mind. But if you mind, I won't force you."

The bell sounded as an entry sign for the children. 

"Mother.Mother." said some children who ran towards Velicia and hugged her.

Velicia laughed and gave her hand to kiss the back of her hand by all of them.

The happy laughter of Velicia and the children who were very happy with Velicia made Tania look envious at them.

He wanted to feel the same way as Velicia felt.

"Kids..e all lined up first huh..," cried Velicia while smiling cheerfully at them all.

Velicia's body was still a little limp. But his passion for teaching and meeting his students made his condition even better.

Velicia was about to step away from Tania, but she said goodbye to Tania earlier.

"I have to teach first."

"Velicia, I don't have children yet" said Tania, who tried to stop Velicia and tried to keep her new friend from getting angry at her for not answering her question.

Velicia turned back towards Tania. Then he smiled and said,

"Ve, just call me Ve. And I'm the same as you. So don't be sad about it."

Tania was stunned to hear Velicia's words. He scrunched his forehead because he felt that what he heard couldn't possibly be the same as what Velicia meant.

She saw the figure of Velicia who was so motherly that the children liked her so much.

"You mean..," the question that Tania was about to ask was floating because she was hesitant to say it.

Velicia smiled at Tania and she nodded her head at Tania who felt Velicia knew what she meant.

Tania was silent, she did not believe what she heard and saw. A beautiful woman who behaves very motherly turns out to be the same as him, he has not had children.

"Mother.Mother Velicia..," exclaimed a child who called out to Velicia from where they were marching this last.

Velicia turned to the direction that called out to her. Then he turned back to Tania while saying,

Tania nodded and invited Velicia to work. While he was still there watching Velicia teach the children.

"It is very different from me who every day met with students" Tania said with a bitter smile.

He found it more interesting to teach Kindergarten children than students who do not have funny behavior like Kindergarten children in front of him at this time.

There was no boss he noticed Valecia who was teaching the kindergarten children. Until time passed, Tania was still there.

I don't know why he felt like getting close to Velicia. Maybe because they have not been given children, so Tania felt she could easily tell him.

While the children were taking a break to eat their food, Tania approached Velicia to talk to her.

"Ve, can we talk to you for a second?" tanya Tania who was already near Velicia.

Velicia smiled and nodded her head in response to the question Tania had asked her.

Tania sat next to Velicia. He looked at the Velicia disciples who were eating their provisions with great joy. 

"My husband and I have been married for about a year. And we have still not been given any offspring to date" Tania said without turning to Velicia who was sitting next to her.

Velicia was stunned and turned towards Tania as she told Velicia about her household matters.

Velicia was silent, but she was still watching Tania. He had not commented anything as he waited for Tania to finish her story first.

According to Velicia her current position was only a loyal listener because Tania had not asked for her opinion, so Velicia did not dare to make any comments to her.

"When I walked home after driving my husband to work in the area around here, I saw this school was very fun. The sound of screaming and the happy laughter of the children brought my footsteps to this place," said Tania who was still looking at the children with a smile.

Velicia was still silently listening to Tania's story without giving the slightest comment.

"I really wanted the presence of children in our marriage. But. for some reason it seemed like it was heavy," Tania reconnected her story.

A while later Tania asked Velicia,

"What about you Ve?"

Velicia smiled at the question Tania had given her.

"I'm not much different from you. Even my burden is heavier than yours," Velicia replied with a bitter smile recalling the recent events.

Tania turned her head to the side, she looked questioningly at Velicia who was sitting next to her and looked at her.

"You mean..," Tania hung up her sentence for hesitating to continue.

"My mother-in-law was very frustrated because we had no children. And you should know Tania, we've been married for five years. Can you imagine not how it feels as long as we as women have not been blessed with a child and crave the presence of children in our small family," velicia said with a bitter smile to see Tania who looked shocked to hear the story.

"So, I really understand how you feel right now Tania, because I think my story is heavier than yours," Velicia said with a chuckle.

Tania held onto both of Velicia's hands and stared into her bead of eyes. Then he said,

"That's because I don't have Ve's in-laws. My husband was an orphan left behind by his parents since childhood."

Velicia smiled bitterly at the words from Velicia. She recalls her own story when Tania told her husband's life story.

"What about your parents Tania? Did they push you too?" velicia asked as she stared intently at Tania's eyes.

Tania smiled at Velicia's question. Then he chuckled while saying,

"Actually they also want the presence of our grandchildren. But.how else, God has not given us descendants. So how else?"
