Chapter 55 The feeling of loss

The doctor immediately examined Lili, but unfortunately Lili could not survive anymore. He died while being examined. 

Velicia's cry broke. He felt that he had abandoned Lili whom he had been taking care of after quite some time.

He doesn't hate Lili. Even he likes the presence of Lili because he can be entertained when he is alone. 

However, when her husband came, Lili's position replaced him. Even sometimes she was jealous when her husband was more pampering Lili than her who was only made like a maid who took care of their house.

"Lili... Lili? How's he doing?" exclaimed Ferdi when he entered the veterinary clinic.

Velicia turned towards the door and her crying grew even more when she saw her husband was already there.

"What happened Mother? Where is Lili? " asked Ferdi in a panic.

Velicia could only cry, she was speechless. There was nothing he could say because he felt so guilty.

"Mother, tell me, where's Lili? What's going on?" Ferdi again asked as he moved roughly Velicia's arm.

Velicia's cry grew increasingly awkward being treated that way by Ferdi. Even the doctor who was inside was cleaning up Lili's body immediately came out to hear the commotion caused by Ferdi and Velicia.

"What's this?" ask the veterinarian.

"Lili, where's Lili doc? How's he doing?" ferdi asked the doctor without answering the doctor's questions addressed to him and Velicia.

 "Sorry sir, your cat cannot be saved" the doctor replied as he opened the door of his examination room.

In the room saw Lili lying on the examination bed. Ferdi quickly walked up to Lili. And she cried while rubbing the very fine and soft lili fur.

Velicia felt terribly guilty seeing her husband cry over the lifeless Lili again. In his heart he said,

Looks like I'm wrong. I can't take good care of Lili. Maybe that's why Mas Ferdi wasn't sure if I could take care of our son, so he didn't trust me yet and didn't want my son.

Ferdi rubbed his tears violently. Then she held Lili and took her out with her sobs. Velicia paid for Lili's treatment before she left the clinic.

Velicia was now completely afraid of her husband and she hesitated to approach him. She walked behind her husband with her guilt.

Ferdi did not look back though. She dissolves into her grief at the loss of Lili, the kitten she adopted some time ago.

With a feeling of sadness that Ferdi carried Lili until they reached their home.

Without changing his clothes, Ferdi immediately buried Lilies in their yard. 

With that flat face of hers she ignored Velicia who had always been nearby, accompanying her and helping her when burying Lilies.

After he had buried Lili. Ferdi just kept quiet as if he did not see Velicia who was loyal to him earlier.

He was busy with his own sadness and thoughts without thinking and paying attention to his wife who was as sad as he was.

Even Velicia had always blamed herself for Lili's passing. He was always sad when he saw Lili's tableware, Lili's sandbox and the bed that Lili usually used.

Velicia could neither protest nor be angry at her husband. He felt himself to be the cause of everything. The cause of Lili's death and the cause of her husband's grief.

Finally tonight Velicia slept alone in her room. She posted a photo of Lili on her social media story. And in just a matter of seconds there is an incoming message commenting on his story upload.

Velicia's lips curled upwards, she smiled at the message that Raymond had apparently sent.

What is Lili? The cat you've been caring for all this time?

Velicia's heart was delighted, only that she was hesitant to reply to the message. He had promised himself to avoid any sense that might develop deep in his heart. 

He was afraid that he would fall in love with Raymond. He knew the feeling was wrong.

He was married and Raymond married. They both have a partner. So, could Velicia shake off that taste?

I-i can. I should be able to. It's wrong, I can't do this. I should be able to stop this feeling before this feeling develops too far, Velicia said in her heart.

He placed the phone on a table beside his bed without replying to a message from Raymond.

He closed both eyes, hoping he would fall asleep quickly and hope tomorrow will be a better day than today that drains his thoughts and feelings.

Raymond looked at his cell phone screen. He was waiting for a reply from Velicia. I don't know why he sent that message to Velicia. Though very loudly he stopped himself from thinking or approaching Velicia.

He was well aware of her position and Velicia's position. He realized that the feeling shouldn't be between them. 

However, his heart could not be prevented. His heart at Velicia felt something different to his wife's. Even he was more comfortable together with Velicia compared to Tania, his wife.

Conscious Raymond, aware. Be aware. He already has a husband and you already have a wife, Raymond commemorates himself in his heart.

"Darling, why haven't you slept? Waiting for me again, right? Sorry I was last night. I don't go home every day at this hour. It happened that they were taking me to dinner. You've had dinner, haven't you?" tania said while embracing Raymond's back who was sitting from behind.

Raymond nodded his head. No matter what he felt, he did not feel angry or upset at his wife. She knew if it was possible because she had not fully loved Tania.

"Tania, are we leaving tomorrow to register our marriage?" asked Raymond hesitantly.

Tania let go of her embrace and she walked around to be in front of her husband.

"Why is it too rushed? For me our marriage is legal in front of religion even though our marriage has not been registered in KUA. Are you worried that I'll cheat? Take it easy, I will not have an affair even though many men approach me" Tania said with a proud smile at Raymond.

Raymond looked at Tania with an indecipherable look. He is confused by his own feelings. Either he had to be happy because his wife did not want to legalize their marriage or because he was not sure of his heart that could hold back the feeling of meeting Velicia.

All he knew now was that he had tried his best so that he and his heart would not go wrong. 

He wanted to certify their marriage in KUA so that there was a fortress blocking the taste of Velicia. Unfortunately, his wife did not want to work with him.

I don't know what will happen to her feelings. He would still try to hold back his feelings, only that he would never know the outcome.

Hopefully me and Velicia can both resist this feeling from developing any further, Raymond said in his heart.
