Chapter 33 The meaning of waiting

Arriving at the clinic where Velicia was treated, Lani immediately headed to the ER room. There he received treatment for his minor injuries and the doctor did an examination for complaints of his illness.

"Nothing serious. The patient is just having the common cold sir. I will prescribe the medicine so that the patient can recover quickly. As long as the medicine is taken regularly, it will definitely heal quickly," the doctor told Ferdi.

"Good doc. Thank you" said Ferdi, nodding his head as the doctor left.

"Sir, help dong" said Lani, holding out her hand to expect help from Ferdi.

"You only have the flu, don't be spoiled" Ferdi said without accepting Lani's helping hand.

Lani's cheeks puffed up and her face pouted hearing Ferdi's words. Just now he was happy because Ferdi would rather go to him than accompany his ailing wife at the clinic. Now Ferdi's attitude is back as usual. And that made Lani upset.

"You can do it yourself, right? I'm going to my wife's room" Ferdi said before turning around to leave the ER room.

Immediately Lani got off the patient bed and walked following Ferdi.

Suddenly a nurse stopped them by blocking Ferdi right in front of him while saying,

"I'm sorry, you have to pay the bills before the patient leaves the clinic."

Ferdi looked back and he was surprised that there was already Lani behind him with a big smile.

"Trush your payment at the cashier. You can still walk, right? I must have been waiting for is-"

"Please pay first sir. I'll change the money tomorrow."

Lani quickly interrupts Ferdi's words so as not to issue the wife's word in front of the nurse.

Ferdi sighed, he felt always bothered by Lani. But however much Lani bothered her, she never refused Lani's request and strangely she always agreed to it.

Ferdi turned to the nurse and said,

"Where does it pay?"

"There sir, let me drop off" said the nurse, pointing to the cashier.

Ferdi and Lani follow the nurse to pay for Lani's treatment.

After Ferdi paid at the cashier, he immediately walked towards his wife's room without responding to a call from Lani.

He walked without looking to the right and to the left. He felt that later his wife would be angry with him for leaving him too long.

Chequek! 

The door to Velicia's room opened. Suddenly Velicia who was unable to sleep because of anxiety at her husband immediately turned to the door.

"Mas Ferdi! Where have Ferdi been? Why so long? Where's the drink?" Velicia flocked Ferdi with a few questions that indicated her anxiety.

"Sorry, I was -"

"Excuse me, sorry I interfered. I just want to meet my dad's wife."

Suddenly, a woman interrupts Ferdi's conversation with Velicia.

Ferdi's eyes widened to see Lani enter the room and impudently spoke without asking her permission first.

"La-Lani?! What the hell are you here for? Didn't you go home?" ferdi asked Lani who was surprised at his sudden arrival.

"Not Sir. It's night. Can I stay here?" lani asked with a big smile on Ferdi.

Velicia was flabbergasted to hear the conversation between the two of them, her husband discussing about the return of the woman as if he knew the time of his return. In Velicia's heart cursing at her husband,

"Who is it?" velicia asked with all her might to contain her anger.

"He-"

"I'm Lani Bu. We met before at the dinner at lunch a few days ago" said Lani quickly interjected Ferdi.

Ferdi closed his eyes while sighing. In her heart, she regrets that her stupidity has led Lani to the clinic.

I shouldn't have let him come with me here. I forgot that he was very brave and reckless.

Velicia's heart was very sick. His clenched hands held back his anger and his tears welled up in his eyes.

However, in her heart she laughed at her stupidity and worried for her husband to the point that he endured his extreme drowsiness due to the effects of the drugs he was taking.

"Where's my drink? From that moment I waited for you to thirst" Velicia said in a stifled voice withstanding her grief.

Ferdi handed the black plastic bag to Velicia. 

Velicia received the plastic bag and took out a large bottle of mineral water.

Velicia's forehead shriveled to see that the mineral water bottle contained only three-quarters of the bottle. He looked in wonder at the bottle while saying,

"Why do we only live this way? Did Ferdi drink it?" 

"That-"

"Sorry Mom, I drank it. I forgot to replace it. Though at the time I came here already intend to buy it outside," Lani interrupted Ferdi's remark.

Velicia's blood seemed to boil hearing what was said by Lani, the woman who according to Velicia was the affair of Ferdi, her husband.

Velicia let go of the bottle because of shock, until the bottle fell to the floor.

"Ve, the drink"

"Throw away. I don't want to" Velicia said tightly and her voice trembled interrupting Ferdi's words.

Again Ferdi sighed. He would have never expected that he would be in such a state.

"I'll buy you Mom. I'm sorry I forgot to replace it" Lani said without a shudder.

Feeling no response from Velicia, Lani immediately walked out of the room to buy Velicia a drink.

Ferdi approached Velicia who was on her back.

"Ve, Mommy, sorry, she called me for help when I bought you a drink. He was in an accident" Ferdi said, holding his wife's shoulder.

Velicia threw Ferdi's hand on her shoulder. Then he rubbed the tears that carelessly came out even though he had been held as hard as he could.

"You ran up to him immediately when he called you and told you he was in an accident? As for me, your legal wife here desperately needs you and is waiting for you from now on. Hufffftttt. I did not expect Mas, you could leave me only for the sake of a woman who is nobody you. Is he your affair, Mas?" velicia said with a trembling voice and her tears dripped back as she said all of her heart.

Painful, very painful for Velicia. Everything he does feels free.

"Ve, you're wrong. I didn't mean it that way. And I'm not cheating" Ferdi said firmly.

"Then what? Even the drinks you bought for me you easily gave to him and the rest you gave me? Is that a husband who puts his wife first?" With a loud and vibrating voice Velicia answered her husband's words.

"Ve, it's just a drink problem. He was shocked by the accident. I had to give you that drink. And I'm sorry, I forgot to buy it for you again" Ferdi said as he stared soulfully at his wife.

"What is your relationship with him?" asked Velicia in flames.
