Chapter 49 Comforting yourself

"Huffft..," Velicia sighed with lips that quivered from her cries.

"Sorry Ray, I wet your clothes with my tears" Velicia said in a trembling voice and smiled bitterly at Raymond.

Raymond smiled and shook his head in response to the apology from Velicia.

"It's okay Ve. I hope you're relieved to cry and tell me. If there is anything I can help you with, I will definitely help you" Raymond said with a smile that calmed Velicia's heart.

Velicia's chest was still very sore, but having Raymond by her side could make her a little relieved.

I don't know why Raymond could calm Velicia's heart. Maybe because Raymond's calm and caring nature made Velicia become calmer and very comfortable with him.

"Thank you Ray. You are indeed a good friend and always reliable," Velicia said with a smile on Raymond.

Raymond returned a smile from Velicia and she said,

"That's what Ve's for. Therefore you must share your story with me, so that I can help you."

Velicia simply smiled in response to Raymond's words to her. He did not dare to promise Raymond because he was afraid that he would not be able to keep it.

"Have you healed Ve?" raymond asked with an intense stare at Velicia's bead eyes.

Velicia smiled bitterly in response to the question Raymond had given her. Then he said,

"This is what Ray is like. You can guess it yourself."

Raymond looked compassionately at the woman before him. Her beautiful face now contained tears that had flooded her face.

However, he could not do much to help her because their relationship was only limited to friends who had to respect each other's privacy.

"Where are you going now?" ask Raymond then.

Velicia smiled bitterly while shaking her head. She really didn't know where to go because she didn't want to go home feeling lonely and reminding her of her husband. But he also could not go to work under such circumstances. 

"How about we go to the beach. It's only about an hour's drive from here" said Raymond, who tried to comfort Velicia.

Velicia's forehead frowned and she looked at Raymond with a look of disbelief. Then he said,

"Don't you have to work Ray?"

Raymond chuckled at the question from Velicia. It was funny for him to see the expression of the woman before him at this moment.

"It's too late Ve" Raymond said, showing the circular watch in his right hand to Velicia.

"Oh sorry. How about this, because of me you got late and didn't go to work. I'm sorry Ray. How do I replace it?" velicia said with a regretful face.

Raymond again chuckled at Velicia's current expression. Then he said,

"No need Ve. Today I have no actual teaching hours. It's just that I'd rather be at school than be home alone."

Velicia's forehead frowned again at Raymond's words. Then he asked what he had in mind.

"on your own? Isn't there your wife Ray?"

Raymond smiled faintly at the question from Velicia. It would be funny if he told me about his family. But it didn't feel fair if she didn't tell him because Velicia had already told him so much.

"My wife is busy" Raymond said with a faint smile.

"Oh so," Velicia said with a stiff smile at Raymond.

"We've been married for almost five years. We just lived together for a year. After that he continued his studies abroad for three years. And it has been a few months since he returned to Indonesia, but we remain separated because of different cities. He came here this time for only a few days and will return to his city because of his work" Raymond said, smiling bitterly and looking straight ahead.

Velicia was shocked to hear Raymond's account of the fact of her household. It turns out that who experienced the bitterness of the household was not only him, Raymond also experienced it. It's just that the problems they face are different.

Raymond smiled at Velicia. And he nodded his head approving of what Velicia had told him.

"How about, are we going for a walk or just going home?" raymond asked with a sweet smile that was able to make Velicia fester.

"If I say go to the beach, do you want Ray?" velicia asked softly as she looked at Raymond and gave her feet a smile.

"I didn't offer you to go to the beach?" said Raymond, chuckling.

Velicia also chuckled and she nodded her head confirming what Raymond had told her.

"Okay Ve, let's go now" said Raymond, rising from his seat.

Velicia got up from her seat and walked beside Raymond to the bus stop across the street.

On the bus, they sat side by side like a traveling couple. 

"Do you want to listen to music?" velicia asked Raymond while thrusting one side of her headset.

Raymond nodded his head while smiling at Velicia. Then he took the headset and put it on his ear.

The two of them enjoyed the music coming from Velicia's phone by sharing Velicia's headset.

Arriving at the intended beach, they both smiled happily because the beach at that time was very quiet. There's only the two of them there.

"Sepi ya Ray, so it's more comfortable here," said Velicia while removing her high heels.

Raymond watched Velicia's shoes and he said,

"Ve, isn't it uncomfortable to wear shoes like that?" 

Velicia looked at the shoes she was carrying at the moment. Then he smiled and said,

"How else Ray, demands the job."

"Next time you have to wear comfortable shoes. Your high-heeled shoes just keep them in your workplace and wear them while you're at work" Raymond said, staring into Velicia's eyes.

Suddenly Velicia was nervous and as if hypnotized by Raymond's eyes, she nodded her head in approval to Raymond's suggestion.

"It's good if you follow my advice. Now let's play Ve's waves" said Raymond, pulling Velicia's hand and taking her to run by the beach.

They both chase on the beach and play water by splashing water.

After that Raymond took Velicia and invited her to play the waves. They are happy to chase with the waves. Until they are tired and sit under a coconut tree that is on the beach.

It does not feel like time passes quickly when they are there and can momentarily forget their household problems.

A very beautiful view is beginning to be seen. The setting sun made both of their eyes dazzle.

The quiet atmosphere with beautiful scenery, as well as the pounding waves accompanying the sunset made Velicia and Raymond drift in the atmosphere.

Over time the faces of the two of them approached each other and they both closed their eyes. 

Raymond's hands were on both of Velicia's arms and both of Velicia's hands were coiled around Raymond's neck.

Without them knowing their lips meet each other. With eyes closed to each other, their lips stuck together.

Suddenly the sound of waves awakened the two people. Their eyes were open to each other and they were both pulling their lips.

Their lips that just stick it makes them misbehave each other. But they realize that they are both carried away by the atmosphere until they are not aware that their lips meet each other.
