Chapter 57 The wedding ring that bears witness

"Back work Ve?" raymond asked trying to dilute the atmosphere and eliminate the awkward situation between them.

Velicia smiled faintly and shook her head. Then his gaze returned to the children who were playing together.

Raymond sat down next to Velicia. He also often sees children playing. His heart was calm. 

They both seem to like children. They both have no children from their marriage.

They both sat and watched the children playing in the playground.

"They're funny?" velicia asked with a bitter smile to see the children playing.

Raymond turned towards Velicia who was beside him, then he turned back towards the front where the children were playing together.

"Their smiles and laughter as a cure for the fatigue of adults like us. And their smiles and laughter can rub off on us so we smile and laugh with them" Raymond replied in response to a question from Velicia to him.

Velicia smiled faintly hearing what Raymond said. In his heart he said,

If Mas Ferdi had a mind like you Ray, I would have been here to accompany my son to play with his friends.

Raymond looked at the circular clock on his right hand. Then he looked back at the children playing. His face showed excitement.

"Mmm... Ve, aren't you coming home? It's almost evening now" asked Raymond hesitantly.

It turned out that Raymond was upset because he did not have the heart to leave Velicia alone in the garden.

He had received a message from his wife if they were going to have dinner with his wife.

Raymond now seems to be between two choices. Choose to go home immediately because of his dinner appointment with his wife or stay in the park to accompany Velicia.

"I don't want to go home, Ray. I want to take a moment away from my life," Velicia replied with a bitter smile at Raymond.

Raymond looked pityfully at Velicia. He knew that Velicia was having a problem. 

With a steady mind, Raymond remained in that place to accompany the sad Velicia.

It would be insensitive if Velicia did not know Raymond's nervousness. He understood that it was possible that Raymond was there because of him, because he wanted to accompany him.

"Ray, go home first. I know if you want to go home now. Come home, Ray, I'll be fine. I'll go home when the kids are quiet, go home to their homes, respectively," Velicia said as she looked into Raymond's eyes.

Velicia's gaze made Raymond even less willing to leave her. Raymond stood up from his seat and he stretched out his right hand whose ring finger coiled his wedding ring.

Velicia stared at the fingers of Raymond who was wearing their wedding ring. His heart felt like it was pinched when he saw it.

But somehow Velicia's right hand received Raymond's helping hand.

With each other throwing smiles Velicia stood up from her seat and walked while holding hands with Raymond.

"Ve, we'll take a little shelter here. Are you cold?" raymond said as he looked at Velicia's body by twirling Velicia's body.

Velicia chuckled at Raymond who was agitated at her. Then he said,

"Look down, Ray, you know I like the rain. So don't worry about me. I'm even more afraid that you'll get sick from the rain."

Raymond took off the suit he was wearing and placed it over the heads of the two of them to prepare to cover the heads of both of them.

"Let's get in the rain" said Raymond, smiling happily at Velicia.

Raymond's happy smile was contagious to Velicia. She smiled happily as she nodded in agreement to Raymond's invitation to her.

"One. two. three." said Raymond to calculate their running preparation.

With happiness they both ran small in the rain with a coat that belonged to Raymond.

Their happy laughter seemed as if there was no burden in their lives. And their happiness makes their minds and hearts happier and their sadness is gone instantly.

"Where are you raining like that?" ferdi asked as Velicia entered their house in a slightly wet state.

"You're rained on, honey? Why did you just come home anyway? You should have gone home before the rain so as not to rain," Tania said when welcoming Raymond into the house with a slightly wet condition.
