Chapter 27 Calm before the storm

Ferdi was shocked to hear his mother's words. It never occurred to him if Velicia, his wife was pregnant at this moment.

Is Velicia pregnant? Is that why he was vomiting? Ferdi said in his heart.

He thought for a moment and he realized that Velicia was waiting for him to bring her a warm drink.

Immediately he walked towards his room so that his wife would not wait for him for too long.

Ferdi placed the glass on the table near his bed. Then he tried to wake his wife up to drink the warm drink he had just made.

"Honey.Mother. Drink it first yes," said Ferdi while rubbing Velicia's hair to wake her up.

Velicia's eyes opened little by little. His body still looks very weak. His face still looks a little pale.

"Diminum first yes," said Ferdi while helping Velicia sit and lean on the headboard.

Velicia drank the drink bit by bit. Then he said,

"Mas, please get my medicine in my bag."

According to Ferdi, he took some medicine that was in Velicia's bag.

"This is the cure" Ferdi said as he gave the medicine to Velicia.

Velicia received the medicine and took it. Then he said,

"Mas, I'm going to bed first. Please wake me up later so I don't get late for work."

Ferdi nodded his head in approval to his wife's request.

"alright. Now sleep well" said Ferdi, confirming the blanket covering Velicia's body.

After seeing Velicia close her eyes, she sat on the sofa and recalled the events of last night as they were pitting love spending their night.

Ferdi smiled as he felt happy after so long they had not spent their night like that. Usually they just do it normally and there is no satisfaction like last night.

Then he again laid his body next to Velicia. Just as he closed his eyes, suddenly a notification sound came from Ferdi's phone.

He took his phone from the table beside his bed. Ferdi's forehead frowned when he saw the name of the sender of the message printed on the screen of his phone.

 Lani, the intern who always tried to get close to him, now sends him a message.

Sir, I'm sick now. I'm not going to work today. Can you take the time to visit me at home? I'm alone Sir, can you come see me?

Ferdi just read it without intending to reply. Then he returned to lay his body next to his wife.

Sometime later, the alarm from Velicia's phone rang to wake Ferdi up.

Ferdi looked at his phone that did not sound an alarm, then he saw Velicia's phone from where it was currently on and made an alarm sound.

He tried to reach the phone but nil, his efforts were not successful. Velicia's phone was on a table near Velicia's side bed.

"Mother. Ve, that's your alarm going off," said Ferdi as he woke Velicia with a slight shake of her body.

"Hmmm..," Velicia murmured as her hand grabbed her phone that was on the table next to her.

Velicia's eyes opened slightly to see the clock on her phone screen and turned off her phone's alarm.

He tried to sit down to gather his strength before he got off his bed.

His stomach still feels a little pain when standing from his seat. After he walked towards the bathroom, the pain disappeared.

It seems like I have been able to react, Velicia said in her heart.

Inside the bathroom, she felt her body was extremely cold, even she shivered as the water flushed her body.

He immediately put on his towel and changed into thicker clothes. 

"Mas.. Mas Ferdi. Take a quick shower before Mom calls us out" said Velicia, shaking Ferdi's arm to wake up.

Ferdi's eyes opened and he hurriedly walked towards the bathroom. While Velicia usually prepares everything that Ferdi wears to work, ranging from outer and inner clothes, pants, ties, suits and socks.

After a while, Ferdi came out and put on what his wife had prepared.

It turned out that Velicia was no longer in the room. She was already in the kitchen making warm drinks for herself and making coffee for her husband.

Ms. Anisa had finished cooking and she had already arranged all the food for their breakfast on the dining table.

"Sorry Mom, I was not feeling well, so I took a short nap to get more activity" Velicia said in an apology.

"It's okay. Quickly eat and do not forget to take herbal medicine as usual," said Bu Anisa while arranging dishes for the three of them.

Herbal remedies? Ah...why is it that in my stomach like this that herbal medicine is back? Can't I just turn it down just once? But, will you accept my refusal? Hahaha... You think you can Ve? Velicia said in her heart and laughed at her current state.

"Mom's Eve" said Ferdi after being near the dining table.

"You two eat a lot so that your energy quickly recovers and can do the night again" said Bu Anisa while putting rice on her plate.

Ferdi and Velicia looked at each other. Their minds were fixed on last night's incident.

Did Mom hear that? Velicia asked in her heart.

Ferdi just smiled and ate his food leisurely. For him it does not matter if his mother hears their activities at night because they have become husband and wife. And according to Ferdi his mother must be happy because her mother really wants grandchildren from them.

After they ate, Velicia helped clean the dining table. When she was going to help wash the dishes she was stopped by her mother-in-law.

"Let me wash it. Better now you just drink herbal medicine in the refrigerator," said Bu Anisa while turning off the tap water to be used by Velicia washing dishes.

Velicia could not resist anymore, she immediately took the herbal medicine from the fridge and drank it even though she did not like it.

"Ferdi, you also do not forget to take your herbal medicine every night. Remember yes, drink it only when going to sleep," said Bu Anisa while washing their used tableware breakfast earlier.

"Yes, yes." answered Ferdi lazily.

Actually she was the same as Velicia, they both did not like taking the herbal medicine. But they must force to drink it so that their lives are safe from Bu Anisa's nagging.

Velicia withstood all her nausea while taking the herbal medicine. He forced the medicine to get into his stomach.

"Mom, I go to work first. Do you want to go home with Ve?" velicia asked after successfully taking a pack of herbal medicine that Bu Anisa had brought for her.

"You go first. Let me clean up your house. After that I will go home alone," replied Ms. Anisa while putting the kitchen utensils after washing.

"Alright, then we leave first Ma'am," said Velicia while kissing the back of Ms. Anisa's hand.

"Ferdi left first Ma'am" said Ferdi while kissing the back of Anisa's hand.

After that, the two of them walked out of the house together.

"Here Mas tie I neaten," said Velicia while facing Ferdi when they were in the yard of their house.

Ferdi also according. He smiled at his wife. This is what he wants every day. There was no quarrel between them.

"It's done. Ve left first, Mas. Mas Ferdi was careful on the road" Velicia said, kissing the back of her husband's hand.

"You are also careful, yes" said Ferdi to release the departure of Velicia.

They take a different direction. Velicia to the right and Ferdi to the left. 

Velicia walked as usual, down the sidewalk the road leading to her workplace. Suddenly his stomach hurt so much that he let out his tears and squatted down to endure the already unbearable pain.

"Ve! Velicia! Be aware! Ve!"
