Chapter 36 Good friends

Velicia looked at the mistress Ferdi who seemed to object to the examination with an obstetrician recommended by the doctor.

"Why Mas? Ferdi doesn't like us having kids? Did Mas Ferdi want to have a daughter from that gatel girl?" velicia said sarcastically.

"Ve! Watch what you say! I'm not that low," exclaimed Ferdi denying what Velicia had accused him of.

Velicia smiled cynically at Ferdi's self-defense. He was amused by Ferdi's attitude as if he really wasn't having an affair.

I actually saw you bribes at lunch Mas, still you can dodge. You think I'm stupid? Velicia said in her heart with a cynical smile looking at Ferdi who still did not accept the accusations of her affair.

"If it's true that you're not cheating, let's go see the doctor and consult him. Unless.. if indeed Mas Ferdi does not want to have children with me," Velicia said with a bitter smile.

Ferdi's face was confused, he was nervous as if he did not like the examination and consultation to be able to have offspring.

However, he had no other choice but to agree to his wife's request. With a heavy heart he accepted it.

"All right, we'll do it" Ferdi said with a heavy heart.

After returning from the clinic, Raymond took the time to stop for a moment at the playground. 

In that place he was really happy to see the children playing and running to and fro and chasing with his friends.

As usual, he took some pictures of children playing with his digital camera that he always took with him everywhere.

A flash of Velicia's shadow was clearly visible in her eyes. Soon she took her phone and sent him a message.

He deliberately did not contact her for fear of disturbing her. He simply sent out a message to ask her where she was and ask if she had eaten by now.

It was undeniable, Raymond was worried about Velicia. I don't know why he seems to be concerned about her.

All he knew was that he felt he had to help Velicia because they had been friends ever since Raymond came to the city, where he had no one to ask or just talk to.

It was getting dark, and Raymond went home. Raymond scrunched his forehead when he saw the lights of his house were all lit.

After opening the door of his house, Raymond was shocked to see that his wife was already standing before him with her grim face.

"Well, are you home already? Didn't you go with your friend?" raymond asked Tania while taking off her shoes.

"Bete, deh kele. Masa' he didn't come. I'll come to his workplace and it turns out he didn't come in today. I called him this morning, but he didn't pick up the phone at all. Nyebelin. Did he intentionally avoid me? Does he not like being friends with me?" 

Tania sulks at Raymond complaining about a friend she couldn't meet this morning.

Raymond remembered himself. He couldn't get to work because there really was an accidental incident.

"Don't do that. It may be that your friend is really there is a need that is very urgent so can not contact you or can not be contacted. Or maybe he was in trouble. So don't think badly of anyone before you know the cause" Raymond said, taking off his tie.

Tania who had been listening to the words from her husband felt proud of him. She just kept quiet and looked at her husband with great admiration.

"What a hell my husband is" Tania said as she placed her palms on Raymond's cheeks.

Raymond smiled and removed his wife's hands from his cheeks. Then he moved while saying, 'He,

"I'm gonna take a shower, it's so hot, it's all sticky."

"Yes, I want to call my friend first. Once in a while now she can already take my call," Tania said as she searched for Velicia's name.

A few seconds after the phone button was pressed, the phone connection was successful. Tania's phone was picked up by Velicia.

"Hello, Ve where have you been? Didn't we promise to meet and have lunch together again?" tania asked Velicia across the street who had not been able to greet her, not even having the chance to say hello to her.

"Ve, are you really sick? Your voice is so weak. What pain did you have Ve? Where are you? I'll see you," Tania flocked to Velicia with many questions.

Velicia smiled weakly hearing some questions from Tania. Then he said,

I'm fine Tan. You just pray that I recover quickly and that we may meet again soon. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you from now on.

"It's ok Ve, I get it. Of course I will pray for you to heal quickly and for us to meet again. Don't forget to let me know if you need a friend to take care of you or if you need my help" Tania said earnestly.

Velicia smiled weakly again, she remembered Raymond's figure when she heard Tania's words just now.

He was grateful to have been surrounded by good people despite only getting to know each other.

You're so nice Tan. You are like my friend who always says such things to me, Velicia said in a weak voice.

"I'm your friend Ve. Don't forget that," Tania said in a slightly irritated tone.

Yes Tan, I know. It's just that your words remind me of my other friends. He always said that to me. And I am grateful to have good friends like you, Velicia said in her wise tone.

"Yes Ve, I hung up. My husband seems to have finished his bath" Tania said as she turned to her room.

Yes Tan. Thank you, Velicia said weakly from where she was.

After successfully contacting Velicia, Tania felt that she was indeed her husband. 

She immediately walked to her room to see her husband.

"Darling. My friend was sick and she couldn't reach me earlier" Tania said as she walked into her room.

Raymond who was wearing his shirt turned to Tania and smiled at her.

"So you have to remember, things don't jump to conclusions without knowing what really happened" Raymond said, styling his hair in front of a mirror.

Tania walked up to Raymond and hugged him from behind as she said,

"Yes, yes, I will always remember. Now where are we going to eat, honey?"

Raymond looked at his wife from the mirror and said,

"You're not cooking? Aren't you home all day?"

Tania immediately let go of her embrace and said,

"You forgot I couldn't cook?"

Raymond let out a sigh hearing his wife's words. He had completely forgotten that his wife was a spoiled child of a wealthy family, so he was not allowed to be in the kitchen.

"Yes, let me cook" said Raymond before he walked into the kitchen.

"Eh don't. We'd better eat outside, honey. Come on.." - Whine Tania while tugging Raymond's hand.

"But every day we buy food outside. Don't you want us to eat at home?" said Raymond who was actually lazy to go out.

"I want to eat somewhere. There's a nice cafe there. I ate there yesterday with my friend. Come on, honey. yes... yes..want ya..," Tania again whined to her husband.

Raymond took his breath back. And finally he had to give back to Tania's wishes.

"Yes, we just eat out" Raymond said resignedly.
