Chapter 34 The cause of Velicia's pain

Ferdi looked at his wife with a look of disbelief. It has been explained by him that he is not having an affair, but still his wife is still asking him about his relationship with Lani.

"He's an intern in my division. And our relationship is just that. We're not having an affair. You don't just accuse us" Ferdi said firmly and with a little emotion.

Velicia smiled disdainfully with her tears still dripping down her cheeks. He was very tired and could not stand it anymore.

"Is that true, Mom? Then how could you run to see him right away after he called you? While I was the one who called you to come here, you are lightly waiting for your home hours. What if I was dying at that point? Can you meet me?" velicia said fieryly with a cynical smile at Ferdi accompanied by her tears flowing unstoppably on her cheeks.

Ferdi was stunned to hear what his wife said. He does not think like his wife. In his heart he felt guilty for his stupidity, now his wife misunderstood him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I was stupid. I didn't think I was there" Ferdi said with a guilty look at Velicia.

Velicia smiled cynically at him. Then he said,

"Maybe all that is in your mind and heart is that woman. I am not in your mind and heart, until you are not at all worried when you hear me hurt. Evidently not, when the woman called you, without thinking long you came to her and left your sick wife alone."

"Don't misunderstand Ve. He said he was in an accident. And you have received treatment. So I thought-"

"What accident can you call yourself to tell me how Mas is? Think dong Mas. If the one who reported it was someone else, I can still accept it. But this…. Oh no, I'm lazy to talk about it. It will only add to my heartache. You don't even know why I can be treated here" Velicia said with her fiery anger.

Ferdi sighed. He did not want to fight with his wife. Even in his agenda earlier, right now he should have rested and had a fight not on his agenda.

"I think you're okay Ve. So I don't"

"Even you haven't asked how I am. How do you know if I'm okay?" sahut Velicia while smiling cynically at Ferdi.

"really? Maybe I forgot. Sorry," said Ferdi as he looked at Velicia guiltily.

Velicia was tired, she just kept quiet and intended to just listen to what her husband said. Even her stomach was back in pain from being too fiery angry at her husband.

Lani was behind the walls of Velicia's room. Carrying a large bottle of mineral water, he stood at the door listening to Ferdi's conversation with Velicia.

Unknowingly his lips curved upwards when he heard the debate between Ferdi and Velicia who carried his name. It seemed like he was happy because what Velicia said was indeed very pleasing to him, as if Ferdi thought more about it than Velicia who was his wife.

After no longer hearing any more voices of debate from inside, Lani opened the door of Velicia's room and entered into it.

Ferdi's eyes turned to the door that Lani had opened. As for Velicia who was already lazy to look at Lani's face, she immediately put down her body and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

"This is the Ma'am, the drink" Lani said as she placed the bottle on the table next to the patient's bed.

Velicia did not reply, she was silent and her eyes closed tightly pretending to sleep.

"You better go home. It's already night" Ferdi said unequivocally without making small talk or calling his name.

Lani's face, which was smiling, was now sad to hear Ferdi's words that seemed to drive her away.

"I'd like to stay here, sir. And I thank you for the payment of the hospital fee, sir," Lani said without burden and smiled broadly at Ferdi.

Velicia opened her eyes and sat facing Ferdi.

"Mas Ferdi paid his hospital fees?" velicia asked as if she could not believe what she heard. 

Then he smiled sinisterly looking towards Ferdi and Lani alternately. After that he said,

"So there was a protest about the cost of my room which Mas Ferdi said was too excessive. For other women, it doesn't matter. I'm very disappointed in you. Please Mas Ferdi take the woman out of this room, because the one who paid for this room is not you Mas. Even this room has been paid for by the man who helped me."

Lani widened her eyes, she did not expect that Velicia could still hear her voice. He really thought that Velicia was already asleep.

Ferdi was stunned to hear what his wife had said. His mouth wanted to deny and say that it was all untrue.

However, come to think of it, everything Velicia said was absolutely true. So that he can't deny it.

"But he just borrowed my money. I didn't pay for the treatment costs" Ferdi said as he looked at Velicia with a pleading gaze.

Velicia did not answer. He just smiled cynically at Ferdi.

Ferdi turned his head towards Lani and was greeted with a sweet smile by Lani. Then he said,

"Lan, tell my real wife not to misunderstand you."

"I? What should I explain, sir?" lani asked with her innocent face as if she knew nothing.

"Explain what happened" Ferdi said with annoyance at Lani.

"Emmm... about Mr Ferdi who came as my helper?" lani asked as if she didn't know what was going on.

Velicia smiled wryly hearing the words from Lani. Then he said,

"Mas.Mas. Mas can be a hero to other women, but Mas Ferdi is the cause of my pain, Mas Ferdi's own wife."

"I? You mean what Ve?" ferdi asked as he sat on the patient bed opposite to Velicia.

"Mas Ferdi knew that I was sick because of the drink your mother gave me? Even you and your mother are insensitive, with my sick state you still give me food that is very difficult to digest by my sheep" Velicia said with a wry smile at Ferdi.

"What?" 

Ferdi was very surprised to hear what his wife said. He did not expect that the herbal drink could aggravate Velicia's illness.

Velicia smiled bitterly looking at Ferdi in shock. Then he said,

"Just ask the doctor who handled me. He will tell you everything because you are my husband."
