“Did anyone say you could sit here? This place is reserved for my girlfriend! Being a loser back then was one thing, but after three years of college, you still haven't improved a bit! Go, get lost, get lost! ”
Gerald couldn't even remember his name anymore, and he couldn't be bothered to fight with him at the moment.
It left a chair near the door, where all the food would be brought in.
Realizing that this was everyone's intention all along, Gerald simply resigned.
Actually, there was an empty spot beside Sharon as well. However, he left his handbag there, indicating that he kept the chair for someone. Of course, he did not move to offer it to her.
Lilian smirked at Gerald, then turned around and asked, "Sharon, when will Murphy get here?"
“The guy... Hmph! Always plan on everything. Every time, he would say he's almost until—but you still have to wait a while!”
Although it sounded annoyed, it was actually his heart singing proudly.
"Yo yo yo! Is Sharon talking about Murphy, like Murphy who graduated and went straight to being a sales manager of a high-end business along Mayberry Commercial Street? Did you two not get along, then? ”
"really? Back when he was a student, Sharon clung to him everywhere. Now that he's a big Mayberry, you're full of complaints? Actually, you just want us to be jealous of you, right?”
“To be honest, can you tell us how he got the job? Jeez, sales manager at Mayberry Street. I won't trade it for a dozen country appointments!”.
Not long after Sharon mentioned her boyfriend, the whole table was horrendous about her. The air was thick with the smell of jealousy.
"Well, I won't know about that!" Sharon laughing. "When he gets here, he can tell you himself!"
Right at that moment, the door opened, and two men entered.
"Murphy, you're here!" Everyone greeted the tall skinny man with a warm smile.
The other man was the girl's other boyfriend, and he casually took the seat that Gerald had nearly stolen.
“Talk about the devil.. Murphy, we just talked about you! Anyway, look who joined us today! Let me introduce you ... That guy over there? Meet Gerald!” Chuckling, Lilian pointed at Gerald, who was sipping his drink.
"Oh? So these bums don't have money, Gerald? It's good to see you!" Wearing an amazed expression, Murphy came to shake hands.
Frowning, Gerald remained in his chair and ignored him.
It was only at this point that he really started to get annoyed with all of this.
He was too naive, expecting this to be a simple reunion between old friends he hadn't seen in years.
He craved a bit of weird socialization too.
However, it was only after he arrived that he began to suspect that Lilian might have another motive behind inviting him here. Gerald has been brought here to be a party clown, the night's entertainment.
Nobody here really cares about him, even Sharon—Gerald doesn't even know who he is anymore.
All of this turned out to be a huge disappointment.
Gerald's not interested in Murphy's man.
Murphy, on the other hand, beamed at him. “What a character you are, Gerald! Sorry, I was just kidding. I heard from Sharon that you two used to be good friends.”
“Hmph! Gerald, Murphy offered to shake hands with you, just now! Where's your manners?”
"Fuckin' thick! Murphy, you don't have to apologize to this guy at all! Just ask Sharon—he's a complete loser!”
