"Gerald?"
Lilian and Sharon walked over and they glanced at Gerald and Queta.
Lilian and Sharon had always wanted to travel before they graduated and had previously heard about how beautiful Yorknorth was from Hayward and he had invited them to visit. Since they were free, they decided to visit Mount Yorknorth. They never thought that they would see Gerald there.
"You know him, Lilian?" one of the girls frowned.
They judge Gerald by his appearance and then they glance at Queta and think she is as poor as Gerald. They're not all very friendly.
"of course! He is a high school classmate I mentioned yesterday. How coincidental!" Lilian sneered.
Lilian was surprised the last time she found out that Gerald knew Yancy at a class meeting. Everyone thought Gerald had finally come forward, but then he soon realized that Yancy didn't even remember him after the meeting.
When people ask Yancy if she knows who Gerald is, she immediately replies no. Rumor has it that Yancy always acts as if she knows someone. Last time at that meeting, he must have been toying with Gerald as well.
Once Lilian knew that, she felt happy to have insulted Gerald.
"Is that your boyfriend, Gerald?" ask Sharon.
Gerald then shook his head.
The poor must find a boyfriend who is equally poor. Seeing the two made Sharon feel that they were really cheap.
Sharon feels very silly considering the days when she teased Gerald.
"No, this is my best friend!" said Gerald.
"Hayward, do you know him?"
"of course! Let me tell you about him.” Hayward whispered to the girls.
The girls stared at Queta with more scorn.
Queta finds out that Hayward tells them that he is an orphan, a child no one wants. He held the edge of his clothes tightly because he felt ashamed.
Gerald grabbed his hand telling him that he was by his side and said, "Let's get out of here, Queta!"
Gerald doesn't want anything to do with his classmates at High School.
“Okay, someone's angry! Since you guys are here, why not eat the skewered sheep? I'm sure you've never tasted it. We need someone to help us with skewers as well. You two should stay!” Lilian sneered as she said.
Lilian had just gotten the idea of having two free workers who could work for them and it was futile not to use them.
Gerald ignored them.
“Queta, do you think you should go? Don't you remember who saved your foster parents' tombstone? We treat you to a meal and all we need is help with a skewer!” Hayward taunted him playfully.
Hayward didn't say much last time because she didn't have any status. Things have changed now. People flowed around him since the village was about to be built.
His humiliation was very useful against Queta. Queta stopped and said, “You can go first, Gerald. I'll help them!”
Queta knows everything about Gerald and promises to cover it up. He knew Gerald would not do these kinds of things and these people did not deserve to let Gerald serve them.
