“I'm sorry, Gerald! Please forgive me!" mina said as she bowed towards Gerald as if she deeply regretted her actions in the past. Gerald was surprised, to say the least, at his sudden change in attitude. He was also not alone, as the entire department was also looking at him in shock.
“Please, Gerald! I really want a ticket... Can you sell it to me?” mina said in a soft tone while looking into Gerald's eyes. He is a big fan of Kai, so he is willing to give anything just to be able to see him perform live.
Gerald had the right to hesitate because he was, however, angry at him before this. Usually, he would choose to ignore it at all costs. However, he now seems to be really sorry for his actions in the past, and seeing it softens Gerald's heart. So, he will grant her, his wish.
“Take just one. I have a lot of it!” gerald replied while handing him the ticket. Mina's eyes glittered with overwhelming gratitude and she bowed again towards him as she took the ticket out of her hands.
“U-um... Gerald, can I have it too?”
“A-me too!”
“Gerald, can you sell it to us? After all, we are co-workers, right? ”
From what Gerald saw, there were about seven other girls who were big fans like Mina. They immediately surrounded it, displaying large dog eyes to ensure that they would each get a ticket.
More of Gerald's other colleagues began to swarm around him as well, and with the fangirls coming from all four teams, the total number of employees easily numbered thirty. However, Gerald did not have many tickets at the time.
He had no choice but to put a stack of tickets on his desk before saying, "After all, I won't need so much, so take one each and have fun!"
Hearing that, all the girls gasped before rushing to his desk to pick up their tickets.
Ava, on the other hand, did not move from where she had originally been. He looked at Gerald with mixed emotions in him. Gerald did not mention how he got all those tickets, but he knew that ticket prices were soaring.
'How much money did he use to get so many tickets?
'Could he win the lottery?'
All these thoughts filled Ava's head and she felt as if she was being crushed by a boulder. The day before, Nathaniel had him remove Gerald from the party list. Ava did so without the slightest hesitation because she was well aware of how Nathaniel was trying to get everyone to boycott Gerald. With any luck, Gerald will soon disappear from his sight and mind, but oh how things have changed now.
If he's really honest, Ava herself wants a ticket. However, he dismissed those thoughts and immediately returned to his job. He couldn't force himself to beg someone—especially the person he looked down—for something he wanted.
Moving back to Nathaniel, he had hit rock bottom with his luck. Not only has he failed to take Bianca out, he has also been stripped of his position as vice-chairman. Under the orders of Mr. Briggs, he's on probation now.
When lunch time arrived, the employee's canteen was immediately filled as usual. The girls from the marketing department sat at their usual table and gossiped over lunch.
“Hey girls, do you think Gerald is secretly a billionaire? Like, that low-profile? Maybe he's here just to feel the average work life of Joe in our company!” a girl holds her ticket.
"Huh? That's a bold claim... Do you have anything to back it up?” ask another female employee as a group of girls curl up closer.
“Yeah, just think about it! How much are all those tickets? And it's not just any ordinary ticket either. Gerald was able to secure twenty zone T tickets when we were all fighting to get tickets for the last row! Moreover, he only gave it to us as if it was not important to him. I'm sure he still has more on him! ”
"You're right! Who do you think he really is? I'm sure he's just trying to demean himself, aren't you, girls? ” ask other colleagues.
“I believe so too! He must be a very strong man! He was really far from someone's image of him during the party! Hah, imagine thinking for a moment that Gerald was completely broke as a joke! ” add the fifth girl while looking towards Ava.
Ava had been sitting in listening distance and she seemed annoyed throughout their conversation about Gerald.
"I know? Half of the party was just Gerald who liked to talk bad. Courage of some people!” This time Mina spoke. Ava Anderson knew clearly that they were all referring to her.
