"Xavia's in Yanken?"
He was stunned to hear that name again. He hadn't heard from her for months.
He felt a sudden excruciating pain in his heart.
After all, he had been a couple with Xavia for two years. Her memories at Mayberry University mostly consisted of the two of them together. However, he had hurt her feelings greatly. At one point, Gerald only felt hatred for him.
After he revealed his identity as Lord Crawford to her, he became extremely cold towards Xavia.
He received a great blow from it, so he dropped out of the university.
Ever since that happened, whatever hatred he had for her no longer existed.
He was filled with self-deprecation.
In the past, he had nothing. But Xavia did not hate him for that. He still chooses to be with her.
They ate together, and even went shopping together.
While it was true that Xavia had changed in the end, she was much better compared to Alice and the others.
After all, he did not feel disgusted with her for being poor. That was what touched Gerald back then because most girls naturally preferred wealthy couples.
His cold attitude back then completely destroyed his future, to the point that he could not even finish his studies at university.
Gerald had pondered earlier about asking someone to look for Xavia. If he could find her, he could give her a job that had a steady income and good prospects. He would be able to rest easier if he knew he could still support himself.
However, Gerald gave up on the idea because he felt that he would hate him even more if he found out.
“Even what kind of response is that? Are you happy? Passionate? Or maybe you're just blaming yourself in your head right now? Felicity asked curiously.
“How is he now? Is she okay?” ask Gerald, ignoring the question.
“Oh, you don't have to worry about him. Honestly, he's fine! He lives a life so good that it will surely exceed your expectations. Before we parted ways, he told me that he would return to Mayberry one day to pick up what was missing there!”
“She had a pretty scary expression on her face as she said that. When I asked him about it, he didn't say anything more about the matter. By the way, Gerald, why did Xavia drop out of university?”
Back then, Xavia had told him to deliver a message to Gerald. Felicity, however, is not interested in anything related to Gerald so she keeps the message to herself.
"I want to know .." said Gerald, a bitter smile on his face.
He has announced that he will regain what he has lost in Mayberry.
What has Xavia experienced over the past few months?
Gerald didn't know where to start to speculate. But one thing is certain. Xavia played well and that was all that mattered to him.
“Well, it's okay if you don't want to talk about it. I'll find out when he finally comes back someday!” felicity said before sighing.
“Alright, enough chit chatnya! I have to finish my makeup for a live broadcast this afternoon!”
"Good!" gerald said while nodding his head. Just as he was about to walk out of the office, Felicity called out to him. As he waited for her to say something, he walked towards her before blocking the door with his arms outstretched.
“Also, Gerald. I'm hoping you'll promise me one thing because I'm helping you this time. ”
"What's that?"
“You can't get married before I know who the true identity of an Ordinary Man is. That was my only request. Is that possible?" felicity asked while biting her lower lip.
He didn't even understand why he was asking such an unreasonable thing from Gerald.
'Could this mean that I have fallen in love with him because I know that he is most likely an Ordinary Human?'
'If Gerald was really an Ordinary Man and he married someone else... What's gonna happen?'
Felicity didn't want to have to feel such bitter regret. As he pondered his own question a little more, he realized that it must be the reason why he told him to make such a promise.
He's still not even sure if he really loves Gerald.
Upon hearing Felicity's request, Gerald looked at her in surprise.
“Do not until there is a misunderstanding. I don't like you, I'm just looking for answers!” felicity.
"Well, you have my promise!"
To be honest, Gerald still felt a little confused after hearing the name Xavia again.
