"Sharon, you-you! How dare you slap me! This b*tch Hayward just slapped me!”
While she said that, Lilian looked at Hayward while cupping her hands on her injured cheek.
However, Hayward simply shifted his gaze. It is clear on whose side he is.
“I... so... So so so... Think that I was blind before so I can't see what kind of person you really are...”.
Lilian's voice trembled. He turned around and ran away crying.
Sharon slammed her fork and spoon into the table. He was in no mood to enjoy his meal anymore after such a mess. Soon after, the two left the restaurant.
'It's a shame to see two friends fighting like enemies now ...' Gerald thought to himself.
From what had happened before him, Gerald could get the gist of what was happening between the three.
It seemed that Lilian and Sharon had both become more assertive towards Hayward due to the property he owned now.
In the past when Hayward was still poor, they never treated him well even though he was always by their side.
It's a completely different story now. Ever since he owned some property and managed to gain some great connections, he had basically become a rich and handsome person for them.
What's more, for Lilian and Sharon, the experience she gained while acquiring property and connections must have also made her more serious and mature.
Gerald could definitely understand their situation.
However, he was not sure how the two girls would react if they found out that everything Hayward had now been given to him.
Gerald only sneered while shaking his head before smiling resignedly.
After he finished eating, he left the restaurant. However, as soon as Gerald's foot stepped out of the restaurant, a hand grabbed his other hand.
"Oh! My granddaughter, please wait a minute! ”
Looking down to see who was holding his leg, Gerald saw an old man sitting near the entrance.
"Oh my God, what are you doing?" said Gerald, dumbfounded.
“My granddaughter, you must be rich because you can afford to eat at this restaurant! Please give me money, I haven't eaten for days now! ” said the old beggar while crawling closer to hug Gerald's thigh.
The old beggar looked dirty and his white hair smelled foul.
He won't let go of Gerald's leg until he gets the money.
Understanding this, Gerald could only sigh as he reached into his wallet and handed the beggar a hundred dollars.
The beggar immediately slipped the money into his dirty front pocket but did not let go.
"You done yet?" gerald asked, his tone getting angry.
“My grandson, I also need help for something else.. Can you send me to the clinic? My leg is injured and I have to heal it!”
“Damn it, old beggar! Just because you're old, you think you can blackmail me?”
Gerald was angry but also speechless.
“What old beggar? I just got in trouble! I'm not a beggar!” answer the man.
Just then, some people started to surround the two. Naturally, gossip soon began as well.
Gerald sighed, thinking about how unlucky he was. The old man had even called her as his granddaughter all along.
In the end, Gerald took him to the clinic across the street, losing.
Chinese medicine practitioners there immediately treated the old man's leg. When Gerald paid the hundred dollar bill, he could only glare at the old man bitterly.
However, upon closer inspection, he noticed a tattoo on the old man's chest. It was the head of the dragon that looked rather frightening.
'Could he really be a less fortunate hero?' Gerald thought to himself.
Maybe the old man was influential and great. Anyway, it's not Gerald's business.
He had spent a total of two hundred dollars on the old man. Normally he would never do such a thing, but it was only his luck that the old man clung tightly to his feet and in public.
Gerald was just about to leave when he saw some news broadcast on TV in the clinic. The news was broadcast on Mayberry TV and it was about the disappearance of Giya. It said in the news that police were investigating the case.
It is clear that Giya's father has been thinking of using the mass media to help search for Giya as well.
Seeing the news, Gerald began to blame himself again.
There were a few more patients in the waiting room, waiting their turn to meet with Chinese medicine practitioners. One of them breathed. “A very beautiful girl. The world is filled with all kinds of bad and perverted people today.”.
"I know? Girls need to learn how to protect themselves when they are out and about.” said another patient.
“Hmm... I seem to remember seeing it a while ago. He was blocked by some men.” said the old beggar who limped and saw the news as well, now that his legs have been taken care of.
Gerald had just started walking towards the door again when he froze in place.
"What's? Whatdidyou say? You've met him?”
