Chapter 508
Gerald comes from a rather poor family. Like many others, Ava is slowly being swallowed by her self-esteem as she ages. And like the others, her self-esteem reached its peak during her university years.
“Of course!” said Gerald while nodding. She did not mind too much, though she was a little surprised at how cold Ava treated her.
Immediately after completing the application process, Gerald and Bianca began working in the positions assigned to them.
Gerald sat in a small corner in the office and immediately started working. Its job is to manage and sort files. He was rather happy that it would be of great help to his investigation.
After a while, Gerald decided to go to the gentlemen. After he finished, he was about to leave when he heard faint whispers coming from the women.
“Come to the office to finish the interview. You have to be fast though. I've kept the position for you, so you owe me one! ” echoes a barely audible voice across the kiosk.
"What's? No more positions? Well, you're right, but something unexpected happened. Our director-in-law's brother was supposed to be accepted, but somehow, my Junior High School classmate got the job! ”
“Heh, don't worry about that. I already knew about his background so any work would work for him. I sent him to the logistics team and the idiot gladly accepted my offer! So listen here, you still have a chance. Don't let this opportunity go to waste!”
All the colors drained from Gerald's face. That must be Ava.
Looks like he's set up. Gerald could recall how shocked the assistant was a while ago. So, Ava also brought her own people into the company.
'This newly formed investment group seems to be just for show' Gerald thought to himself. He now realized how much information he could gather just by being an undercover spy in the company.
As expected, a full day of work in the office must be boring. Fortunately, it didn't take long before Gerald could get home from work.
However, Gerald was not able to leave. Bianca has invited Gerald to dinner after work via text message. Gerald could sense that this might be Bianca's bad feeling because she couldn't join the team.
Since he was considering her feelings, he accepted her invitation. It was just a simple dinner.
Since the team was still holding a meeting, Gerald decided to wait for him at the entrance of the lobby.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Gerald saw Bianca coming out of the lobby. But he is not alone. Ava followed behind him.
“Oh, Gerald! I'm sorry! I forgot to tell you that I can't come for dinner tonight! Ava's manager told me she had someone she wanted to introduce me to at dinner!” bianca said with a smile apologizing.
“Do not worry, have fun!” gerald replied with a rather sad smile.
Ava on the other hand, only stared at him for a moment, realizing his presence before getting into her car with Bianca.
As she goes with him, Gerald's phone starts ringing. It was a phone call from Zack Lyle.
