Whitney then disrespected him further. He looked at her with great pride as if he was mocking her for being a sugar baby!
After hearing what they said, Jane's parents' face turned ghastly. They really believe that Gerald is a sugar baby.
Jane's mother pointed at Gerald and said, “Jane, give me an explanation now. What's up with this Gerald? Is he really a sugar baby?”

“I didn't listen to your explanation. Just tell me is he there or not?” Jane's mother asked angrily.
Whitney crossed her arms and walked beside Christian. He smiled and said, “Don't worry, Christian. Do you remember that poor guy I told you about who was on the same path as me? The man who was dumped by his ex-girlfriend who then moved to a rich man!”
“After that, he won the lottery and then became very proud. Do you remember that poor farmer? That's it!"
Whitney thinks that since she has switched to her dark side, she should just go ahead and destroy Gerald. He just wants to be friends with Gerald because he thinks he's pretty rich. Especially when Gerald bought him a shirt that was worth several thousand dollars because he had helped him. He was actually quite touched by it, but now, he realized that he was just a playboy with no money!
Whitney humiliates him in public only to prove to Jane that he used to be a poor and lowly farmer!
When Christian realizes he is just a poor man, he has no pressure at all.

Things get better when they go to the third year only because Whitney is fed up with insulting her.
“So you really are poor b*stard. Go now and never bother my daughter again!” Jane's mother was very angry. He took a glass of hot tea and splashed it on Gerald's face.
