“Heh, hey Nate! The new guy's really fucked up, isn't he? Wait until the trial is over. The head of the department will definitely not let him pass!” said one smoker arrogantly.
"You have that right! He dared to make Nate angry. Nate will definitely make that person's life a nightmare as long as he is still here!” added another man.
“Ballsy to say the least! I'll fuck him too then! ” said third person.
“By the way guys, my eyes are on Bianca, so make sure none of you dare to move a single bit on her!” echoing a familiar and arrogant voice.
“Wouldn't have dreamed of it, Nate!” said everyone hiding in the restroom. They all then left one by one after throwing away their cigarette butts.
Gerald himself hid in one of the stalls, and he heard their whole conversation. The Nate they spoke to was undoubtedly, Nathaniel.
It is clear that Nathaniel was the one who called Mr. Murphy's been to the office before. As the vice-chairman of the team, he must have known about Mina's habits in the office. After seeing her hand over her USB to Gerald and learning how hot-tempered she is, Nathaniel has used the turn of events as a prime opportunity to humiliate her. How cute that guy is!
Although Gerald had heard rumors of employees playing dirty in the labor force, he did not anticipate facing such treatment on the first day of work. Nathaniel clearly sees Gerald as a love rival now, and wants him gone as soon as possible.
'Yeah, two guys can play that game. You're in a pretty good show, ' Gerald thought to himself.
Gerald then continued his day, despite having to deal with additional wry comments from Mina. Moments later after running some errands, he returned to the office to find everyone standing at the entrance.
None of them seemed to be planning to leave. Instead, they seemed to be waiting for someone to pick them up and some of them even used their phones. Fay and the fat man from his team were also waiting there.
“What are you waiting for?” ask Gerald with a smile.
"Text?"
“Yes, the marketing department is holding a welcoming party for the newcomers! It's for both of you, you know? That's why we're all here. I also experienced it when I first joined, and I had a really fun time!”
"But it seems like I haven't been told about this at all" Gerald replied as he checked if there was a new message on his phone.
"Let me see!" Picking up his phone, he scrolled through his first few messages and saw that he was not lying. There was absolutely no text about the party.
Fay then pulls out his own phone and shows Gerald the message he received. It wrote, “Marketing Department: welcoming party this month. Fay Foster: Room 202.”
'Well, this is completely unreasonable! They invited everyone but me!' Gerald thought to himself. Even though he knew that he should not waste his time or energy getting angry over such a trivial matter, he could still feel his blood boiling under his skin.
“Which room are you in, Gerald? Are we in the same place?” asked Bianca who was walking towards him.
"I wasn't invited" Gerald said in a calm tone before sighing softly.
"What's? That's not possible. Maybe Miss Miles and Mr. Chandler forgot? I'll ask them soon!” answer Bianca. He wouldn't just leave it alone since the two of them had joined the company together. The way he saw it, there was a special bond between them because of that.
“It's okay, really! You can go without me,” Gerald said as soon as he realized that Mina and Nathaniel were organizing the event. It was obvious that they had accidentally invited him. As some of his female co-workers sneered, Gerald simply walked out of the lobby with a hint of loneliness.
After arriving at his hotel, Gerald was just about to take a long shower when he suddenly heard a knock on the door. "Trs. Crawford's? Are you there? Mr Lyle sent me here!”
