"Sister, what's wrong?"
“Sister, are you busy? A butler and some of my subordinates will soon land at Mayberry airport. Can you find someone to pick them up? I've arranged some other tasks for Zack and Michael to handle. They will need a place to stay as well, so please find one for them!”
"Alright, no problem" said Gerald as he nodded to himself.
This is actually the first time Gerald has been in contact with his family for such a long time. He heard his sister laughing.
“I'll be there the day after tomorrow. We can meet then, just brother and sister!” Jessica smiled after saying that.
Gerald misses him too.
After speaking for a while, Gerald finally hung up the phone.
Since Zach and Michael are both busy, Gerald better not bother them.
'Who can I give you that task?' He scratched the back of his head as he thought.
After a while, he decided to leave the restaurant because Felicity and the others were there.
He concluded that it would be better to take it for themselves as they were his sister's butler.
Nodding to herself, she reenters the restaurant and tells Naomi that she is busy, so she leaves immediately.
"Gerald seems pretty busy!" xyleena said cynically.
'I'm kindly inviting you to dinner today and you claim that you are busy? How dare you!' xyleena thought to herself.
“I'm sure he just feels pressured to be here, as poor as he is. Speaking of, Brian. We saw a handsome man with white hair yesterday. What position does he hold?” asked Yvonne at that moment.
“Honestly, I'm also curious. You keep talking about the handsome white-haired guy in Maybach, but judging from your description, it is highly unlikely that such a person is from our police team, ” Brian replied rather awkwardly.
The more he heard from the girls, the more Brian felt that something was amiss. The police team did have a big mission the night before.
The mission was large enough to the point that there were rumors that the superiors from the province had also come to investigate.
During the commotion, Brian has received a call from Xyleena, claiming that his cousin has been kidnapped along with three other girls.
Brian tells her not to worry and says that the police will take action soon.
However, by the time he arrived at the place with his large team, the criminals had already been captured. The hostages have even been rescued, and have long since left the scene.
Given his rank, he was not allowed to look too deep into the matter.
It felt strange for him to share that food because he knew he had not done much to save them.
All he knew at this moment, was that there were two groups of people participating in the girls' rescue mission.
He was only there in time to clean up the mess.
“Eh? He's not on the police team? I think so.. It seems very unlikely for a policeman to drive a Maybach, ” replied Yvonne, perplexed.
"So you don't mean you saved us, Inspector Merrall?" cassandra asked in shock. 'Why is it so difficult to solve this trivial problem?'
“Technically, no, we don't. By the time we arrived at the scene, you were already saved. You girls have even left by then!” obviously Brian with a smile.
He just shared some rough details with them. All they need to know is that he didn't really do much to save them.
“So after all that talk, we're back to square one. Who exactly came to save us?” The four girls were dumbfounded again.
At that moment, Felicity's phone rang.
"Yes? Who'sis this?"
“Good day, miss. I am part of the customer service from Rex Suit Flagship Store. You bought a suit from us yesterday. However, your girlfriend came last night to buy the exact same suit. We only had a smaller stock, but he insisted on buying it. Several suits of his size have arrived today and we wonder if he wants to trade the suit he bought last night for this one. We called you because he was in such a hurry last night, we couldn't get his contact information.”
"Daughter? Ah, you mean Gerald. She's not my girlfriend. Why did he even buy two suits?” Yvonne asked out loud, completely confused.
Cassandra had heard the conversation as well and was equally surprised.
“That means. The suit we found in Gerald's room yesterday wasn't what Felicity bought for him. He fooled us! But why him? So... The coat we found in the car last night... It really belongs to her?”
Without warning, Cassandra started screaming.
