Chapter 526
Gerald was familiar with the Waylon family. Since when did they open a company completely unrelated to their family business?
After some thorough investigation, Gerald discovers that there is a problem and he immediately sends a message to Zack for him to check back.
“Come, tell me. What did you find?” fay said with a smile. It's just a background check. Why does Gerald make it sound so grand?
"You won't understand, but know that I have found something great!" gerald said before laughing.
At that moment, Gerald receives a call from Ava that slightly surprises him.
“Gerald? Did you do anything after work tonight? " ask Ava as soon as she lifts it up.
"Why? What do you need?" gerald asked a little coldly.
Although Gerald used to treat Ava well, his constant cold behavior towards her made her want to treat her just as coldly.
“Well, I was thinking of buying you dinner. You've been joining the company for two days now and I still haven't bought you a meal. So... would you like to have dinner with me tonight?” ava asked with a smile across the phone.
"Who else will be there?" ask Gerald in return. He knew that Ava must be up to something. However, because Ava and Stuart are so close to each other, she feels that this will be the ultimate opportunity to get to know more about them.
“We're alone! There's no one else!" answer Ava.
Shortly after, the two agreed on the time and place of the meeting before he hung up.
Ava did not return to her desk for the rest of the day. As soon as Gerald came out, he headed for the agreed meeting place. It was just a small restaurant not too far from the office.
Upon entering the small private dining room, he saw Ava. He was surprised, to say the least. He had been faithful to his words, as he was the only one waiting for him there.
“This must be a pretty good place. What is the special event though? I don't mind going somewhere cheaper!” gerald replied with a slightly wry smile.
“How can I treat you with something cheap? Also, just so you know, I've always wanted to have a private conversation with you in the last two days. However, the office does not seem to be a comfortable place to talk! Now that we're alone, it's time we're both stuck with the good old days!” ava said as she inched closer to Gerald, her elbow gently nudged him.
What exactly is this girl planning? Gerald didn't have the slightest clue.
However, he noticed how flirtatious Ava was with him. He even tried to figure out how he got the ticket before along with his other comrades. 'Pursuing the beautiful past' was definitely not his true intention.
After drinking and talking for quite a while, Gerald's face started to turn red as he started to get drunk.
“Ava, I think I've had enough. We've been drinking too much!” gerald said while shaking his head.
“All right then, shall we go? Ah, can you send me back, Gerald?”
"Sure!"
After Ava paid off the bill, Gerald accompanied her back to her place.
He could not figure out what he was doing because he kept avoiding answering his questions.
After Ava arrived home safely, Gerald was just about to leave when he grabbed his arm.
"Gerald, don't go!"
