"I'm sorry, Gerald .." said the two of them together. The two girls showed expressions filled with shame and regret.
"That's pretty fine!" gerald replied with a gentle smile. Even though he was still being kind to them, the three of them knew that their friendship would never be able to be mended properly. What was done was done, and they would never be able to return to how they were. Gerald would only treat them as acquaintances now. There's nothing more.
Both Sharon and Xella understood what Gerald implied. Both know that they can't just rewind time to correct all their mistakes, and just understand that makes them feel like their hearts are being pierced by thousands of needles. If only they were still friends, this reunion could have been much better.
Not wanting to extend the awkwardness any further, Gerald decided to go back because it was late anyway. All he knew was that the crazy Queenie might have gone home. Gerald really didn't have the manpower to walk far, so he just used one of the company's Audi A6 cars to get home.
Just as he reached the entrance, Gerald met another acquaintance. He was holding his wallet and it looked like he was waiting for a taxi.
That was Michelle. Since Gerald did not bother to open the car window, Michelle managed to catch a glimpse of him as she was about to leave.

The other girls who came with me were my colleagues and some of them have already gone home, ” replied Michelle. Gerald noticed another shorter girl standing beside him as he said that.
“No need to thank me. If I had a say in this, I wouldn't have let either of you in the first place. Jarvis did it!” gerald said coldly again.
His words were so blunt that his face immediately flushed in embarrassment.
He knew that the blind date incident had ruined their relationship before it even got started. He understood very well that he had crossed the line, but he did not want to just stop.
Michelle did not originally want to experience this shame.
After all, it was fine to remain as strangers and never speak to each other again. Isn't that what he's liked all along?
