Chapter 423
After he parked his car, Gerald entered the private room. Almost half of his classmates were already there.
There were about twenty people and the atmosphere was quite crowded.
The dining table they ordered was also very large.
Most of the students there simply greeted Gerald casually before turning around to look away and continuing to talk amongst themselves.
To them, Gerald was just a poor loser so he was naturally easy to ignore.
Back at Gerald, there was one thing that surprised him.
Neither Lilian nor Sharon was seen anywhere.
“By the way, Waylon, why are Lilian and Sharon not here? Didn't they say they'd join us?”
Similar to Gerald, several other classmates were also confused.
Waylon just smiled thinly. “They won't join us. They're not the same as they used to be. They have entered a circle of rich and powerful. They are arguably the most powerful among us! Why do they attend a small event like this?”
“Yeah, is that true? What else do you know, Waylon?” xella asked who was sitting next to her. His curiosity has taken hold of him.
“Well, Sharon finds herself a pretty strong boyfriend in Mayberry. Does anyone know about Yorknorth Mountain Entertainment City?” waylon said as he lit a cigarette.
“Of course we all do! It's famously clean! Yorknorth Mountain will be developed and transformed into a city focused on tourism, food and culture. Literally everyone has heard it!”
“Well, Sharon's boyfriend is from Yorknorth Village, though the village has now been demolished. But it's not important. See, his girlfriend's family owns several stores on a commercial street in Yorknorth Mountain Entertainment City. The amount of money they will make in the future is almost impossible to calculate!”
“Sial! They sound so strong!”
Hearing that, everyone was dumbfounded.
“His girlfriend's name is Hayward, and she's quite famous in Mayberry. I visited Mayberry last month for a bit of entertainment and fun. I called Sharon when I was there and met her boyfriend as well. We dined together and exchanged contact information as well, ”said Waylon was rather proud.
“Damn Waylon! You are so great!”
“When we were in school, Waylon and Cameron were both influential and powerful! Waylon still! What about you Cameron? No word from you? You have to work harder!” tease some of the girls who are sitting casually next to Cameron.
Cameron knows that he can't compare himself to Waylon.
This is especially true now that Waylon already knows a lot of people from Mayberry whereas Cameron's contacts are only limited to people from the health department.
Thinking about it made Cameron anxious as well as agitated.
He felt like he was being humiliated.
“Hey, hey, don't say that! Cameron is a great guy too! If your family or relatives work in a hospital or something close to it, you can call Cameron! Come Cameron! The guest seat of honor is yours to claim! ”
Waylon was already sitting in the main seat while Xella was sitting to her left as the second guest of honor. The only remaining seats were reserved for guests of honor so who else could sit there besides Cameron?
“But Waylon, wouldn't it be better for you to take the guest seat of honor? You must be the most powerful among us here! Besides, I'll tell you something. Waylon Company has also received funding from Dream Investment Group!” said a classmate while smiling while staring at Waylon.
Waylon enjoying himself. He felt proud that others knew about his achievements.
When his other classmates heard that, their eyes widened as they turned to look towards Waylon.
“They are a company belonging to my family, so they are none of my business. I have set up my own company but it is still useless as I have not given any results yet! ” said Waylon while smiling bitterly.
Many of his classmates were jealous and envious of him.
His statement only made Cameron feel increasingly inferior.
As he smiled awkwardly, he suddenly saw Gerald who had been sitting by the door. With a cold smile on his face, he said, “By the way, Waylon. We should not just pass the seat of honor among ourselves. Gerald should be the one sitting there!”
Cameron is enough. He was upset and he did not want to be compared to Waylon anymore so he changed the subject to Gerald.
"What's? You're suggesting Gerald take it? ” says a random classmate while laughing out loud.
Cameron just sneered.
“Of course he should. You may not know it, but Gerald is pretty close to Louie Lourdes in our Serene County. We met two days ago at a restaurant and Louie even wanted to pay the bill for Gerald!”
