Hearing him, Jacob forced himself to speak, "Master... Mr. Laine, this is indeed my fault and that of my sister. Please forgive us this time. I promise that we won't trouble you anymore."
Jasper smile.
"I believe you."
Jasper's words made Jacob and his sister breathe a sigh of relief.
"That all you're saying now is the truth, but I'm not sure that one day you won't rethink the humiliation you're feeling tonight and make plans to annoy me. I told you, didn't I? I don't like trouble."
Jasper's tone grew louder.
Jacob wiped the blood off his face and pleaded again, "Please, Mr. Laine. I promise that we won't trouble you anymore."
"If I told you to leave the media and entertainment industry, would you?" ask Jasper.
Jacob's expression changed.
The industry is the Combe family's main source of income. He earns tens of millions of profits each year from several companies under his name.
It's not a question of whether he wants to or not because it disturbs his family's roots. He has no right to decide.
"It looks like you won't do it."
Jasper looked at Jacob's expression and said weakly.
"Because you don't want to go alone, I have to kick you myself."
Seeing Jasper's stern demeanor, Hector opened his mouth to protest beside him, "You're outrageous, Jasper!
Hector did not hold back. Why is Jasper so tough? He's still an outsider and I refuse to believe that Law's family will cut ties with us just because of him.'
They would apologize if that was what he wanted, but there was no way the Combe brothers would agree when told to cut off the source of their family fortune.
"I'm outrageous?"
Jasper looked at Hector curiously and replied in an unfazed tone, "From everyone here, you are the last person who has the right to tell me that I've gone too far."
Jacob restrains Hector before his sister can argue back and turns to look at Jasper. "We'll apologize if that's what you want, but I don't agree if you want us out of the media and entertainment business."
"Good, you're sprightly. I like talking to smart people." Jasper chuckled and pulled out his phone.
The first call he made was to Easy Media's general manager.
"There will be a meeting in the conference room tomorrow morning at eight and I want all the deputy managers of the department and up to attend. It will be a video conference with the City of Harbor Advent Entertainment Group, which
formerly known as Gladness Movies. Contact the technical department first so they can arrange everything."
Then, Jasper made a second phone call without even seeing the ugly expression the Combe brothers showed.
"Ryder, it's me, Jasper. There will be a video conference at 8am tomorrow with Easy Media Mainland that I have purchased. The meeting will mainly discuss the partnership between the two media companies to develop the entertainment industry in Mainland as well as the cancellation of three media companies in the Capital of Swallow."
Jacob looked at Jasper in great surprise.
Back then, he finally knew that Jasper was the hidden owner behind the Gladness Movies City Harbor!
The City Harbor entertainment industry was more than ten times more developed than the Mainland, and Gladness Movies was one of the top four companies in Harbor City. Of course, that fact took Jacob by storm.
While the three companies under Jacob's name did need his family's resources to thrive as they are today, comparing him to Gladness Movies would compare village communities to urban groups.
Unrivalled.
Not only that, because Jasper then turned to ask Henry.
"More than half of Mainland media companies partner with companies in Harbor City, hoping to swap places in the market with resources. Can you help me send word when you get back to Harbor City?"
Henry chuckled and replied, "Of course, their company in Harbor City is bound to be deadlocked. But I don't think you need my help, just asking Ryder to send word on your behalf should be good enough. Your name is stronger than mine in terms of a big blow at Harbor City."
Jasper laughed and twisted his wrist to show the back of his hand. "All right then. We're done here, let's go."
Henry got up and followed Jasper out. Jim quickly followed along as well.
As Jasper reached the door, he heard Jacob roar at him from behind.
"Do you really want to cross the line that far, Jasper? You won't get anything by corrupting the Combe family!"
