Jasper looked at Lan coldly. The man grew even more arrogant in the next second. "You really think that you can devour all my assets, don't you?"
lan snorted and returned to her seat. Taking his wine glass, he laughed out loud. "You said you had another trick up your sleeve? Look around you, Jasper. This is not the Capital of Swallow, nor is it the Southeast Province. I'll show you how powerful the Hull family is!"
"You're driving my son crazy! I will make you kneel before him and bow down apologizing! I'll destroy you!"
lan glared at Jasper through a transparent wine glass and sneered. Jasper is expressionless. "And this is just the first wave of my plan! I will continue to attack you from now on!"
"So, did you come here to show off or did you come to mock me?" Jasper looked at lan calmly as if whatever the man said was not enough to bother him.
"Or maybe, you came to negotiate?"
Lan's expression froze.
His eyes looked at Jasper, and at that moment, lan wanted nothing more than to look at Jasper's brain to see what was happening inside.
Jasper guessed it right. Lan did not come to brag or ridicule Jasper at all.
Everything like that was normal for a young man like Ben, but for lan who had seen everything from business struggles, she knew that she had to be careful until the last moment before the victory was confirmed.
The only reason he negotiated was because of the importance of the two ships being held in Harbor City!
lan scoffed and replied meaningfully, "It is always better to resolve conflicts than to add to them. You've seen my abilities, and to be honest, maybe I need to put in a little more effort to really destroy you. But there's no way you can destroy me."
"This is the difference between the two of us. We have a completely different foundation."
"You represent only yourself, and most of all Dawson Schuler".
"But I have businessman Haddock on my side. You fucked me up, you fucked up the entire Haddock Chamber of Commerce. Forget about you, even the Law family is not strong enough to fight them!"
lan took a deep breath and looked at Jasper coldly. Slowly, he began, "Don't disturb my two ships in Harbor City and I'll consider not killing you."
"Why? You scared?"
Jasper's three words had caused a drastic change in lan's expression.
Staring coldly at Jasper, lan snorted. "Fearful? Did you forget whose territory you're standing in now?"
"Of course, I know that this is the Hull family territory, but why? I'm here anyway, aren't I?"
Jasper shifted to a more comfortable posture and stared at lan before proceeding clearly.
"Let's be honest. This trick you're playing, it's nothing great at all, but since it's the best you can think of in such a short amount of time, isn't it?"
"I knew you were panicking, or you wouldn't come to me in a hurry and tell me so much after pulling out that little trick of yours."
Jasper then leaned slightly forward and chuckled, looking at Lan. "What makes you so panicked? Let me guess, huh?"
"Could it be because of your two ships being held in Harbor City? And the cost of smuggling goods?"
Every word Jasper pierced lan's heart like a dagger.
Jasper's words are right.
lan was well aware that she had smuggled things.
In the two cargo ships there is a total of contraband worth 100 million Dollars.
Considering the enormous value, lan was completely chaotic if revealed.
Other than the confusion in his heart, lan's expression remained indifferent.
Staring at Jasper indifferently, lan scoffed. "How vast is the imagination you have there. Do you think I'd be sitting here unscathed if I actually smuggled stuff?"
"You're too naive, Jasper. The world is more complicated than you think. All you see is a picture that everyone else wants you to see."
Jasper nodded in agreement. "You're right, the world is really complicated. Or at least, your acting skills have opened up a new world for me. I'd go and turn myself in or run away a long time ago if I were you."
Squinting his eyes at Jasper, lan replied calmly, "So, you're really going to fight until one of us is completely destroyed, then?!"
"I've already told you this in the Southeast Province." Jasper's expression was still emotionless.
"Then wait and see! Even if I lose everything in the process, I will still drag you along with me when I fall!" lan shouted and growled furiously.
"I'll step up my attacks on your business and Dawson's business soon. How long do you think you can hold on, hmm? Aweek? Two weeks?"
Jasper remained unfazed and carefree faced lan's aggressive remarks.
At that moment, lan's phone rang.
lan rejected him in annoyance but the other party kept calling again.
Frustrated, lan raised the call and shouted. "I'm busy right now!"
"Mr Hull, I'm in charge of the loan at the ICBS branch in Waterhoof City. I'm calling to tell you that our bank has found out about your company facing a severe financial and legal crisis."
"To ensure the security of our branch loans, we would like to inform you officially that our branch contract with your company will be terminated completely. You must repay the Somer's two billion Dollar loan within three business days!"
A tense voice echoed impolitely from the other end of the phone.
lan was glued to her place before she suddenly shouted furiously. "There is a one-year loan repayment period specified in the contract! There are still a few months before the deadline! you have no right to terminate the contract now!"
"Please read the contract carefully when you have time, Mr. Hull. The bank reserves the right to request an advance payment if your company participates in any illegal activity that could cause problems with the bank loan!"
"In addition to these phone calls, an official letter will also be faxed to your company. We ask that you treat this situation with care."
Then, the person hung up the phone on lan.
Enraged, lan glared at Jasper with great anger. "You're also behind this?!"
