"This is an unfortunate misunderstanding. I originally thought the Southface River was worth developing and had the south bank as my first choice. Unfortunately, luck is not on our side, and development rights for the southern edge have been claimed. So, we can only pick the second best option now and develop the northern edge."
"I never thought that you were responsible for developing the southern edge, Jasper."
Lan's face slightly smiled as she replied.
Jasper laughs. "I think that's a pretty good thing. I was just thinking about how unequivocal it would be if the northern edge became a remote area while the southern edge became a modern city after the project was completed. It is a good thing now that your company appears and expresses its interest in developing the northern edge."
"It's good if you think about things like that. However, please do not think we are targeting anyone by coming here. We didn't mean it that way" lan said with a smile.
Jasper laughs. "Of course not."
As the two chatted and laughed, everyone watching could feel the hidden side in a peaceful and carefree atmosphere.
Including Sean, there was a hostile look in the eyes of everyone from JW Real Estate as they looked at lan and Norman.
Obviously they came to take their business and launch a resistance against them. How could they come up with good intentions?
The atmosphere started to turn strange as well.
At that moment, the person in charge of the Nauritius City government smiled and said, "Master Laine, you are one of the rising young businessmen in the province. Now that Mr. Hull and Mr. Gardner have set their hopes on the future of the north bank, both sides will work well together."
Jasper glanced at the person in charge and smiled slightly as he said, "We're all just running our own affairs. Of course, I would never say no to anything that would help boost the province's economy."
The face of the person in charge sparkled when he heard that and said, "Mr Hull and Mr Gardner submitted a proposal some time ago. They plan to connect the northern and southern banks of the Southface River. A bridge had to be built across the river to make it happen. What do you think of it, Mr Laine?"
Jasper said with great appreciation, "That's a good idea! Once the bridge is built and opened for access, the northern and southern banks of the Southface River will be connected. That would greatly boost the economy of the northern bank. Of course, I agree to it."
Everyone with clear eyes could tell that lan and Norman had suggested to build a bridge so that they would also receive a share of the profits gained from the development of the south bank of the Southface River.
The northern edge is deserted due to the Southface River. This limited the development of several districts there.
Even a fool can say that the southern edge will become the capital of the new province once the project on the southern edge is completed. It will outperform all other regions in the province.
So, if the bridge is built, all the north edge needs to do is sit back and look beautiful to receive a share of the profits.
It made no sense for lan and Norman to leave with such a profit after Jasper invested so much money into the project.
Thus, even the people from the town hall were prepared to watch Jasper vehemently oppose and even quarrel with lan and Norman over the proposal.
However, Jasper surprised everyone by directly agreeing to the idea.
"Mr Laine, do you think so?" the person in charge asked.
Jasper smiled and said, "I am from the Southeast Province, and I feel responsible for the development of the province. Why did I reject the plan to develop the province further? Of course, I'm sincere about this."
The person in charge sighed. "alright then. The heroes are getting younger and younger. Nothing can match the amount of generosity you have, Mr. Laine."
Jasper chuckled as he glanced at lan and Norman before saying, "However, I have two small requests and suggestions."
lan and Norman, who had not spoken a word since, glanced at each other. Their hearts stopped beating.
They knew Jasper was not a fool and there was no way he didn't realize why they were proposing the construction of the bridge.
