Victory in Life
Chapter 631

Benjamin dumbfounded.

Everything still feels so unreal. Maybe he didn't even get out of bed this morning. Is he still dreaming?

Why did Colin suddenly change teams? Benjamin was even fired from his job and will be investigated?

Benjamin's heart was pounding as he subconsciously looked at Jasper. What he saw was Jasper who was equally calm and unwavering since he first walked through the door. He looked calm and indifferent in spite of the ridicule and insults thrown at his face. There was a layer of calmness on his face that was impossible to comprehend.

The mysteriousness and calmness that he radiated at first was nothing, although when Benjamin realized that Jasper had secretly controlled the entire situation in his grasp, everything suddenly seemed so terrifying.

Everything he and Mr. Monty did and said before must have seemed like a joke to Jasper, right?

Thinking of this, a truly desperate Benjamin seeks out his only backer for help, hoping Conrad can speak for him.

Conrad, however, was furious at this moment. He looked extremely grim as if a storm was coming. How could he possibly want to help her?

After throwing a few glances, Benjamin let out a loud sigh and said sadly, "I understand."

As Benjamin said those words, he stood up and walked out of the conference room.

His departure did not attract anyone's attention.

From the very beginning, Benjamin was an insignificant character sitting at this conference table. No one cares about him.

Everything Mitch said before had offended Dwayne, so he wouldn't be too careful anymore.

Dwayne is a senior mid-level executive at the Securities Regulatory Commission. He had his own connections and held authority, so even the strong boss of the listed company was very courteous to him.

Dwayne doesn't want to offend Mitch, the young lord of Harbor City, but that doesn't mean he can stand up to anything.

He enforced the law impartially so that no one could find fault with him. Dwayne refuses to believe that the Langdons came all the way to the Mainland to pick him up because of this.

"If that's the case, let's start voting for the second motion."

Dwayne was finishing his sentence when Conrad cut him off. "Wait."

Dwayne looked at Conrad. Although he is upset with Mitch, he still needs to show respect to Conrad.

Jasper chuckled and said, "Don't say that. The voting system in this shareholder meeting is open and fair. The whole process was recorded and filmed. The Securities Regulatory Commission will review this as well. How can we form a coalition?"

"It's for the good of the company, everyone."

Conrad sneered. "Because you've got the winning card, Jasper, then stop pretending. It'll just make me hate you even more."

As he said those words, Conrad turned to look at Colin and said calmly, "Master Walter, I don't know what Jasper has to offer you or what he's using to threaten you, but you must consider carefully when voting for the next motion."

"If you make the wrong choice, someone has to take responsibility."

Jasper said calmly, "Master Monty, there are many people watching and listening. Do you think it's right for you, as chairman, to publicly threaten your shareholders?"

Conrad sneered, "Are you scared?"

"Fearful?" Jasper smiled mesmerizingly and then looked at Dwayne before saying, "Master Martin, let's start giving voice."

Dwayne nodded. This time, everyone in the conference room, including himself, no longer thought Jasper was just playing around.

Even if Jasper was playing around, they were the ones who were eventually pulled onto the stage, whereas Jasper was the higher-ups sitting among the audience watching the show.

Dwayne sighed. From the bottom of his heart, he admired the ways and strategies Jasper had taken.

He has managed to deceive everyone with his strategy and withdraw all the support Conrad has. It's indeed... Cleverly!

"If that's the case, let's start voting on Mr. Laine's second motion about reorganizing the board of directors and removing Mr. Conrad from his position as chairman. The vote will start now."

"I object!" Conrad stared intently at Colin, gritting his teeth.

"I represent a retail investor holding a 6% stake to abstain from voting."

Dwayne looked at Colin. At this moment, he felt a little anxious as well, and his palms were drenched in sweat involuntarily.

He knew that Colin's answer would determine the direction of the shareholders meeting. He could also figure out the outcome of the match between Jasper and Conrad, geniuses from the Southeast Province who only appeared once every half century.
