Victory in Life
Chapter 523

In the same traditional residence in Suesville.

After receiving lan here as a guest a few days ago, Jasper also appeared.

Jasper always thought that Law's residence was large, but nothing compared to Gale's residence, there were five entrances and exits each, and a courtyard occupying acres of land.

It was clear that Gale had put a lot of his wealth in this residence.

Arriving at the entrance of the courtyard, Jasper saw the waiter waiting for him there.

After clarifying Jasper's identity, the maid then escorted Jasper to a residence that had a history of hundreds of years.

After seven to eight minutes of walking and passing two artificial hills, an artificial lake, and two lake pavilions, Jasper arrived at the inner courtyard.

Among the beautifully decorated buildings was another lake pavilion, Jasper saw Gale sitting.

Even though his head was full of gray hair, he was a strong man.

Gale was reading when Jasper walked over.

Glancing at the cover, Jasper realized that it was a thread-bound ancient book, a rare 'History of the North and South.

Jasper walked to the lake pavilion, and Gale closed the book before turning to smile at Jasper, "You arrived."

Despite not knowing whether Gale was a friend or an enemy, Jasper remained quite respectful towards the spiritual leader of the Haddock Chamber of Commerce, he nodded and replied, "Yes, I arrived."

Gale hummed and lowered his head to read his book again, he simply pointed to the chair opposite him and spoke, "Sit down."

Jasper sat in front of Gale as he was being ushered in, and there was a small round stone table between the two.

Gale continued to focus on his book for half an hour while Jasper enjoyed the coffee served by the waiters, he did not mind the fact that he had to wait.

Half an hour later, Gale finally put down the book and sighed, "I'm getting older now, there are times when I end up forgetting something while I'm doing something else."

"Especially in terms of reading, the interesting plot takes all my focus, I'm sorry if I've kept you waiting, Jasper."

Jasper smiled, "You still insist on reading every day, Old Man Hurlbutt, you are a role model for young people like me, I am honored to learn from you, I didn't feel like I was made to wait at all"

Gale smiled and put down the book, "Among these compiled northern and southern histories is the Story of Casey Charles, the white horsemen troops are truly mesmerizing."

"Now that I think about it, you have a lot in common with Casey Charles, Jasper."

Jasper immediately replied, "You're too kind, Old Man Hurlbutt, the white-robed General Casey Charles is a legendary general, how could I possibly compare to him?"

Gal smiled, "The historian claims that Casey Charles was a cautious man, poorly dressed and uninterested in musical instruments, he was a terrible archer and even worse on horseback, however, he was great at raising soldiers and urging them to do their best"

"You, on the other hand, are humble and self-effacing, you never show off your abilities and while you're ambitious and young, you never hold them over anyone's head, in terms of business tricks, you understand what people want and you're good at planning it"

"Don't you feel like you two have a lot in common?"

Jasper looked at Gale and replied calmly, "I am honored that you have given so much attention to me, Old Master Hurlbutt."

Under Gale's snow-white brows were a pair of wise eyes that were now filled with intent as he spoke, "I didn't know much about you at first and then lan came looking for me to ask for my help"

"I became interested in the young man who managed to corner my disciple, so I asked someone to ask me a question."

"It's okay if I stay stupid, but the more I hear about you, the more I'm interested, you're an attractive young man... The Law family appreciates you a lot, doesn't it?"
