Victory in Life

Victory in Life
Chapter 469

Sean and several executives looked at each other.

They all understood the reason behind the actions of their opponents.

The development of the banks of the Southface River is a huge project. They would lose millions if they stopped development for one day.

No one would willingly stop construction unless the situation was dire.

However, their supply of building materials had all been cut off. It is impossible not to suspend a construction site under these circumstances.

However, Jasper did not let them wait too long. He immediately drew up a plan.

"There is a supplier of building materials called Ambition Corporation in Brac Province. The boss of this company is Xavier Johnson. He's one of my partners. Later, the head of the procurement department had to contact him and ask him to supply us with the building materials from the Brac Province market."

The head of the procurement department was overjoyed to hear this. "Don't worry, Mr. Laine. I will handle this task well" he said immediately.

Jasper massaged his temple and said in a cold tone, "I've found the person you need, and I'll give you his contact information later. All you need to do is make some phone calls and assess the quality of the supplies. If you can't even do something like that, I'll ask you to pack up and go home."

The procurement manager instantly flushed. Facing awkwardly, he could not say a word.

"There's something else too."

Jasper didn't look at him anymore. While it is not his fault that the supply of building materials was cut off, this issue revealed that the procurement department of JW Real Estate was woefully inadequate.

They did not even plan to look for another supplier after the original source decided on their supply. That is the chief responsibility of the department.

But this is not the time to punish them. It should wait until everything is settled.

"Since the Stellar Company decides on our steel supply, we should contact Fortress Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. They are also one of the largest steel-making factories in the country. Even without the Stellar Company, we can get a supply of steel the same way."

The procurement manager hesitated before saying, "Mr Laine, we should get quotes from these two companies when we choose a supplier. Quotes from Fortress Iron and Steel Co. Ltd. 20% higher than Stellar Company. They also gave us no room for negotiation. Therefore, we ended up choosing Stellar Company."

"If they find out that we're looking for them after our inventory is cut by the Stellar Company, I'm afraid it'll be hard to get a good price."

Jasper waved his hand and said, "It's okay. Agree as long as the price is not too excessive. If you're not sure, you can discuss the matter with Vice President Tucker. Our priority right now is to solve the problems we face with building materials. While money, or a few million dollars difference will not have much impact."

"Also, is the head of the legal department here?" ask Jasper.

A middle-aged woman, wearing glasses, quickly stood up. There was a cold and hard expression on his face. "Mr Laine, I'm Sarah Lund, the manager of JW Real Estate's legal department," he said.

Jasper nodded. Among the several department heads, she was the one who was the most satisfied with Sarah Lund's appearance. He always acted calmly and in control.

"We will go through proper legal procedures when examining the contracts we have signed with the original suppliers, regardless of the length of these contracts. No need to send them a lawyer's letter. The other party would not care at all, and there was no need to discuss it further. We will sue them, and reject all settlement out of court."

"As a result of supply cuts, the losses our company faces must be returned from their compensation. This lawsuit will be a big battle. Do not refrain from causing a big commotion. The bigger the commotion we cause, the better for us."

After noting what Jasper said, Sarah replied, "Mr Laine, if we take action on your terms, this lawsuit will be delayed for a long time. We're going to incur relatively large costs too."

"The lawsuit will consist only of the first trial, the second trial, and the final verdict. I have a lot of time on my hands. I have a lot of money too. Through these lawsuits, I want to tell all the companies we work with that JW Real Estate will never give in to such malicious and lowly methods."

"Whoever dares to breach their contract with JW Real Estate must be prepared to face our lawsuits to the end."

Dawson has allocated office space for him in JW Real Estate. The room was usually empty except when the janitor came to clean the room. However, the room was equipped with extensive facilities. There is even a new television in it.

He turned on the television. Provincial news channels are playing now.

As expected, the new content revolves around the development of the north bank of the Southface River.

Norman Gardner is on the screen. He stood his back to the place of the foundation laying ceremony, which had just ended. "The main goal we want to achieve through the development of the North Bank is to revitalize the impoverished economic area on the northern edge of the province" he said with a cheerful smile on his face.

"In addition, according to our plan, the North Bank will be transformed into a city center that will integrate everyday entertainment, and recreation. It won't lose to the South Bank!"

"I believe that the North Bank will surely shine brilliantly in the near future."

The house phone on the office desk suddenly rang.

The call was from the receptionist.

"Mr Laine, Mr. Lan Hull said that he's here to visit you."

Jasper raised his eyebrows. He originally intended to turn off the television. However, he changed his mind and put it under control. "Let him in" he said.

Not long after, lan Hull entered Jasper's office under the guidance of an employee.

lan entered the room with a joyful smile spreading across her face. After seeing the news broadcast on television, his smile instantly widened. He reached out to Jasper and said, "Mr Laine, are you interested in our North Bank project as well?"

Jasper laughs. "I was born and raised in the southeastern district of this province. In the meantime, you've come a long way from Andros to develop the relatively underdeveloped North Bank of the province, Mr. Hull. Since you brought benefits to the Southeast district, I have no reason not to turn a blind eye to this project" he said.

lan smiled cheerfully and gave her thumb. "As expected of you, Mr. Laine. You are truly a generous person" he commented.

"Mr Hull, you didn't come here just to tell me this, did you?" ask Jasper.

lan sat on the sofa and patted the armrests. "You really know how to enjoy yourself, Mr. Laine. This sofa must have been brought in from abroad. It's not cheap" he commented.

Jasper looked at Lan calmly without saying a word.

lan laughed when she realized that Jasper was not playing with her. "Actually, I came here today to ask if you are interested in selling your project in the South Bank to me, Mr. Laine," he told Jasper.

Jasper raised his eyebrows and chuckled. "You have a pretty big appetite, Mr. Hull."

"After all, business is business. At first, I came just to observe the scene without any other intention. However, the more I looked around, the more I realized that the South Bank project really had great commercial value. After all, it will be difficult for your construction site to continue its construction work now," lan said indifferently.

"Why didn't you sell me the project instead of surviving without results?"

"What makes you think that it would be difficult for my construction site to continue its construction work?" Jasper asked in a flat tone.

lan laughed out loud. "Mr Laine, we're both smart people. Let's talk straightforwardly. Without building supplies, does your construction site intend to do construction with stones collected from the roadside?" She asked.

"Mr Hull, so how much do you plan to get my project?" ask Jasper.

lan thought for a moment before replying, "300 million dollars."
