In contrast to the shock and excitement on the man's face, what was on Wendy's face was simply confusion.
The man did seem familiar to him, but he had forgotten who he was.
When the man saw that Wendy had not said anything else, he pointed to himself and said, "It's me, Jeremy Morris! I was a few months older than you when you first started working at Commercial Bank. I taught you most of the work there."
Even in his wildest dreams Jeremy never imagined he could meet the woman he yearned for day and night again.
He has been successful in his career lately, having secured a major project in the province. Now that he's reunited with the girl of his dreams, Jeremy's eyes sparkle as he takes pride in his success both in his career and in his relationships.
Wendy exclaimed, "Oh, it's you, Jeremy! It's nice to meet you here. How small this world is.”
Jeremy chuckles and hands his place in line. As he walked towards Wendy, he said, Wendy, so many of your comrades were saddened when you resigned. I resigned also a week after you left."
Wendy said politely, "You're very competent, Jeremy. I'm sure you'll do well wherever you go."
Jeremy chuckled and said happily, "Not much, but I'm fine. My family is in engineering, and we managed to secure a major deal in the province through several connections and contacts. I'm in charge of that project right now."
"Wendy, I'm not sure if you've heard of it or not, but it's the Southface River project in this province. The company I worked for as general manager was in charge of building the pedestrian green lanes. It is an investment that requires tens of millions of dollars. We'll be able to earn quite a lot of money from that project."
When Wendy hears that Jeremy is one of the many contractors involved in the Southface River project, her fondness for Jeremy increases. After all, he works for his lover.
"I heard the prospect of the Southface River project is pretty good" Sally said with a smile.
"So many people are fighting for the opportunity to build that pedestrian green path. Fortunately, my family had some connections to one of the managers at the Real Estate agency. That's how we managed to get that deal."
Jeremy meant nothing by what he said, but those who listened heard the deeper meaning of his words.
Wendy knew that Jasper placed a strong focus on the integrity of the company. He has stressed in several meetings that no one is allowed to withdraw anything.
All company projects will go through a public offering before they can proceed to the next stage.
However, from what Jeremy said, he seemed to get the project through the back door because of his relationship?
That's not unusual.
Wendy's facial expression was a bit furious. He'll try and figure out who Jeremy is related to when Sally talks first.
"You got this project through the back door?"
Sally knew that her son was in charge of the Southface River project, but she had no idea how important this particular project was.
When he first heard from Jeremy that he was the contractor for the subsidy project in the Southface River project, his fondness for people working under his son increased, as did Wendy. However, she soon becomes displeased once she hears she's getting the project through the back door.
