The meeting of Jasper and Penelope was purely coincidental.
As far as Jasper was concerned, helping Penelope, was the final farewell to her previous life and her past.
After all, Jasper was not a heartless person.
While the two did not share a very happy past, Penelope, if anything, was still the longest-serving woman by Jasper's side.
Now that they each have their own lives to live, the least Jasper can do is say goodbye to that era of his life.
However, Jasper never expected Penelope to bring such an important message to him.
"Called Terence or something?"
"Then, who else but Terence Laine?"
Of course, the person Jasper first thought of when he heard Penelope's words were the two brothers, Terence and Darrel Laine.
Traveling down memory lane, Jasper remembers Terence never showing himself again after leaving dinner in a huff yesterday. Meanwhile, Darrel was living in Tefa City the entire time.
On his return home, Jasper calls Julian.
"Go to the Shangri-La Hotel to see if Terence is back. If she comes back, I need to know when she's back and who she's been in contact with since she came back."
After receiving Jasper's instructions, Julian nodded and immediately went to investigate.
"Wait." Jasper called Julian back.
"Stay low profile. Let no one know about your investigation" Jasper reminded.
Julian smiled and turned to leave.
A little over an hour later, Julian returned when night had just arrived.
"I've found what you want to know, Jasper. Terence came back around midnight yesterday. There's been a record of him at the hotel since he used his identity card to check into the room."
Jasper slightly furrowed his brows and asked, "Where did Terence go yesterday? Who's he meeting?"
Julian shook his head. "All I found was that he had bought a ticket to the provincial capital after he left dinner yesterday, then he took the last train back. But who he met during that departure, I don't know."
Jasper replied expressionlessly, "Alright, understand."
After Julian left, Jasper sat alone in his study immersed in his thoughts.
Jasper's instincts tell him that Terence went to the provincial capital for some reason.
Maybe to meet what he called the great man.
However, after he pondered it, Jasper discovered that he could not think of any great people who wanted to destroy him.
Finally, Jasper decided to call Dawson.
"Uncle Schuler" said Jasper.
Dawson smiled. "What's up, Jasper? Did something happen?"
Jasper laughs. "Nothing happened. I just want to check what you've been doing lately."
"Oh, and are there any activities in the provincial capital lately?"
Dawson was stunned for a moment before he replied, "I didn't hear anything. Everything has been pretty quiet recently."
Jasper's furrowed brows loosened and he smiled. "Good then."
Dawson could clearly sense that something was happening, so he asked solemnly, "Have you received any news of something happening?"
Jasper replied, "Someone may be targeting me, but I'm not yet fully convinced of this. I need to be on my guard a little longer before I can confirm this matter."
