Dawson nodded in satisfaction when he saw how confident Jasper was.
"If you were in the business world, you would meet all sorts of people, including nobles and smugglers. Competition among your peers is inevitable."
"It may be healthy competition between businesses, or it may be malicious competition with the intent to suppress. There's no way you're the only person in the industry. Competition exists as long as you have a co-worker."
"The competition itself is not scary, but you must always make sure that you never underestimate your enemies and confuse yourself. No matter who the competitors are, you must make sure that you have a thorough understanding of them before fighting against them. Your mindset is the most important thing here."
Dawson gave his advice diligently and said kindly, "If you're going to take action on your own, I can help by donating ideas, but it's mostly up to you to handle them."
Jasper understands that Dawson gives him the opportunity to gain more experience in business battles, which is why he does not reject humbly. He smiled and said, "Alright, you should make use of this time to rest. I'll come to you if I face any further problems."
Dawson smiled and said, "You have proven your ability and vision in making money. You're much stronger than anyone I've ever met, but you still need a little practice in business battles. I'll help keep an eye on things while I still can. You don't have to worry."
Dawson's phone rang while he was still talking.
It was a phone call from the executives at JW Real Estate.
A moment later, Dawson hung up. The expression on his face became grim.
"People from Waterhoof City are quite aggressive."
Wendy hurriedly asked, "What's wrong? What did they say?"
Dawson said, "The person in charge of the Nauritus City government just called. About how the company that wanted to develop the south bank intended to contact me because they were planning to build a bridge across the Southface River that would connect the south and north bank."
"Building bridges? Shouldn't it be done by the city government? Since when is the company responsible for that? Our main goal as a real estate company is to earn money, and the bridge costs at least a billion dollars. Why should we fund this?" Wendy asked angrily.
Dawson smiled as he said, "The Nauritius City Government thought it would definitely be a good thing if the southern edge was developed as well. Not only will it build a better image for themselves, but they will also be able to boost the economy on the northern edge, which is currently relatively underdeveloped. There's no reason why they don't want us to collaborate."
"This bridge is probably one of the things real estate agents in Waterhoof City use to tease the town hall."
Jasper laughed lightly as he said, "What are the calculations. They will be the only ones who benefit from this bridge, but they want us to fund some of it as well. In the end, we get nothing when they get all the praise. Do they think everyone's stupid?"
Dawson nodded. He's very impressed.
He said in a low voice, "But after all, developing the northern edge is a project that neither the Nauritius City government nor the Southeastern Provincial City government can resist as it will boost their economy. We've got the shorter end of the stick."
"No problem. They can approach us as they please. When will that happen?" ask Jasper.
If Lan and Norman appeared at his doorstep, there was no reason for Jasper to curl up behind the door.
Therefore, Jasper never considered rejecting the approach.
Jasper thought for a moment before he lifted his head and said, "I'm fine with the timing, but I have to decide where we'll meet."
Dawson raised his eyebrows slightly.
Jasper continued, "We will establish a location at the development site on the south bank of the Southface River. If we are going to discuss the development of the southern and northern edges, we have to do it where it happened. What can we discuss in the office?"
Dawson smiled and said, "Alright, that's a good idea. It's all done then!"
"I'll have someone return the phone immediately and inform the Nauritius City government of our decision. Let's eat now."

Jasper spent some time with Wendy before getting into the car and driving towards the development site.
Wendy's not coming with him. Dawson has assigned the vice president of the real estate company in charge of the Southface River project to work with Jasper. The main reason is that an executive who knows how the project develops should be there if any operational issues arise.
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Laine." Vice president Sean Tucker. He is an executive that Dawson paid handsomely to rent from a state-owned real estate company.
Jasper smiled as he shook his hand and said, "It's nice to meet you, Vice President Tucker. I need to trouble you in answering any questions that may be there regarding business today. I'm not too familiar with that aspect."
Jasper rarely appears in JW Real Estate, but Sean knows the whereabouts of this most powerful boss.
Dawson is just the CEO of a real estate company on paper. In fact, all of those shares are under JW Investment Company owned by Jasper and on behalf of Wendy. So, Jasper was his real boss in practice.
Therefore, Sean showed a respectful attitude as he hurriedly said, "That's my duty. I'll do my best."
Dawson's driver was in charge of driving them. Normally, Jasper would have Julian act as his bodyguard and driver every time he came out. However, Jasper had allowed Julian to take care of his sister all along.
A bone marrow match has been found for Julian's sister, and she will have her surgery in two days. Not only did Jasper pay for everything, but he also used Dawson's connections to form the best team of specialists in the country to perform the surgery.
Jasper also gives Julian some extra money to use to take care of his older sister, Cathy.
