Victory in Life
Chapter 46

74-75

"Home? Where are your parents?" Wendy quickly asked.

Jasper nodded and replied, "My mom called me this morning and said that my neighbor had decided to build a house. They took more than half of my family's land. My father went to talk to them about it and they almost beat him up. My mom wants me to go and see her."

"What kind of neighbor is that? It was intimidating!" Wendy spoke in anger.

"There's nothing wrong with building a house, but you can't just take someone else's land and then beat him up."

"That's why I'm putting off business in the Cavern city. I have to go back and deal with the neighbors first. Maybe I'll take the opportunity to move mom and dad to a new villa as well, so they can relax and not worry" Jasper said.

Wendy agreed. "I'm coming with you!"

"certain. You're gonna have to meet my parents sooner or later." Jasper finally smiled.

Wendy flashes. "Why do I feel there is more meaning in his words? I just don't like to see people being stepped on, even if they're your parents, don't drive too fast, I'm fixing my makeup."

"There are still two more hours before we arrive, we have time" Jasper replied in despair.

"Hey, slow. I'll make you pay if my lipstick gets crooked."

"I'll buy you 100 more.

"You think you can do what you want just because you're rich?"

"I'm sorry, but you can do whatever you want when you're rich".

Rarely does the village of Jasper Laine have visitors, let alone someone with Bentley. Even the most knowledgeable person in the village went to live in the city for a few years, if none of them knew what Bentley was.

However, it was quite an incredible feat to own a car during such a time.

Therefore, the moment Jasper's car entered the village, it was suddenly surrounded by a large group of children. Even the adults in the village looked at the car with curiosity and envy.

Just like the other villages in the country, most of the residents in Laine village have the surnames mentioned above and are mostly related to each other in some ways.

Jasper's father, Charlie Laine, and Mother, Sally Lard, are famous in her impoverished village for their poverty.

Despite knowing the Jasper family's unfavorable condition, Wendy still couldn't help but be shocked as they walked along the winding mountain roads. They arrived at a small four-walled house.

According to Wendy, the barely standing house that was old enough to be a relic like this was something she only saw on television and pictures.

But it was Jasper's house.

The children were still chatting with each other as they surrounded Bentley, touching him with incomparable curiosity.

The adults watched Wendy get out of the car and were immediately stunned.

"Well, whose daughter is that? It's so pretty."

"Very pretty. I've never seen such a pretty girl before."

"He must be from the city. Look at her clothes, I've never seen one before."

" Ck, ck, there has never been such a beautiful woman in our village before. But why did he go to Charlie's house."

In the middle of the conversation, Jasper got out of the car.

Everyone is surprised.

"That's ... That's Jasper, isn't it?"

"That's her. I heard he worked in the city after university. His parents even sold their house so he could buy a house there."

"Why did he come back today? Is that beautiful woman his girlfriend?"

"Surely about his father who was almost beaten up!"

"Look at that car. It must cost tens of thousands. His family was so broke that they even sold his house. How does he have the money to buy a car?"

"Jasper?!"

Jasper turned around and looked at the woman in simple clothes and whose hair was already more than half white. He also saw his old features caused by the wind and sun.

"Mom," Jasper stepped over and spoke regretfully, "Sorry I came late, ma'am."

Be it in his previous life or now, the only person who gave everything for him was his parents.

When she was obsessed with Penelope, she had sucked every penny of her parents' hard work just to spoil her. She eventually suffers, and she drags her parents into a difficult life as well.

She ended up changing everything in this life, and while she was supposed to bring her parents to the city to take care of them a long time ago, she ended up being delayed by various things.

Seeing the face of his aging mother more than he remembered, Jasper felt unspeakable guilt.

Sally did not know the turmoil in Jasper's heart, so she simply replied, "It's important that you come back."

"This is my friend, Wendy." Jasper pulls Wendy, who is somehow too shy to show her face, and introduces her.

"Hello, Mrs Laine." Wendy greeted shyly.

Wendy was extremely beautiful, and Sally had never seen such a beautiful girl after spending most of her life in the village overlooking the ground.

Watching the two interact, there was no way he could not see the relationship they shared.

He's much better than Penelope.

"Hi," Sally immediately replied, a little nervous.

However, he felt a little confused. Why did her son change girlfriends? At that time, he would even marry Penelope.

Although he wanted to ask, there were too many people who were there and he did not think this was the place to ask.

"Where's Dad?" Jasper recalled the situation.

Sally's expression was one of her worry expressions when Jasper heard it. "He was with the village chief. Your aunt's family was there too. They're talking about it."

"What to talk about?" Jasper frowned and said, "They built their house on our land

They even started hitting people yesterday. There's nothing to talk about here."

Then, Jasper went to the village chief's house.

Sally and Wendy quickly followed.

Joined in the hustle and bustle, the surrounding villagers come to witness what happened.

Jasper ignored them.

Sally turned to look at Jasper. "Don't be rash, Jasper. You know how stubborn your father is. Just try to calm him down, okay? Don't make this bigger than it already is."

"Mother." Jasper frowned. "They've trampled us here. His family has never respected us at all in the past, and the fact that they do such a thing is sufficient proof that we are not important to them. I don't hesitate to make a fuss."

"You're a bad boy.* Sally is upset. "Why do you look like your father? They are your neighbors and cousins. You'll only embarrass yourself if this gets out of hand. Besides, we'll suffer in the end if we offend your aunt."

"I know you're worried, Mom." Jasper sighed. "It's just about me borrowing 10,000 of them to buy a house back then, isn't it? I came back today mainly to handle this once and for all."

"Huh?" Sally looked at her son in shock, but Jasper just walked away without much explanation.

Wendy smiled at Sally and said, "Don't worry, Mrs Laine. Your son has made quite a name for himself now."

Sally still didn't know how she should face Wendy.

On the other hand, he saw the girl was amazing, like an artist you see on television.

On the other hand, he wondered what had happened to Penelope.

Not knowing what to say at that moment, Sally could only smile and nod. "Ah, I understand, I understand."
