Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 20: The Unexpected Result, Part 2

...—Maidenhair City of Magic, Islan—...

The Sacred Tree of Maidenhair. Anyone who has ever opened ancient books/manuscripts of world history, of course they will know the tree. It was the first life on the surface of the world. Once upon a time, the tree was worshipped as a god. However, worship of the tree began to cease as it shrank and became the kingdom of the fairies. Historically, the tree disappeared more than three thousand years ago.

Not long ago, the tree grew again. Legend has it that the Maidenhair Sacred Tree is the tallest object on the surface of the world. However, the tree that grew in an instant in the middle of the city that was also standing in an instant was no taller than some of the peaks of the Amerlesia mountain. Even so, the fact does not necessarily eliminate the tree as a sacred tree—it does not violate history; the tree was indeed shrunk.

According to reports from Commander Reinhart and Commander Cleria, the tree grew shortly after they lost to members of Deus Chaperon. Like those who wanted to meet the fairy queen, the members of Deus Chaperon were also. There is no definite theory as to the cause of the re-growth of the Maidenhair Sacred Tree. All that might know the answer is the fairy queen and maybe some members of Deus Chaperon.

If it wasn't for Jenny's confirmation that had just come out to check her certainty, Artemys wouldn't have believed she was now inside the legend tree.

Xavier had indeed said that they were in Eileithyia, and there was only one owner of that name that Artemys knew: the fairy queen. However, Artemys did not see a single fairy. Jenny made sure there were no fairies in this place. Hence, it could be a false assumption that the woman sitting quietly on the throne was the fairy queen However, after Jenny confirmed they were inside the Sacred Tree of Maidenhair, she said, there is no doubt that she is the queen of the fairies.

The question is, how did Xavier know the fairy queen? How do they have a close relationship? Does Xavier have a relationship with the New World Order? Or is it just a coincidence that they are in close contact?

If Xavier has a hidden agenda, it doesn't make sense that kid brought him here. It was as if it was deliberately bringing in the enemy to the secret headquarters. Xavier sometimes did contradictory things, but he couldn't possibly make such a fatal mistake. Therefore, it is less convincing if he has an agenda.

Ah, there's a possibility that Xavier brought him here to bring himself to this conclusion. But it's more unlikely. From Xavier's gurgle while transporting himself and Jenny here, Xavier did it on impulse; he wasn't in a state of planning anything. Xavier doesn't look like a blunder.

It seems I must hear the response of the fairy queen, Inner Artemys after a long time of thought, her eyes stared intensely at the low-postured woman.

...—————...

Eileithyia felt a pair of eyes looking at her intensely. His eyes were closed, indeed, but his perception was extremely sharp. Moreover, Eileithyia was trying to find peace in silence. A slight disturbance that disturbed the silence appeared, Eileithyia would notice it. Therefore, with a slight annoyance the queen opened her eyes.

“What?” There was no softness in Eileithyia's voice. “Say quickly; I still want to enjoy silence without interruption.”

“...How does Your Majesty get to know Xavier? Xavier said this is a safe place for us. That shows he trusts His Majesty enough.”

“Hm...” Eileithyia did not know what to answer the question. He was too lazy to talk at length. So, after a few tens of seconds of silence, here's the response: “We fought. I'm losing. That's it.”

“...When Does Your Majesty and Xavier fight?”

“Lupa.”

“…”

“…”

“…”

...—————...

Artemys did not feel annoyed by the uncooperativeness of the fairy queen. Artemys was almost never upset in his life. He cannot expect everyone to fulfill his wishes. Although he knew he could persuade Eileithyia to open her mouth if she tried, Artemys decided not to. He could ask Xavier directly.

If they are going to get married, if they are going to form a family of their own, it is very important to make sure there are no secrets between them.

...—Cestapola, Matepola— Province...

Xavier let his body lie on the bed in one of the luxurious inns in Cestapola. Although he had already removed all the injuries on the body with [Reverse Law], stamina could not be restored to its prime condition. So too with the amount of mana. He needed to rest his body to restore himself to perfect condition.

At least, that was what he had intended to do before he suddenly remembered that he had left Artemys and Jenny in Eileithyia's place.

Xavier spontaneously sat himself down, his eyes widening in shock. How is…? How could he bring Artemys there? Xavier couldn't help but hold his hand from patting his own forehead.

How stupid!

Xavier was so damned for himself, he could not stop thinking until he brought Artemy to Eileithyia. Indeed, the keblunderan was understandable because the situation he was in a hurry. However, it does not necessarily solve problems that should not have happened. Xavier could imagine Artemys looking at him demanding an explanation.

“Xavier? What was? Why are you expressing yourself as if you were caught cheating?”

Xavier spontaneously looked at Monica who had just entered the room with two bags of food. “I just remembered something,” he said, ignoring the bad questions Monica. “I have to go now, but I'll be right back. Fifteen minutes at most. Really.”

Before Monica could respond, Xavier had disappeared from the bed where she was sitting.

Monica's forehead frowned, annoyance clearly emanating from her face. However, the former man was quickly able to calm down. He put food on the table between his bed and Xavier's bed, then he laid himself on the bed. He is certainly not sleepy. It's not even noon yet. However, he needed to lie down to not upset her again.

...—Magic City Maidenhair—...

When Xavier arrived at the room where he had left Artemys and Jenny, he found them sitting quietly on a wooden bench on the edge of the wall. They had not felt his presence; Xavier hid his presence. However, Eileithyia who was sitting quietly on her throne immediately opened her eyes. It was spontaneous for Artemys and Jenny to look in the same direction that Eileithyia looked at.

“Don't come back here with anyone else,” Eileithyia said in a voice that hid a little annoyance. “I don't want the peace here to be disturbed. If you do it again, I'll put up a barrier so you can't come here anymore. Now take them away; I need the perfect peace.”

Eileithyia shut her mouth and instantly closed her eyes, beginning to dissolve back in the silence she so loved.

“I will try not to forget that,” said Xavier while accompanied by a sigh, then quickly his feet arrived beside Artemys and Jenny who had stood up. “We talked in your palace,” he said, and then they just disappeared.
