Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 14: Turning Point, Part 5

Xavier looked intensely at the eleventh person who no doubt was a famous Knight Templar warrior by name. True to his assumption, they wanted to create a teleportation magic circle to shorten the distance that their main force had to travel. That meant that the troops who wanted to conquer the Favilifna Kingdom wanted to make an invasion as quickly as possible.

“What do you think? Should we kill them?” xavier asked Lilithia who was already aligning herself with him. “Their captivity is not bad either. Division 3 can use them to get information.”

“That person looks like their senior. He's all we need to hold on to. Others just finish.”

“That's a better option.” Xavier landed his feet on the grassy ground, walking towards the nearby soldier who was motionless due to his magic. Perhaps one of them had an interesting magic, Xavier's inner self while suffocating the warrior before him. “I have no hatred for you, but you certainly understand that being a soldier means being ready to die at any time. Goodbye, and I hope your family can live well without you.”

Xavier absorbed the warrior's soul and magic with a single pull. He was not worried that Lilithia would realize what she was doing. She was not Vermyna who now had a [Complete Sensory]; most likely no one will be able to know what he is doing ‒ no one will realize he has additional magic if he does not show it.

But Xavier will not take any risks. The black flames lit up and devoured the man just as his magic and soul finished he absorbed. That way, he did not need to accept the question of how the soldier could die just because he giggled slowly. Xavier did the same for the other nine warriors.

Combined capacity where they are not even half capacity****me when I was twelve years old, inner Xavier estimated mana*nya capacity after absorbing ten souls with Magic Container. But my teleportation magic has grown significantly stronger. Not bad*.

“Why did you finish them off one by one when you could finish them all off at once?” lilithia asked with her eyebrows raised, she landed in front of the remaining Knights Templar warriors—making the soldier's face lose color.

“After all,” said Xavier accompanied by a faint smile, “they are warriors who only carry out the tasks charged to them. The minimum we have to do is give their deaths respect, especially now that we are not on the battlefield.”

Of course it's a lie. Xavier...response? Oh, that only applies to those who deserve respect. There is no respect for those who do not deserve it.

Lilithia simply flicked her shoulders indifferently, putting the rest of the soldiers into her special mirror.

“Come go. We'll finish everything tonight. Tomorrow morning we return to Nevada with Elmira too.”

...* * *...

A quiet night. Silent. Peace. A good night to rest. Even in the open without a solid artificial roof, the soldiers who slept first fell asleep soundly. They all believe they are okay. There's nothing to be afraid of. They will go through the night without any distractions.

Any soldier who witnesses their courage will lose his guts. Just imagine, if any ordinary human could sit quietly among the lion herd, would any other ordinary human would dare to tease that human? Unless he had a deadly weapon or he did have a problem with brain smoothness, an ordinary human would think three times to look for trouble with the person.

Unfortunately for the Knights Templar and the Ekralina Army, Xavier and Lilithia were far from ordinary words.

Lilithia's physical strength and body speed indeed could not be put at the level of Xavier and Kanna, but her magic wiped out the difference. Evillia had the most destructive magic (putting aside Supreme Magic [Complete Annihilation]), but the elf queen's magic was inflexible. Unlike Lilithia who controls gravity. As long as her opponent had no way of negating her gravity, it was hard to imagine Lilithia being defeated—no matter if her opponent was at a level far above Lilithia.

Really, luck is not on the side of the soldiers tonight—maybe their luck has been absorbed by the plontos-headed general who is in the north direction there.

Buuum!

Xavier dropped his body firmly right on the outer edge of the tent formation the soldiers had set up. The sound vibration that encounters both feet and the ground causes momentarily drives away the silence. The soldiers immediately panicked. Some darted toward the commander, some immediately woke up the soldiers who were not disturbed by the debuman Xavier landing.

“Good night, soldiers!” exclaim Xavier while removing the dust that landed caused by the wind wave—ia get [Wind Magic] from one of the soldiers. “Sorry to interrupt your night of rest, but, don't you feel like you've entered this region without notice? Warning from Her Majesty Elmira cent Nix Favilifna: return or die, the absolute decision is in your hands.”

Silence greeted Xavier, then laughter filled the air after the soldiers looked at each other.

“So, that traitorous woman nicknamed the Holy Queen told you to dress up as her commander of the Imperial Army to intimidate us? He could too. However, Young man, what you're doing is pure stupidity. We can't possibly be fooled by gibberish like you.”

“You only come to take your life,” timpal other soldiers, who then just accompanied back by laughter.

Xavier let the hundreds of laughing soldiers be as happy as they were. It would be their last laugh tonight, hence there was no need to stop at all. Comforting themselves before dying, Xavier assumes it is what they do.

“Young people, return to your home village now. Our captain is not a kind person, he won't give you a chance to leave. But I am different. I see you have a bright future waiting. Don't you waste it.”

“Ho, you guys will be kind enough to let me go?” xavier asked with a comforted smile.

“Khahahaha, look, guys, he thinks I'm serious! Khahahahaha The soldier laughed until he coughed, some people behind him laughed and said to the commander. “I feel sorry for you,” continued the soldier while shaking his head, then his expression suddenly serious, “but too bad you have to die here. You guys, attack him!”

“Prepare, Bedbah Boy!” shouting a group of soldiers simultaneously, they ran forward with each weapon outstretched.

“I've given you a warning,” said Xavier slowly. “What happened after this, you have only the right to blame yourself. Go, Knight Templar. Let's see how good you guys are!”
