...—few moments before—...
When Xavier arrived at the location, he did not see Kanna—the existence of the princess was not felt at all.
What greeted him were unsurprising individuals. Menez sat on a pillar of land, right next to Luciel who was standing. Next to Luciel, Vermyna sat quietly on the majestic throne. Evillia stood to the left of the queen, her eyes looking murderfully at Vermyna. There are also other vampires. Lumeira was there, her eyes growling at Menez. And in the distance, Xavier's blood-red irises caught Heckart's figure without the mask talking to Elena.
“I see you have listened to my advice, eh, Xavier?” Vermyna opened her voice. “But it looks like you should leave it now. At that time I did not think of joining the New World Order, but that changed after Menez kidnapped Alstroemeria and escaped from the Vampire Kingdom. Abandon your childish nature, return to the right side. I promised myself with my soul, Nueva would never land her hand on that little devil.”
Xavier squinted his eyes. He had no idea what was going on here, but he clearly felt a bad feeling. Evillia did not even have time to look at him; the entire focus of the elf was on Vermyna. Menez, however, refused to look at himself. And Luciel.he looked at Xavier with a serious expression.
“What happened?” Xavier could not help but ask, not even hiding his confusion.
“Nothing matters.” Vermyna answered. “Only, I did not just join the New World Order, but from now on I am the leader. Evillia doesn't mind. I've informed myself of this to Diametra and Tsusaza and Minner. Luciel could not resist. However, if you go to the right side, you can still lead.”
Xavier understands now. He very much understands. Not only had Vermyna taken Catherine and Nizivia away from her, now she had also seized her organization. This was the first time Xavier felt this angry—just angry, no other emotions were mixed, unlike when he heard what happened to Carnal Village. Pure anger.
“It looks like your response is no, what a pity.” Vermyna shook his head slowly, flicking both fingers of—and instantly they were already in a world dominated by dark purple, above a wider arena from all over Nevada. “What can I do, I just need to make yourself have no other choice.”
Before Xavier could say anything, one of the dark purple bubbles that floated filled the air suddenly shone brightly. Then a very high concentrated laser of light shot straight up the location Vermyna was sitting on. However, the laser never arrived; its position was suddenly far from where they were—Xavier was sure Vermyna was using her space magic.
“Vermy—Xavier, why are you here?” Kanna who was hovering at the place where the purple bubble was previously was suddenly already beside Xavier. “What about the soldiers? You should have made sure no troops caught up with them.”
“Not to worry; I've already told them to go back to Verena.” Xavier said without looking at Kanna. “And Kanna,” he continued in a whisper, “can you forcibly teleport myself and El to the place where your spell was transferred Vermyna?”
“What are you planning?” Kanna whispered too.
“I realize the reason of why sometimes I feel strong and at other times feel weak. I'll explain further later; now I want you to do what I ask.”
“Alright, but don't die.” A teleportation magic circle appeared just below Xavier and Luciel's feet. “If you die, I will find a way to revive you and make you a slave of the palace for the rest of your life.”
“Of course; I won't die before I see you sitting at singga—”
“It seems that you are too big a head after getting the Kurtalaagon, I will be kind enough to teach you again the meaning of humility.”
...—with Xavier and Luciel—...
“What do you mean by you can't resist?” Xavier did not mince words; he did not have time to mince words. “New World Order is important for my purposes; I agree you play the role of El not without reason.”
“Heh, are you throwing a mistake at me now? It's ludicrous coming from you, Xavier. Fie Axellibra is stronger than anyone in Islan; if you're serious about the New World Order, you will for a moment ignore your naive revenge desire that is useless and serious in realizing the New World Order vision. Vermyna is stronger; the leader of the New World Order must be the strongest.”
“Such lies won't work for me, Luciel, and since when does an Archangel like you enjoy lying like that?”
A small laugh jumped out from both of Luciel's lips that opened. “You're right,” honestly after the laugh was gone. “Angels like me shouldn't lie, but, Xavier, who have I been lying to all this time? You are the devil who misleads angels.”
Xavier's eyes blinked. He can't avoid Luciel's accusations.
“But let's ignore that,” continued Luciel with a very serious expression. “You understand the situation, right? You have no other choice now. If you were only perfectly synchronized with my soul, you would not be stronger than my full strength. Use Magic Container on me as you planned. Instead, you must make sure the Throne of Heaven is yours. After that, if you don't want to play the role of a god, you can revive me.”
Luciel raised his right hand with the position of the clenched finger forming a fist. “I've used [Reverse Law] to make us invisible,” he said, his facial expression meeting the definition of Archangel. “Oh, I also want you to insult Edenia when you face her—do it as a parting gift for me.”
Xavier looked at the fist for a moment, then looked intensely at the eye. “You sure? You don't want to solve your problems with Lucifer?”
“If you can do it for me, why should I trouble myself?”
“You...” Xavier sighed. “All right, but I'll make sure I make you bother after turning you on. You'll be in so much trouble until you regret coming back to life.”
“Eh, that's how you said you'd miss me?” luciel asked in a mocking tone. “Sometimes you can't be honest with yourself.”
“Do not make it up!” xavier grunted while sticking his fist at Luciel's fist, but then a faint smile developed on his lips. “Nice to meet and get to know you, Luciel.”
