Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 50: Changing Tides, Part 1

HEARING a question that never appeared in his imagination even though it made Fie laugh. The destruction of one of his lungs made his laughter interspersed with a bloody cough. But Fie was not disturbed. For the first time in the history of his life, he was defeated—and would be killed. He should have been angry, upset, but it was the laughter that came out. He himself does not understand.

“You did?” ask Vermyna.

Fie could not look behind him, but he was sure the woman was looking at him in wonder with her eyebrows raised.

“Think of yourself losing control?”

“Not,” replied Fie after a while his expression became quite serious. “This situation does not make sense, but if you think about it again this is quite reasonable. You are the first being who can break free from the control of the Throne of Heaven without anyone's help. How the hell did you do that? What motivations got you to that point?”

Hearing the question, Vermyna pulled her hand out of the nephilim's left chest. Fie didn't try to escape. Not because they don't want to, but they can't. Even though the hand was gone, Vermyna's blood filled her blood circulation. There's nothing Fie can do to escape.

“You asked me a question I didn't think of. How did I do it? What motivations brought me to that point?”

Vermyna turned her face. There was no sky to which his eyes could turn, but that was no problem. The ruler of these vampires is not looking up. His eyes glared far into the past that was no longer touched. His face, for a few seconds, seemed void of emotion. But his expression returned to normal when his eyes were again anchored to the nephilim.

“...I have forgotten.”

Fie wasn't surprised. He already thought Vermyna would give him that answer. Not because Vermyna really didn't remember it, but because she had intentionally forgotten about it. If he forgets, he can use his powers to see his own past. But that's not what Vermyna did. Something he may not want to remember.

“...What can I do then.”

Fie won't force the queen. Apart from not being interested, he has more important questions to ask.

“You want to see it?”

“You want to show it?”

“No.”

“Then you don't ask. Forgetit. I have a more important question. Consider this a tera— question!”

The blood spear pierced Fie's back so suddenly, it pierced out from the middle of his chest. His heart was pierced, and Fie felt his life energy fade away quickly. However, he did not show a look of pain on his face.

“You're upset I asked you a question earlier?”

“No. I can't be upset. It's just your imagination. Now, quickly ask what you want to ask before you die. I will also destroy your soul, so you will not be able to be a pest to the body of another being.”

“About Edenia, are you really serious about dealing with it? Even with all my strength, touching it I can't. And you think you'll be able to beat him?”

The blood spear that struck him instantly branched, and pain instantly bombarded every cubic inch of the nephilim's body. However, Fie did not have time to feel the pain any longer. One of the blood spear branches had pierced through the part of the brain that made him feel pain.

“This is not a matter can not. It's purely about self-esteem and retaliation. After what he did to me, I can't just let him go. It was me who died or it was him who died. No other options.”

Those words were the last thing Fie could hear before her eyes lost function. The darkness swallowed him without excuse. The chills of the cold clustered against the nephilim.

I see, yes. Then make my power yours. Even though I couldn't see her coming that day, I wanted to at least be able to finish her off.

Fie did not know if Vermyna could hear the voice of her heart, but that was all she could do before her consciousness completely vanished without a trace.

“As you wish,” muttered Vermyna while pulling all the blood that floated freely.

...* * *...

Kanna and her army and the Order 1 Knights Templar were already within the territory of the Emiliel Holy Kingdom within a short period of time. Teleportation is the answer to all problems involving distance— except the distance of two hearts between two lovebirds who are equally willing but equally embarrassed. They can even stand on Axellibra if they want. However, they need to make sure in advance of the situation in the capital before going there.

Kanna and the group are at a distance of five kilometers southeast of Axellibra ‒ they are preparing to immediately overcome enemy resistance.

Several Imperial Army Division 9 warriors who were good at the art of reconnaissance had already darted into the capital earlier. They only needed to wait for those soldiers to return before deciding on their next move. The 12th Division and 1st Division that Xavier and Lilithia led should already be there. However, since Kanna had yet to sense the signal of Fie's presence, it was likely that the battle had yet to break out.

The wait for Kanna and the troupe did not last long. The five soldiers who had previously been sent to conduct reconnaissance had returned with slightly strange news. But Kanna did not think about it any longer – she could think about after arriving at Axellibra. He also asked all troops (including the Knight Templar who Arthur led) to stand up and prepare.

Meanwhile, in the vast Axellibra, Lexata IX led his army to attack the two Imperial Army divisions about to enter the city. Lexata faced off with the leader of both divisions, while his soldiers were already busy fighting with the two attacking divisions. Lexata's opponent was not the commander, but the fusion of their powers both made him a pain.

Inside the city, precisely in the special room in the church, the fight between Valeria and Lancelot had already entered the peak phase. Lancelot had expended a lot of energy before the two fought, it was clear that he was in an unseeded position. However, Valeria could not just defeat him. The second strongest vampire of all of Vermyna's subordinates was until forced to unleash his full strength.

On the northwestern side of the city, Lumeria had just set both feet above the city walls. His eyes—though less clear—can see the ongoing battle in front of the south gate of the capital. However, Lumeria ignored that. The battle between the Knights Templar and the Imperial Army was none of his business. Lumeira was more interested in fighting within the church than the battles of the two camps.

Lumeria quickly approached the church. However, before his two legs could even step inside, a large amount of magic energy invaded the capital. And at that time also the eyes of the former Third Commander found Kanna el Vermillion was exactly one hundred meters above his head. Their eyes met face to face, and Lumeira could see that the princess was unhappy.

“Oh, shit.”
