Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 30: It Begins!, part 4

Hekiel felt that something was different from the individual he had just made dragged on the ground. His aura changed drastically. Compared to before, now he felt more threatening. Of course Hekiel did not think the final outcome of the fight would change, but he felt he had to be more careful with the saint.

“You have sent most of the troops around the wall,” comments Hekiel when he found the number of Knights Templar soldiers there is not as much as he heard. “Good move.”

“Stop your vain remarks, Sinner!” hiss the saint while closing both palms. “Take Over: Seraph.”

Ssssst…. The saint's body instantly exuded a holy white aura. Then the white aura seemed to heat up, and a second after it emitted white smoke that soared into the air.

When all the white aura disappeared into the smoke that poured out into the air, it was seen that the saint's skin became bright white. Her previously brown irises had become silvery. Then, most obviously, her brown hair was perfectly bleached. The saint exuded a great and holy power. He was already stronger than before, and Hekiel became wary of it.

“Forward whenever you are ready,” said the saint with both hands outstretched as if he were holding two swords. “I'll clear Islan's air of contamination of breath you exhale, Sinner.”

Hekiel curled his lips. He didn't give a verbal response, but he decided to get serious here. It is characterized by two earth spears that appear in each of his hands, which then turn into adamantite. “Why don't you go forward, Saint,” challenge him while brandishing one spear. “That's of course if you have guts.”

Whether he was consumed by his provocation or deliberately attacked, it was not important. Hekiel found his left shoulder slashed before the saint— whom he did not know his name— reached him. Blood gushed from the commander's shoulder. What happened made Hekiel's focus on the opponent distracted for a moment, and it was used by the saint to avenge Hekiel's previous attack.

Hekiel crashed heavily after his left head was hit by the foot of the leader of the Knights Templar.

The commander of the 6th Division of the Imperial Army only managed to stand up after falling and being dragged several meters. The kick did not concern Hekiel at all, but a gaping incision on his shoulder. He saw nothing, but it was clear that the wound on his shoulder was caused by a sword.

“That explains why he looks as if he is holding a sword,” Hekiel murmured while using metal manipulation to turn his skin into adamantite. “In each of his hands there is a sword, but invisible.”

However, it does not explain how his shoulder was injured. Hekiel was sure the cause was not both invisible swords in the saint's two hands. No movement could produce an incision like a sword released by an arrow. He had focused on the opponent, not having had time to feel the presence of the cause of the injury to his shoulder. However, could it really be another invisible sword that could be controlled?

“Commander Gilbert is said to be able to make his body as hard as adamantite, and it is done without turning his skin into adamantite. His ability was purely an optimization of Enhancement. But you're the opposite.” The saint stopped eight meters from Hekiel. “You can turn your skin into adamantite.”

For now, Hekiel would assume his conjecture was correct. He would also assume his opponent had more than one mind-controlled sword. That is, to face the saint, he must divide his attention. Hekiel had never faced someone with saint-like abilities before, this would be challenging. This fight would require him to maximize the instincts that Hekiel had.

However, the final result will not change. Hekiel will finish off the saint as he has said before.

“Hekiel von Vanguarta.” Heciel introduced himself. “What's your name, Saint?”

“Oh, do you understand who's on top now? Real nice. It is appropriate for a sinner like you to understand the position you have in this world. I, Alfonso Alsabnitz, will be kind to purify you.”

Hekiel's lips curled at the arrogant speech. He released a decent amount of mana, and instantly an area 100 meters from where he stood jutted inward. Hekiel wanted to isolate themselves about 100 meters below ground level.

Hekiel's assumption proved correct when the two spears bounced off when they reached half the distance with Alfonso. It was unmistakable that it was caused by two invisible swords. Hekiel spontaneously fused the two palms together, making the speed of the ground down accelerate exponentially.

“...You think you can beat me by isolating ourselves here?” Alfonso, who had stopped leaping backwards as the ground level on which they stood was within 80 meters, asked with a wrathful expression. “I'll show you the power of Seraph Selaphiel.”

Just as the ground on which they were resting stopped descending (its position was already 103 meters below the surface of the ground), Hekiel felt pressure coming from where Alfonso was standing. That made him a little wary. He instantly created a wall of soil in front of him, turning it into adamantite.

The vigilance and actions that Hekiel took were not in vain. The adamantite wall before him in an instant had bombarded the invisible sword. Hekiel could also feel the air splitting above and both sides. The swords numbered not two, three, or ten, but hundreds. Worse, the adamantite walls that protect it show signs of damage.

The invisible swords were abnormal, inner Hekiel while creating more earth walls and spears.

Most of the walls and earth spears were destroyed by the invisible sword, but Hekiel managed to turn more than a third of them into adamantite.

Hekiel does the same thing constantly. By the time ten minutes had passed, Hekiel had managed to create over 800 spears and 200 adamantite walls. Now he was in the crowd of adamantite walls, on his left-right each hovering 400 adamantite spears.

With an adamantite shield in each hand, Hekiel jumped into the air and exclaimed, “Now,”—Hekiel bounced off after both of his shields were hit by several invisible swords, but he can control himself and land on one of the walls—“giliranku!”

Instantly, 800 adamantite spears shot out from the cracks of the existing adamantite walls. Everything darted in one rhythm attacking Alfonso Alsabnitz.

The saint was not someone he could deal with at close range with all of his invisible swords. If Hekiel had sensory magic, the story would be different. Unfortunately, he has no sensory magic. Hekiel had no choice but to serve the saint remotely. And, with all of those spears, he was able to divert Alfonso's invisible sword target.

At least, that is what Hekiel plans ‒ he will take advantage of the gap that exists to trap the saint in the crush of adamantite walls.

Unfortunately, all his spears first challenged the transparent wall that was right between Hekiel and Alfonso. Simultaneously, a barrage of invisible swords invaded the two shields that the commander held. Hekiel was forced to make a pillar of earth that shot his body into the air, then made the ground stand for him to dart to the surface. However, Hekiel's pace was forced to halt as his head hit the transparent wall that had sealed them off.

“Do not think I will let you escape!” alfonso Alsabnitz shouted, he was already inside the blue-fluorescent rectangular prism. “[Shield Magic]- I will make sure you will not be able to escape from my invisible swords.”

“The magic is quite interesting,” praise Hekiel who has created a adamantite ball with ten meters radius to protect it from the impact of invisible swords. Hekiel made it thick enough that it was hard to be pierced by the swords. “I will continue to be cornered if I keep saving mana.”

Taking a deep breath, Hekiel instantly fused his two palms together. It sacrificed enough mana to turn things around.
