Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 50: Changing Tides, Part 4

For the Knights Templar and the inhabitants of the Emiliel Holy Kingdom as a whole, angels (let alone the seraphim) held a high position among them. Those celestial beings were seen as a superior race. Excluding the Seraphim Emiliel, there was the Seraphim Mariel who had once set foot in their native land. For the inhabitants of Emiliel Holy Kingdom, angels are like objects as deities – almost every house has an angel statue in it.

Even for Lancelot and Arthur, who may have heard of Kanna having angel wings, seeing her in person is still very surprising. What's more, it's different from what Rossia Himera showed, the angel wings of the real Kanna. It is not the result of which construction. The only thing lacking was the presence of a halo overhead. If Kanna had a halo over her head, perhaps some of the soldiers would have kneeled full of glory.

Kanna knew enough about it, so he deliberately used Parallel Mind of Raphael even though he was not in a fight. With six pairs of wings that expanded on his back, the soldiers would be more receptive to his words. However, if they still do not want to understand and choose to insist on their selfishness, he will be forced to make them unable to leave Axellibra.

“You have heard Sir Arthur's explanation, and you also understand the situation we are experiencing now makes us have no other choice.” Kanna paused for a moment and raised her right hand, as soon as the magic circle formula was created in the air—the capital-wide black flame pillar appeared and rose as if reaching the sky. Kanna was already at a level where she could do anything with [Rune Magic].

“I can destroy Emiliel Holy Kingdom and its people right now, but I don't want destruction.” Kanna eliminated the black flame pillar and faced completely at the soldiers. “My ancestors are from this kingdom. The city of Eden was developed by Nueva Vermillion. Indirectly, I am still a part of Emiliel Holy Kingdom.”

“But talking about the past won't solve anything.” Kanna's eyes are sharpening. “The Imperial Army has taken down many members of the Knights Templar, but so have the Knights Templar who have taken out many Imperial Army soldiers. There's nothing we can do to change all that. But the future is different. The New World Order is our common enemy. For the sake of the future, we must put aside the hostility for a moment.

“New World Order was the trigger for this unnecessary war, but Pope Genea and Emperor Nueva were both wrong here. As Sir Arthur put it, Pope Genea has done nothing to kill so many lives. So too with Emperor Nueva. He had already forced the empire to spill blood. We can't let this go; I can't let it. As Seraphim Mariel gave black fire to Retsu Vermillion, the 12 Great Seraphim had entrusted their power to me.”

Kanna paused for a moment, eyes looking from the left end to the right. He needs to make sure his voice is conveyed perfectly to the rear without having to shout out loud.

“I'll be pemim—”

“Wah. Gee. Wah.”

The murmur followed by the clapping made Kanna immediately stop talking. Like the others, his eyes also directly pointed at the owner of the voice. The face he did not recognize was sitting on one of the gate posts. Lumeira and her previously restrained vampire were also beside her, but both were standing.

“I didn't know Princess Kanna el Vermillion had a poisonous tongue. Look, the majority of the soldiers have even been beguiled by your words. Those six pairs of wings, did you deliberately bring them out knowing that they have great respect for the angels?”

That way of talking is unmistakable Vermyna Hellvarossa. And realizing that makes Kanna's worries peak. Did he kill Fie Axellibra and Xavier?

Arthur, Lancelot, and their entire army had also turned their bodies there. So too with the Imperial Army soldiers. The difference, the Imperial Army soldiers only showed a wary face, while the Knights Templar soldiers showed anger. Hearing the name “Vermyna” makes their anger skyrocket.

“Fie Axellibra?” Vermyna tilted her head innocently. “Oh!” he nodded in surprise and then snapped a finger. “You mean this lifeless little girl?”

Kanna's eyes widened. All eyes are wide. They all looked on in disbelief at the pole as big as a banana tree that came out of the dimensional portal that Vermyna made. Of course it was not because the pillar was made of blood; the individual whose hands were stuck on the pillar stem was what made their eyes all widen in disbelief.

Fie Axellibra's. It really is Fie Axellibra. Two red spears were lodged in his stomach, one on his neck, and another on his two palms that were put together. He's in a dead state. No matter how hard someone denied it, what they saw was truly reality. Vermyna Hellvarossa had killed the Fie Axellibra, a creature considered to be the strongest.

Arthur and Lancelot were in shock, but both managed to hold off some of the soldiers who attempted to attack.

Kanna ignored all of their actions. He even ignores the moment Arthur darted quickly to greet the lifeless body of Fie that Vermyna had cast out. His mind was now on just one thing.

“...Where is Xavier?” ask him with a sharpened view—the number of his wings has become seven pairs. “What happened to him?”

The noise the Knights Templar made did not bother Kanna. Her eyes pierced deeply into Vermyna's eyes, while Vermyna looked at her comfortedly. They were not in the distance to speak, but their voices reached out to each other.

“Xavier…? I don't know that guy. But, if you ask about El infiltrating the empire and becoming a Twelfth Commander, I know the answer. El, or what you call Xavier von Hernandez, may be fighting Emperor Nueva el Vermillion. But that was; maybe now he's resting after killing your father. And, by the way, El is my husband.”

Kanna's wings quickly grew to fifteen pairs, and in an instant she was already gripping Vermyna's face. Before anyone had a chance to react, even Vermyna herself was shocked, this first anomaly had hit an iceberg hard. The mountain was instantly smashed into pieces.

They are no longer in Islan. Kanna had thrown Vermyna smashing into one of the mountains in the Ice Gheata Continent.
