Xavier moved faster than the sound propagating through the air snuffing out the Knights Templar. At least, it was the movement of both of his hands. Xavier's feet only took a few small steps. Forward, right, left, back, and turning. He did not move more than a one-meter radius from where he was standing. But the number of fallen bodies continues to grow and increase.
Only, the number of soldiers there were too many to compare with the number of corpses that were scattered and burned were devoured by fire. Although Xavier's two hands moved the sword quite quickly, the number of Knights Templar soldiers seemed to have not decreased. They keep coming like waves crashing into the reef. The difference is, they can't touch Xavier.
The Twelfth Commander was about to let out a wide-scale burst of flames when suddenly a voice invaded his head directly from within:
“Commander Xavier, this is I—deputy commander Division 1. The 12th Division has joined the 1st Division. Miss Vermyna was teleporting everything to the front of the Axellibra gate with her teleportation mirrors. For a while, there was no sign of the existence of Fie Axellibra. I will again contact the Commander as soon as the nephilim appears. At that time I hope Commander is done with the business there and directly here.”
The 1st Division Deputy Commander did not wait for a response; he immediately cut off his telepathic connection before Xavier could reply. It was very disrespectful, but they did not have time to think of such a trivial thing in the middle of a battle.
Ignoring the point of no question, Xavier jumped into the air avoiding the spear thrust in a puffed-up chest. And before he reached the turning point where his body would obey gravity, a massive scale flame burst instantly spewed out from Xavier's mouth.
The soldiers who were within close range failed to do much to protect themselves, but the soldiers who were a short distance away had already reacted by spouting water from the mouth. Xavier's burst of flames was too massive and powerful to match the dozens of water magic users, but the story would be different if dozens (even hundreds) of them worked together.
Thick fog was instantly created due to the collision of the two opposing elements. In the end there was no winner; xavier's breath of fire ended along with the soldiers' gushing out of the water.
Xavier landed quietly in the middle of the wisp of fog. However, the wind magic users from among the enemy did not want the commander to take advantage of the situation. The thick fog was quickly blown away by the strong wind waves. And at the same time, the soldiers had been running around attacking him.
Xavier swung the black-handled katana slashing the necks of each attacking soldier, separating the heads from their bodies. He shifted to the left avoiding a swing of the sword from cutting off his hand, then used the blue-handled katana in his left hand to stab the soldier in the stomach.
Simultaneously, two warriors lunged blindly from behind him, their swords drawn sharply ready to take the life of the enemy its holder.
Xavier only glanced at the two soldiers, then darted forward to finish off the soldiers in front of him. Utilizing the body of a soldier, Xavier jumped and then salted back, passing two soldiers who were about to kill him. Unmercifully, Xavier swung the black katana slashing the bodies of the two naive warriors horizontally.
Xavier continued to kill them quickly. He no longer focused only within a certain radius. Xavier has no time to play around here. Xavier mustered both of his different-colored flames to finish off tens to hundreds of soldiers at once.
“Mo-Monster!!”
Xavier's lips curled slightly, not a smile, but an evil grin that made some warriors who still had combat souls sweat coldly. It was very impolite to call him a monster, but the commander could not blame them either.
“I'll show you how monster I am!” xavier exclaimed as he enveloped his two katanas with a blue flame—api for the blue-handled katana and the black flame for the black-handled katana. Without a cue, Xavier darted like an arrow out of a bowstring hunting the target. The black and blue flames lit up brightly, burning every soldier hit by the sword slash of the master to ashes.
Various defensive magic was deployed, but in the presence of any kind of burning black flames capable of melting orichalcum quickly, all low-level defense magic was completely useless. The two flames devoured everything as he burned the paper, without any significant hindrance. Screams of agony filled the battlefield, making anyone who heard the guts to simply witness the massacre.
One against seventy thousand, it is the initial amount of fight—more precisely this unbalanced massacre—. Now, the army that Xavier faced had been reduced by more than thirty percent.
Facing them directly with a sword like this would be quite time consuming, but Xavier was also reluctant to slaughter them all in a monster-like instant.
Xavier then jumped back away from the soldiers. Placing both of his katana on the ground, Xavier's palms instantly fused together. Right after the two palms were united, a gigantic black-colored magic circle appeared enveloping the soldiers. “Their cage, Black Prison!” xavier exclaimed, instantly a black flame appeared surrounding the magic circle.
As the magic circle disappeared, the black flames rose to lick the sky, trapping the soldiers perfectly.
Not enough to get there, Xavier increased his magic energy consumption, and soon after appeared three layers of giant magic circles (consecutive orange, blue, and black) hundreds of meters above Xavier. Slowly, flames of immeasurable intensity overflowed from within the magic circle forming a bird that in legend was known as the ruler of the sun.
Wuss!
The giant phoenix made of three-colored flames (orange, blue, black) flew high into space then swooped sharply towards the soldiers trapped in the confinement of the black flames.
The soldier who was in the fog did what they could to save himself: someone wrapped his body with the ground, locked himself in a transparent barrier, silently resigned to accepting fate, and he was not, there were even reckless ones breaking through the black flame confinement. They all try hard. But—
“It's enough.”
—in an instant, the giant phoenix and all the flames that had sealed up and burned some of the soldiers that had been desperate to escape instantly disappeared.
Not only that, all the magic used by those soldiers disappeared without a trace, as if the battlefield turned into an anti-magic field. The instant silence enveloped the battlefield, the faces of the soldiers were filled with shock which then turned into gratitude. Seeing that, Xavier frowned and looked for the culprit who had obliterated his magic.
“Nona Fie, that's Miss Fie, the protector of Emiliel Holy Kingdom!”
“True, it's Miss Fie, we're safe!”
Hearing the soldiers' cries, Xavier's gaze reflexively turned upwards.
There, a small silver-haired girl with a long waist with a spear in her right hand was floating with a pair of angel wings stretched out. Although her physique was like that of a twelve-year-old girl, Xavier knew very well that she was almost a hundred times older than herself.
The girl was wearing a grey robe without a hood. Despite being a considerable distance away, Xavier was able to see the symbol of a pair of angel wings on the collar. However, unlike the two wings, one of the wings on the symbol is jet black.
Suddenly, the girl who was hailed as the protector of Emiliel Holy Kingdom flapped her wings. And in an instant he had already landed roughly between Xavier and the Knights Templar.
Xavier looked flat at the petite, golden-sliced and silver-haired woman long as that waist. “Fie Axellibra, I did not expect to meet the only nephilim in this world,” his murmur was flat, his forehead frowning dislikes. “I think I should go to Axellibra to get you to intervene.”
“All of you, go to Axellibra now.” Fie ruled, and the soldiers immediately left without question or but. Then the nephilim pointed his adamantite-eyed spear with his mythril handle at Xavier. “O emperor's dog, Twelfth Commander Xavier von Hernandez,” he said firmly but without emotion, “ your life ends today.”
“Dog emperor…? Me…? You call me an emperor's dog? It was too tickling until I forgot terta—ghuaaaah!”
Fie's left fist had landed on Xavier's stomach before he could finish his sentence. Fie revives Nizivia in speed; the nephilim moves without Xavier having a chance to see her. Even teleportation required a pause of a dozen milliseconds, but Fie's hand hit her stomach faster than that. The pain that Nizivia gave her when Xavier was weak could not hope to avenge Fie's punch. It felt like his internal organs were milled with grinds of tons of mass
When Xavier's eyes blinked due to reflexes, his body had already hit a hill. The hill was destroyed; xavier's body hit the hill behind it. His body stopped after hitting the third hill.
If it wasn't for the quick use of [Reverse Law] (which put his body back into top shape), Xavier wouldn't have denied that he was going to die. The sound of her shattered spine and her broken organs were even still ringing in her head.
The punch was absolutely crazy. Even though I have strengthened my body with mana, I still almost died.
“...You're alive.” Fie had been tens of meters above Xavier who was still in a state of defiance. “Luciel has a strong body, normal if he survived. But you're only human, surviving my nephilim's blow is impressive. You mastered [Reverse Law] well. But you have to be even better, because I'm going to use the full power of my nephilim.”
