KHROMETH finally settled down nearly ten minutes after Minner's arrival. Still, he did not look at the lionman. Khrometh doesn't mind taking Minner out right now, but right now all his anger has been channeled to Cainabel. He desperately wanted to finish off the vampire woman right now.
“Until when do you care about me, Khrometh? Ah, you must be very angry that your pride creations were destroyed, don't you think? You're now desperate to finish off Cainabel and vent your anger?”
Khrometh grunts ‒ ogah landing a glance at the man he used to tease “singa male”.
“It is better to forget your wish. Your chances of winning are much greater fighting me than with Cainabel. Women are stronger than people's assumptions. Even if the two of us were together, it was likely that we would lose. Instead of that, let's solve the problem between us. This will be the last. Only one of us will come back alive.”
Khrometh still did not want to serve the lionman, but a sudden right-footed kick forced Khrometh to cross both hands to protect himself. Although both hands had blocked the leg, the great power behind Minner's kick still made Khrometh crashed.
The Chromeths had drastically become stronger compared to when they were still together in Deus Guardian. Minner shouldn't be able to blow it like this. But reality is not so. This only shows that Minner is also stronger—or maybe he is too underestimating his former partner.
“It doesn't matter if you're not interested in fighting. It will only make my job faster. I don't want to make the soldiers who are destroying what's left of Dwagnowa wait too long. We need to quickly resume aggression to the Holy Kingdom.”
Grunting in annoyance, Khrometh stood up from where he had fallen and looked intensely at the lionman. “Let's be clear, Minner, it wasn't me who killed your sister. He's stronger than me. You can blame someone else for that. But if you want to die after Evana and the others, come on up here. I'll crush you until no one's left.”
“This has nothing to do with that problem,” Minner said along with his quiet footsteps. “You're too weak and an idiot to be able to do it. But the fact that you have betrayed the Deus Guardian and sided with the Knights Templar cannot be ruled out. I'm going to make Pope Gramiel's last message come true right now. Death is the most appropriate punishment for traitors.”
“Traitor?” Khrometh. “Deus Guardian ended since Lake Deus vanished. If there's anything you need to blame, blame Pope Gramiel or even Edenia directly. With the loss of Ethereal Water, remaining a part of you is a waste of time and effort. More than that, I'm fed up with you guys always glorifying that bastard Hernandez.”
“Ah, you have always been envious and spiteful of Hernandez. But, Khrometh, do you know the creation of ‘masterpiece’ Hernandez?”
Khrometh again snorted. He had not counted how many times he had snorted, but talking to someone like Minner was impossible to keep him from snorting.
“H…. I don't think it's any use talking to you anymore. You're already at a point where it's impossible for you to go back. Prepare yourself, Khrometh, this will be the last fight of your life.”
Khrometh did not take those words for granted. Those are offensive words that can't be left without consequences. All of the rune formulas he had installed on his body instantly he activated simultaneously. A double-edged axe appeared so suddenly in Khrometh's left hand, and a golden black armor had bandaged the vital parts of the dwarf's body.
“I have no intention of killing you, Minner. But if you really want to die, come forward! I'll take you to the gate of death!”
Minner didn't need to be asked twice, and he didn't need the dwarf's invitation either. With a golden aura that had enveloped his body, Minner darted towards his former comrade with sharp claws on both hands. In his incision there, Minner immediately entered his Beastification mode. He will not waste time in this fight; he will destroy Khrometh with his full strength.
Before Khrometh could stand, Minner was already in front of him. Khrometh's body was again blown away. More than that, this time blood poured out of the gaping wound that Minner's claws caused. Khrometh was wearing armor, but still unable to hold Minner's sharp and hard claws from penetrating his skin.
“What's up, Khrometh? Your old body no longer remembers how to fight? Do I have to wait until you're ready?”
Khrometh grieved and rose from his fallen position after crashing, slamming, and dragging.
“Don't big head, Minner.” Khrometh said as he tilted his head to the right and to the left rather quickly. “You're just lucky. More precisely, I let me hit me. That's it.”
In response to the dwarf's arrogant speech, Minner conjures up dozens of orange magic circles on his right and left. And without the cue or the name of the spell, a series of orange-colored laser light shot to bombard the short body of Khrometh.
However, if previously Khrometh became the moons of the lionman, this time Khrometh did not remain silent. Dozens of triangular-shaped golden bariers appeared simultaneously before the dwarf. They perfectly blocked the laser Minner fired.
As the offensive and defensive spells clashed, Khrometh jumped back and threw his axe diagonally into the air. Then his two palms fused together and his chest puffed up. Deepened Chrometh, Water Magic: Fang of Poseidon!
A super-high-pressure water laser until the outside of it is vaporized shot out of Khrometh's mouth. Barier creation—which is not even able to be destroyed Minner— light laser directly shattered into pieces when hit by the super-high-speed pressurized water laser. Its speed was certainly not able to match that of light, but it was hundreds of times above the speed of sound.
However, Minner's instincts at the superior level are not able to be surpassed by the deadly attack. Although only a dozen milliseconds, but Minner had time to head down avoiding the water laser that Khrometh mouth sprayed.
Lasers are dangerous. The small mountain was dozens of hundred meters behind them until it hollowed out after receiving the water laser.
Minner who was about to comment on the dwarf's attack was again startled by the sharp warning scream of his instinct. With all his energy he moved his body to jump to the right. Dan—buuuuum! Khrometh's axe hit where Minner had previously stood. The explosion caused the axe was large enough to make Minner crashed even though he had avoided.
“I forgot the ax had an explosive effect,” Minner murmured after landing, his eyes narrowed looking at the axe in the air and darting back towards its owner. “And he has been more proficient in his magic. Not bad, Khrometh.”
However, even that did not upset Minner. Instead, his enthusiasm increased. His lips are wide enough. That's how it should be. Their duel this time was a duel between life and death. It would be very disappointing if he could win so easily.
“I go forward, Khrometh!”
