Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 15: Duo Monster, Part 4

Xavier had no expectation that Rossia Himera could surprise him. Not even a little. However, what was presented before his eyes was quite shocking. Armageddon, the spell connects the magic circle and the door of heaven to summon thousands of angels with varying numbers of wings but none to number twelve.

Seeing how thousands of angels descended from the sky like that.

“Interesting, you managed to surprise me.” Xavier. “Even for me though, facing them all won't be easy. However, from what I saw, they had no emotions. Can I assume they are just replicas?”

“Hmph! It does not matter they are original or replica. Obviously, tonight you'll just stay name.”

Xavier let his amused smile blossom. He had a theory that all the replica angels would vanish if Rossia killed him. Compared to fighting them all, it was easier to finish off Rossia. However, even though it was the most logical choice to make, Xavier would not do that. It would be boring; anyone who might peek at his fight would sigh in disappointment at the boring anticlimax.

“Alright, let's prove if your words contain or are just booty.” Xavier soared into the air—the wind armour enveloped his body, and gravity did not apply to him. “Ah, this is a good opportunity to test my teleportation magic that has grown stronger. I didn't know it was the equivalent of Reinhart/Catherine, but because of that I had to test it.”

A one meter long black fire sword was created in each of Xavier's hands. “Let's try your powers, False Angel.” Xavier had already teleported in the midst of those fake angels when the fake word left his mouth.

...—...

“Stupid,” ketus Rossia as Xavier begins to finish off his replica angels one by one. “Therefore I might just shut up and wait for you to finish them all.”

Rossia instantly sat cross-legged with a magic wand hovering before her, natural energy rapidly flowing into her body. It was clearly visible from the withering and death of the grass near this blood red haired woman. Rossia uses a secret race technique as safe—only Whalef is currently known as a natural energy user. And, Rossia believes he is superior to the sea man in this technique.

Rossia wasn't elected a saint because Alfonso was a better idiot than him. Not at all. He is superior to the shrimp-brained man from all sides. Only, his nonanya said the position of saint was no longer appropriate for him. It is above them. He was the most special human in the Holy Kingdom. The potential is above everything.

Indeed, Marcus has made history by awakening five magic, but only to that extent. As for Rossia, she could learn any technique. His body can adapt to anything. Most especially, it can hold as much energy as anything without any side effects. It is the best experimental result of all experimental subjects ever. He is superhuman. Unfortunately, his body had still not reached the peak of his potential.

“No human being is superior to me,” asserted Rossia, pushing her ego to a higher level.

...—...

Xavier swung his black fire sword to finish off two four-winged angels at once, then teleported and finished off the other angel again. He had already done that two minutes in a row; the total of the false angels he had already killed reached four hundred plus—but all were two or four wings. Xavier wants to reduce their numbers regularly: from the weakest to the highest.

Xavier did the same tactic for the next two minutes, and the number of false angels was decreasing. But they are still too many. They had also adapted to his attacking methods. It was evident from how many winged false angels stood guard around the little winged false angels. Therefore, Xavier decided to stop using such underhanded tactics.

The red-eyed young man teleported into the air, making him more than thirty meters above the fake angel who was the highest flying position. “Majulah, I will no longer teleport!” xavier exclaimed as he manifested dozens of whitish-blue magic circles under his feet. “Lightning Magic: Roaring Thunders!”

“Fire Magic: Dragon Bre—” Xavier cancels his intention of spouting blue flames when suddenly two ten-winged angels are on his right and left with each piercing spear of light. Both of Xavier's black fire swords swiftly slashed the two spears of light, then he salted once while swinging his sword horizontally, sending two black fire slashes at the two angels.

They were quite powerful, but they were only false angels who could only make spears of light. The black flames engulfed them quickly, and Xavier instantly converted the flames into a spear that shot out and pierced two other six-winged angels.

Then, when the majority of the false angels had already surrounded him, Xavier used Space Reversal on the bottom angel— making their positions spontaneously change.

“Fire Magic: Dragon Breath!”

This time around, Xavier's burst of flames managed to come out perfectly. Not stopping there, he also created two light green magic circles that released wind waves that magnified and accelerated his fire. Xavier's burst of flames swept across an area that was twice as large as his normal spell.

The false angels actively dodged, but the majority of them were engulfed in a burst of fire.

“Ultimate Fire Magic:—” Xavier unleashed both of his black fire swords, bringing his palms together—which spontaneously manifested four massive blue-colored magic streaks on his right, left, top and bottom. The mana consumed by the four magic circles was as much as Lilithia's mana capacity. “Wrathful Sea of Fire God!”

Suddenly, a blue flame in high intensity gushed out from the four magic circles. Its speed was three times that of the wind-reinforced Dragon Breath; its magnitude was up to ten times that. The four bursts of fire circled around each other. And, as they smashed into each other, those fire waves released even greater upward energy. No false angel can come out of the area engulfed by fire it—saking its massive area of the spell effect.

The fire continued to rise and the area of coverage was getting wider, so wide that it covered the entire country. For three full minutes, the sky of Favilfna was blue. The fire disappeared completely in the fourth minute. There was nothing left of air; the false angel vanished unnoticed, and the air itself became empty for a moment— before it was re-filled by the other air components.

“The destructive power is quite large,” comments Xavier, “but the mana consumption is quite large—although only about ten percent of the total manaku capacity is now.”

Smiling satisfied, Xavier then landed his gaze down. He had already felt the energy moving into Rossia, but he ignored it. He had seen how Whalef did the same, so he was also interested to know. But who would have thought the natural energy that accumulated in the woman's body was up to eight times greater than what Whalef could absorb.

“I think the fake angel was your ace card,” Xavier said as he lowered his body quickly—ia landed elegantly without making a sound. “But who would have thought you had another ace.”

Rossia who was sitting cross-legged grieved. “You finished them off faster than I thought,” his comment, grabbed the magic wand and stood up. “But it doesn't matter; now the real fight is just beginning.”

“I doubt if the result will change, but no problem. Go ahead, Rossia Himera! Show me the true strength of Fie Axellibra's student.”

Rossia did not need to be asked twice; she was already in front of Xavier, and Xavier himself had been pushed tens of meters back.
