Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 9: Causa Proxima, Part 5

...—Etharna, Favilifna Kingdom—...

Neix exited the dimensional portal that floated hundreds of meters above the Royal Palace. He could feel the life of the whole city his perception had been sharpened to a level where he could reach the entire kingdom, and more. No one could hide from him; and obviously, no one would be able to raise him.

As soon as the dimensional portal disappeared, Neix did not immediately descend ‒ he quietly floated in place for a while, then then descended right on the highest tower of the palace. Neix did nothing there for some time, just standing still looking at what was seen from the tower.

No one could sense Neix's presence. He was already at a level where ordinary people would not be able to sense his existence. If they don't see it, they won't be able to say they know it exists. Neix has evolved; in him flows the blood of every race in the world. He was the embodiment of all the living races—be they intelligent beings or Magical Beasts.

For a dozen minutes he stood still at the top of the tower, but in the end Neix's assumption proved correct. The soldiers could not feel his presence. Therefore he decided to lower his energy level to the usual level— made the soldiers instantly panic because the blaze where Neix produced a shock wave that is not small.

The cries of the soldiers filled the air, invading Neix's sense of hearing. However, Neix quickly messed up the sound waves that— made those sounds vanish before reaching him. For the Neix that had evolved, doing so was as easy as turning the palm of the hand. There were hundreds of souls whose crystal balls were absorbed, how much magic could he use? Answers hundreds. And [Sound Magic] was clearly one of that many numbers.

It was only when the Hebranest joined the Neix warriors that they stopped disrupting the sound waves that reached them, that they were able to hear the words that their mouths gave birth to.

“You need not worry, she is her guest of honor Her Majesty.” Hebranest calms the soldiers. “Go, resume your activities.” Then the leader of the soldiers jumped towards the top of the tower without hearing a single soldier's response.

“Hebranest, do you know who I am?” neix asked just as Hebranest landed beside him. However, Neix's gaze was not at all on the man; his eyes were still focused on looking at the expanse of the city that his eyes could see.

“Of course, Mr. Neix.” Hebranest was as respectful as ever. “Although the Master is no longer wearing a black robe and mask, and despite the Lord's aura changing drastically, I cannot possibly mistakenly recognize Mr.”

Neix glanced at Hebranest without changing the direction of the face. There is something different about Hebranest. Whether it was his manner of speaking to himself or even his overall demeanor, Neix could not say for sure. Obviously, there is a slight difference. However, Neix quickly ruled that out— believing Hebranest was surprised by his new existence.

“Now it is time for us to move,” Neix said with the eyeballs already back to the front. “Talk to Crow, Shiftor, Miera, and Mary to gather all the Eternity members here. Tonight too the four of them must lead them to the Forbidden Valley Ed. In the meantime, you and the Favilifna army will catch up with them tomorrow morning. We're going to destroy the Knights Templar's army.”

“How about the security of Favilifna Kingdom, Mister?”

Neix's eyes blinked. Ah, it seems that he does not care about the Favilifna Kingdom at all until he does not care about their security. Elmira and her family had been of little use to her, at least she had to show them compassion.

“You may leave a few thousand soldiers here,” Neix said after nodding to himself, then he again carried his body floating in the air.

“What about Zegyus, Mr Neix? You didn't mention his name at all.”

“...Zegyus has its own duties.” And with that Neix shot vertically upwards like an arrow shot at full force, then Neix swerved sharply and took a bow towards the founding of the Forbidden Valley of Ed. The shock of the air shook Etharna's sky as Neix brought his speed to a higher level.

...* * *...

Xavier returns to Verada with a deep enough dilemma. He didn't want to know what would happen if he told Monica. Without being told he was acting like this, what if he told you? Xavier is worried that their relationship will deteriorate and there is a small chance that it will no longer be repaired. And as Artemys wished, it was better for them to keep their private lives a secret.

Kanna and Monica and even Artemys and even Evillia.

Considering it's all right, it's not at all wrong here, is it? After all, something like this wouldn't have happened if they hadn't tried to plunge into his arid heart.

But it wouldn't be fair to them if he kept what had happened between him and Artemys a secret. Moreover, the fate of Catherine and Nizivia is still not saved. If he wants to build a healthy relationship, being forthright is what he has to do. Evillia wouldn't be upset if—oke, there's no way Evillia wouldn't be up black knowing what's going on between her and Artemys.

Xavier could not imagine they would all remain calm after hearing himself bluntly. No wonder Artemys said to keep their relationship a secret, for the good of all of them.

Oh, what a difficult situation! Xavier couldn't help but massage his forehead, how could he constantly find himself in such a complicated situation?

“Xavier!” Monica barged in in a hurry, instantly drawing Xavier's attention to her. “Your presence is required in the Imperial Palace. It has to do with Favilifna Kingdom.”

What a perfect distraction to bring it out of the draining inner pressure! Xavier let his lips smile in relief, and it triggered next to Monica's eyebrows to lift.

“I just thought you were mad at me, Monica, but I'm glad you're still acting that way,” Xavier quickly reasoned.

...—Prohibited Valley Ed—...

Buuum!

Neix landed heavily, cracking the ground and blocking and raising dust into the air. He landed in style and without a doubt; he did not have to worry about the arrival of Fie Axellibra. He had sprinkled Stakhnet's frozen blood powder over the barier, and, it created a layer of barrier that signals Fie not to think of him as a stranger to the nephilim— and thus the barrier would not warn the nephilim.

Of course now Neix no longer worried about the presence of Fie Axellibra. Although hundreds of his magic became useless in the presence of the woman, he felt that he could defeat Fie. It has evolved. His existence is now in a class that cannot be equated with the nephilim. However, Neix could not destroy the barrier freely if Fie came. Therefore, in order to conserve energy, he continued to use the blood of Stakhneth that Zegyus took in his cave of Chrometh.

“Well, the strongest barrier the world has ever seen, let's see if you can survive my great power.”

Neix did not underestimate Hernandez. But he still wants to try it. However, if he still cannot destroy the barrier, he has no choice but to tell Vermyna that he is ready to carry out the vampire's terms.

Note: I've already said anyone who's fixed up with Xavier, but it looks like that's going to change. The surest: Artemys and Kanna (these two will not change), the other two seem to have to keep up with the demands of the plot. And do not rule out the possibility it will be reduced to three—or two. I have learned from my previous experience that change happens as I write.
