Chapter 15: Duo Monster, Part 5
The force was quite strong, but it still had not reached one fourth of the power of the super blow of Sataniciela, inner Xavier with both hands still crossed. He's also fast, but not fast enough to keep me from dodging. However, it was true, he was three or four times stronger than Whalef in his full strength—with a much greater amount of energy.
Xavier tilted his head to the left, narrowly avoiding Rossia's punch that was already before him. Then his left hand blocked the blow of the woman's free hand, and tens of milliseconds after that he leaped into the air avoiding the lances of light that burst forth from the ground. A dozen milliseconds later Xavier teleported a dozen meters behind Rossia, a millisecond faster than the creation of a light sword that was about to pierce her abdomen.
His close combat ability was not particularly impressive, Xavier continued in his mind as he leaped to the side avoiding the vertical slash of Rossia's wand. Ideally Rossia is a long-range fighter. But, why did he insist on attacking from close range?
Rossia whose body was shrouded in golden aura circled Xavier and swung her magic wand horizontally, releasing a sharp golden wave towards the commander. Xavier jumped with both legs wide open to parallel, smoothly avoiding those energy waves. However, dozens of spears of light were already above the commander.

“Heavenly Magic: Meteor Shower!”
A unique pattern appeared on the ground, and Xavier immediately understood that Rossia was attacking him up close to create the glowing pattern. Xavier used the [Reverse Law] to remove all of the swords, and at that moment he realized the pattern of shimmering on the ground served as a direction for meteors descending from the night sky. Unlike what Clara used to make, the meteors that Rossia dropped are indeed original from up there.
However, just like the sword and spear of light, all of the meteors instantly vanished without a trace as Xavier narrowed his eyes to the sky.
Rossia did not show a surprised expression seeing her meteor disappear; the woman instead took advantage of Xavier's skyward gaze to attack her up close. The left fist enveloped in thick golden energy sharply floated targeting the commander's chest.
“I think it's time to stop messing around,” said Xavier withstood Rossia's punch with the left palm. The blow had a huge shock effect. However, because Xavier blocked it, the shock effect was only passing through his right and left sides. “Nothing else from you could have caught my attention. You got any last words?” Xavier's eyes looked flat at Rossia's iris as the question came out of her mouth.
Rossia growled, trying to pull her hand away. However, Xavier had first gripped his fist before he could pull it. “Let go, shithead!” he shouted full of anger, trying hard to stay away.
“Good.” Xavier released his grip, but along with it his legs were already lodged in the woman's stomach— which spontaneously made him bounce strongly.
Rossia could withstand the momentum of her body's pace, but Xavier was already in front of the girl with a speeding right fist. The woman spontaneously crossed both hands trying to block the commander's fist. Unfortunately, the fist never touched the target, even Xavier's right leg had floated to the left shoulder of Rossia by a landslide.
This time Rossia was unable to withstand the momentum of her body's speed. It hit the ground, rolled around, and then dragged a few meters before coming to a complete stop. And, the moment his body stopped Xavier had already landed several meters before him.
“After all, it doesn't feel good if I give you too much pain. Hence, once again I ask, do you have any last words?” To assert his seriousness, Xavier raised his right hand and made the Ultra Giant Lezghin Arrow.
“Cih!” Rossia moved her body and knelt on one leg, her eyes looking intently at the commander. “I don't think I'll rely on my last ace,” murmured with a pretty loud volume.
“Last us card?” Next to Xavier's eyebrows raised. “Good. I'll let you use it before I deliver your soul before the gates of death. Use it. I won't dodge.”
“Your behavior will end with your fall,” hissing Rossia while carrying her wand to the front of the chest, her mouth opened and began to cast a spell, “I will rise. My soul is asleep. The unbound universe. The illusion that does not end. Undivided light of enlightenment. Describe...”.
A series of magic circles appeared around Rossia. Xavier could feel the girl spewing out a countless amount of mana.
Xavier, who had been waiting for what was to happen, was in disbelief; nothing happened, and Rossia's whereabouts did not return.

Rossia appeared above the teleportation magic circle inside her room in one of the houses on the edge of the city. “I never imagined there would come a day where I was running away from the fight,” murmured full of annoyance. “Xavier that son of a bitch, how dare he make me run away like this!”
Rossia took a deep breath, before then standing up straight after she calmed down. The pain spontaneously gnawed at his body, but he ignored it and immediately stepped out. Although he lost and had to flee like a coward, the important thing was that he was still alive and had information he could take home.
Can I consider this a victory?

Xavier still did not move from his place speechless as Lilithia landed beside him. It's still hard to believe what happened. That woman had deceived him! He had made Xavier such a fool. Unforgivable. This was the first time he had been humiliated in such a different matter. He should have just finished off the woman without giving her mercy.
But Xavier is not to blame either. Who could have thought that the stick had the function to teleport when it was broken? Obviously it was never in Xavier's expectations.
“You look really upset. What happened?” ask the first commander.
“...No,” Xavier's short response, no interest in explaining what happened. “You're done?”
“I can only survive up to twenty-seven of them, after which I get bored and they all finish at once.”
“Then let's go back.”
“You sure there's nothing you're sorry about?”
“No.”
“Oke.”
They return to Etharna ‒ and Xavier will make sure the embarrassing incident was not known to anyone.
