Against the World II: Transgression
Chapter 8: Defeat in Victory, Part 5
In the anti-magic room, there was no magic that could be used. Let alone that, using the fundamentals of magic (Acceleration, Enhancement, and Manipulation) alone could not. Everyone who entered into this transparent vaulted arena could not access their mana. Of course that excluded him and Kanna. Kanna couldn't have made the stupid mistake of making a weapon for master's eating; the proof was that Xavier could still access the mana.
Xavier and Kanna looked at each other for a moment, before then nodding at each other and darting off against the arrogant— Vermyna who had presumptuously claimed to be a humble being. Without [Complete Sensory], there was no way Vermyna could dodge their attacks as effectively and efficiently as before. And more importantly, Vermyna would not be able to escape from this space.
Xavier and Kanna appear simultaneously on both sides of Vermyna, their two dominant hands clenched tightly clenched fists at the queen.
Vermyna— whose body was shrouded in white energy slightly clear— blocked both fists with both arms.
Anyone would expect that Kanna's and Xavier's punches would blow the ruler of the vampires away. But reality is not so. Vermyna was only dragged back a few steps. In fact, a medium-powered Kanna punch can make Evillia almost sprawled. Even the power of Xavier's punch can not be underestimated. However, her Vermnya was able to block both of their attacks at the same time.
Black lightning and flames enveloped Xavier's hand, while a yellow light emitting heat wrapped Kanna's hand. However, instead of cornering Vermyna, Vermyna actually blew the two away. The ancestors of the demons were not joking; he was serious about making this fight a practice to face the Fie— beings of super exceptional physical strength.
“You may have noticed it. This is the energy that Nizivia uses to make herself dangerous. Rather than using it as Nizivia used it, I now flow it throughout the cells of the body. It makes my physical self stronger.”
Kanna and Xavier did not give verbal responses. The two attacked from two different directions. This time Xavier created two super-high density fire swords in each hand, while Kanna grasped two pieces of light swords. They shot so fast, like lightning in their untrained eyes.
Vermyna alternately tilted his head in different directions avoiding the barrage of incisions of his opponent's second element sword. They were fast, and their movements were getting more and more in tune. Vermyna was able to serve them for a while, but when both of their movements were perfect, he began to be dragged backwards. He did not even have a gap to counter-attack when both of them simultaneously attacked from one side of the same.
Vermyna was forced to take some distance from them to give him some space, but Xavier had already teleported there. At the same time, Kanna (with a super-large ice spiral spear on it) was already in front of Vermyna with both light swords ready to swing. Vermyna could do nothing but cross both hands blocking Kanna's attack.
Both of Kanna's light swords were smashed to pieces, but Xavier's two black fire swords successfully pierced both sides of Vermyna—'s back just as quickly the two swords melted and disappeared.
At the same time, Kanna's leg hits land on the vampire's face. Xavier took advantage of the moment by holding Vermyna's back up. Vermyna they made a rocket into the air. And just then a sharp rotating ice spiral spear struck the body of the demon ancestor.
Not quite up there, Xavier and Kanna simultaneously moved away from where they made Vermyna skyrocket. Their two hands fused together in harmony, creating two massive magic circles of different colors that matched each other. The next thing that happened was something beautiful as well as intimidating: an ice hill inside which a burning black flame shut down Vermyna perfectly.
Then, when Xavier's lightning strike landed right on the top of the ice hill, the huge bang that destroyed the hill instantly shook the arena.
...—with the spectator—...
“They are strong,” comments Cainabel. “None of us can keep up with them. Princess Kanna even nearly killed Queen Evillia with a single blow, and it was still not her full strength.”
Evillia snorted hearing that. Every cubic centi of his body, every plume of red blood, every core point of his being…. All parts of Evillia screamed for her to kill the vampires around her. But he did nothing. Indeed, Evillia could not avoid that only Vermyna might be able to overcome a monster named Fie Axellibra.
“Nona Vermyna still does not have her full strength, the very natural combination of Xavier von Hernandez and Kanna el Vermillion makes it difficult.” Valeria gave her own opinion. “However, it is only a matter of time until they are on the threshold. An attack on such a small scale would not be able to inflict such a deep wound on him.”
Once again Evillia snorted, her mind went back to reviewing Vermyna's arrogant claim: “My current spirit is still unable to defeat Fie, but this condition will not last long. You will soon see the full power of Vermyna Hellvarossa, and you will be very sorry if you decide to be on the opposite side of her.”
On the other hand, Menez said nothing. His eyes were intensely looking down there. As Luciel had ordered him, he had to wait for the right moment to save Xavier and Kanna from this place. He stays in place to make sure Vermyna won't be able to stop him when he intends to leave.
Menez does not know what Xavier will do, but what is certain is: staying in the New World Order is not a good thing for him. The New World Order was over by the second Vermyna said she was going to take over the organization.
He could join the Imperial Army or Chiron Army; one or two lies were enough to convince Kanna, especially after she saved them. Or, he could spend his time focusing on gaining complete control over the Land of Dreams.
...—back to arena—...
From the chunks of ice and the black fire dance that blazed wildly, Vermyna stepped out in a state without the slightest scuff. The black flames were unable to pierce through the slightly clear white aura that enveloped his body; he passed through the blaze as if it was just a breeze of form. Even if the barrage of attacks earlier gave him a wound, his regeneration in an instant made it imprudent.
“Impressive, your cooperation has managed to inflict a wound on me. It's embarrassing for me to say, but I can't avoid that one blow Fie will be able to crush my current body. I have overstated this body. Let's ignore that. Now it's my turn to attack, and I won't hold back either.”
That wave of slightly clear white energy instantly swept across the entire arena. Black fire was extinguished. Ice chunks melt pressed down. And before that energy wave reached Xavier or Kanna, Vermyna was already in front of the princess with a palm piercing forward the slightly clear white—aura that enveloped her body grew thick.
